This article has some gaming impressions:

Didn't know that CIV5 has touch support.

Great Soundtrack for the game of the year 2012. Great atmosphere, sharp gameplay and a surprisingly deep plot if you pay attention.
Please port it to every device on the planet.

The death of the PC!.... Until those people try to write a letter or do some excel sheets...
It's really only after you used an ipad or some puny android tablet that you cherish the PC (and -I'm ready to take the flames-, windows 8 which is a dream on my x86 samsung tablet)

@Win Phone Story
Good to hear, I love my win 7 Phone. Now the only Feature I want from the win 8 phones is the detect-as-mass-storage one.

Microsoft actually built a new user experience concept that works and is superior to that Apple and Android crap.

Win 8 is also awesome on my Samsung Ativ Smart PC tablet (x86) but the Hardware is not there yet (Atom storage bridge too slow).

Of course the surface RT can't replace your x86 Laptop. It's stated everywhere that x86 Desktop applications wont run on it. Wait for the pro Version.

Granted, for a Desktop OS, they made some questionable design decisions (not that this would really slow my work, been using win 8 on my alienware m14 for 2 months now) but it is THE tablet OS that crushes that iOS and Android crap. Have been using it on a Samsung ativ tablet (x86, Atom) for 2 weeks now. After this, using an iPad is like playing an FPS with the kinect
EDIT: Totally agree with Steele Johnson btw

I have win 8 installed on my machine for about 3 months now. I am a power user (.net Programmer) and gamer.

-fast
-rock solid Performance
-missing start menu -> dont care (win + X)
-all games work as in win 7
-Metro -> dont care

Two weeks ago we bought a Samsung ativ tablet with win 8 (x86) and now whenever I use an Ipad i'm thinking: how the hell can anyone do stuff with this apple garbage? Win 8 is not just Microsoft coming late to the tablet Party, it is crushing all the other android, iOS products out there.

Even Win RT is superior to an iPad (Network shares, multiple user profiles, file explorer out of the box, Docking apps)

In my opinion they did a hell of a Job merging all the "legacy" code with a Slick new tablet UI, but nobody seems to realise that providing backwards compatibility for millions of devices and applications is a big deal...

News Comments > No PC Halo 4 Because It's "Designed Specifically for Xbox 360"
94. Re: No PC Halo 4 Because It's Nov 8, 2012, 02:32 Flo

I bought it yesterday because I was bored. The reviews said they did a better Job of telling a Story in-game, up until now (2 hours into it) I don't see anything of that. I'm pissed because this time they had the chance to finally ditch those little dwarf Clown enemies...
What are the first guys I encounter? Stupid Clown enemies...
It gets better later, but as of now I found Reach to be superior. Of course it's nowhere near as good as the top shooters on the PC. Still waiting on someone actually besting Half Life 2, Deus Ex, System Shock 2, etc.

Boot times are awesome with Win 8, even better than Win 7. That plus [WinKey]
  • X] combination while ignoring metro gives me a pretty good experience.

    7. Re: Mark of the Ninja Coming to Steam? Sep 14, 2012, 04:36 Flo

    I've been playing it for about a week now on the 360 and it's the first game in a long time that keeps me coming back. You can unlock different player skins (they call it play styles) which effectively give you a different set of skills (no sword, better stealth skills) to tackle the missions. Killing no one becomes even more attractive this way
    What I also like about the game: It doesn't punish you but I wouldn't consider it easy.
    Bottom line: instant buy.

    I'm playing it at 1600x900 with high details on an alienware 14x laptop with a 555m gt. Runs fine just a few very odd slow downs in certain in-door locations which also occur on low details, guess those are driver issues but other than that, it runs great.
