It has issues like any TW game, but it's fun. If you got it as a pre-purchase+coupon discount and refund from a place like GMG, then it's by far worth it. Otherwise wait a couple of months for it to drop a bit. Really I'm enjoying it more than Shogun 2 or even Civ5. But I see the review bombing has begun, simply to review bomb.

Shogun2 had that same problem, and medieval 2. Seemed like it's optimized for localish networks, but anything else it bogged down. They did get it fixed in the first couple of patches.

So it sounds like the game is a bit of a pig to run and you really need a pretty decent rig to do it justice.
I've got a fx-6350 and 560ti. These are the benchmarks on high/extreme. I still haven't tweaked everything though.

Big thing that I've found is water and shadows soak frames, and lots of units. Shogun2 had the same problem with units, especially unit cards.

Ps.: NWN is still nice to play even now.... and so is BG2. Although I wouldn't play BG2 without some "ease of use" mods anymore... like removing locked chests and traps, everything Identified, stackable stuff... more carry weight, etc.
Ahh we're spoiled now. Makes me wonder how PE or PS:N are going to fair in some peoples minds if they have those in them.

Not sure I'm wild about that...

Neither am I. Seems to be an easy way to simply circumvent the ability to examine the officers testimony.

Can you play solo in this game if you want?
That's what I'm curious on.

Also GMG keys for Rome II went out 15mins ago, and preloads are now live.

Only the 4th biggest launch of the year? A shame, it deserves even better than that. As far as gameplay is concerned it's the best game of the year (at least thus far).
The gameplay is great, makes me think: Matrix, with all the fun that's possible.

That CNBC article is actually pretty funny. I'm pretty sure that guys are simply unwilling to go out on dates, especially considering the possible ass rape that the courts hand to guys, relating with and to do on any topic, or part of any relationship--especially kids, and separations.

Anyone know if these fix the 400 and 500 series hard locks that have been plaguing the last two releases?

But even IF MS patched it, I doubt HWbot will ever let Win8 back on, because how do you verify that someone installed the patch?
That's easy, by forcing the benchmark program to read the SHA-1 hash of the updated file to see if it's fixed or not. It's already done with video drivers.

In other news, hey, people are rebuilding Morrowind again in Bethesda's Engine du Jour.

I don't know that the "Rebuild Morrowind in the Oblivion engine" ever got close to completion, so it'll be interesting to see what happens here.
It's one of those "zomg huge projects" but it's easier to port scripts and quests over from Morrowind to Oblivion since there are common things that were implemented between the two. Going from Oblivion or Morrowind to Skyrim is going to be eye gouging fun for anyone who does it, especially since the entire scripting side of things changed.

Last I looked Morrowblivion was at a .59 release or .60. And it's mostly complete.

What I find funny is the IT guy not using something else besides symantec end point, and locking down the users machines at the local access level.

That's what happens when your game is made for the mass market, you attract the mass idiots
Damned if that isn't the truth. I can remember often enough being able to send off emails to dev's and getting responses on questions, or even in general writing about what I thought of the game. Mass market = mass idiots. It's rare to get a response now, unless it's an indie. And even then, you've got the very special brand of douchewaffle(phil fish).

Yeah not surprised at that pay rate, reminds me of newspapers. How much does the average store make per newspaper sold? Hint: Not much, it's between 0.01 to 0.05/per copy. Weekend papers sell for 0.03-0.13.
