As an extremely casual player, I've always wondered -- what was the point of making you identify stuff and repair your gear? Did they test it without these things and players's brains just rejected a game that let you keep hacking away without ever going back to town? Or do some people find the restock and repair parts fun?
Mostly to sink gold into something. Same reason as to why there's a repair system in WoW, which there wasn't early in the vanilla beta.

I still want to know what Blizzard and their fanboys like Krowen are going to come up with as an excuse when dupes start showing up anyway.
So tell me something, how many dupes have you seen in WoW? It's a valid comparison.

Well there is a secret. Ninja moles inside the PC.

Flatline wrote on May 7, 2012, 15:50:
Is it going to break dupers though? Where there's a will there's a way.
More than likely. It's unprofitable to cheat in WoW unless you're using stolen accounts, or they're using accounts that have been bunged off for powerleveling. If there is duping it's very small time, since every item that's created in the game is assigned a unique trackable ID. The one time there was a dupe bug in WoW, a few hundred thousand people had their ill-gotten T5 stripped off of them.

Oh wait, the only differences are that one has an RMAH and always-online DRM.
To be perfectly honest, if you're going to allow a RMAH, there's no real way to get around it. It's going to have to have an 'always on' connection if nothing to break dupers, and reducing the chances of seeing 29370879878909 SoJ's. Like we saw last time, you know, in D2.

True on that. Caffine from tea also metabolizes differently, meaning you don't feel it the same way you do from coffee.

Any good? I've looked at it but can't tell if it's worthwhile.

I honestly can't believe Torchlight II isn't #1.
I've looked at it, but I'll wait for reviews before buying it. Especially with 35 other games now waiting in the wings to be played and beaten.

There is always a market, it's knowing where and how to exploit that market to make money. I play the currency markets to supplement my expenses, I'm good enough that I make between $4k and $10k/mo. So...yes.

That is unfortunate news. The 15% cut pretty much guarantees that you wont be able to make any significant amount of gold - or even a profit for that matter - buying items which are listed below market value and then reselling them. That's a shame, I used to enjoy doing that in WoW, but the margins are typically less than 15% of the undercut price.
I used to play the AH in WOW got quite good at it, made 50k-100k a month without breaking a sweat by the time I stopped playing two years ago. Gave everything but 11k away when I stopped just incase I started again and needed seed money. Well I've played 3 times since I resubbed out of that 11k I now have 86k in gold pretty good turn around using only 3k of that to start off with. Now if only the markets could give me a turn around like that.

Besides, even with 30% lost, you're getting a 70% for nothing but playing the game, and if you're playing the market correctly again you should make a good return. I figure I should make enough to cover my wow 1yr sub out of this, and maybe some extra on top from just casual play.

That's not true. If it was true then you'd have to wait for terrorists to blow something up, or for child molesters to ruin a kid for life.

Seriously, stop and think about it for a second. We arrest people for planning to do things all the time. If we wait for them to actually do it we'd be screwed.
It it true to a point though. You still have to have compelling evidence to prove that the plan is more than a plan and they're in the stages of enacting it. The only part of law in the US or Canada that allows otherwise is traffic law where no mens rea is required.

Ah hudson, if you weren't so bitter ... well I just don't know. But things wouldn't be quite so interesting.

Yeah to be honest man, not much of that anymore unless you're ordering the super-duper-deluxe edition with the automatic ass-polishing kit.

That's like asking where the cloth maps are.

It's crazy to ship so full of bugs to your customers, at least from what I read there tons of issues with this game.
Been in the beta for a long time, have yet to see it 'full of bugs' except for the minor problems between release patches. And those get fixed rather quickly.

Product full of bugs? Not so much.

Hell, sometimes way back I wish my general isp email was only down for an hour. Rogers had a 4 day outage, ody 3 days, huron.net and NNT were both out for nearly a week. An hour? Fuck people are whining about an hour?

23mins tonight, and they seemed to have fixed the problems with my shammy being stuck at 1% from 81 without a problem.

I deleted a char in 2010, 2 years later I lodged a ticket to get the char undeleted. Within 15 minutes my char was back, this was at 11:30PM Sydney time. I think the service is pretty good.

I have played many mmo's and so far Blizzard's CS for WOW is the best I have seen.
Yeah same here. I've undeleted a character before and got fast service on it within an hour. I once fudged up, and lost items in the mail because I made two characters with identical names. Got all the items in about 30mins after I filed a ticket.

They are slow on bots and other things like that. But the upside with bots is it gives you plenty of time screwing around with them. Like drowning them, or throwing them off cliffs, or training them into other cities that are the opposite faction and watching them get slaughtered for hours on end. Or training elites on them...yeah fun times.

I'm still wary; I couldn't stand the gameplay mechanics in Witcher 1 one iota.
You shoulda bought it right off the bat. I hated them the same way in the first witcher. Got used to it though after a second playthrough. Witcher2 thought? Leagues above. It's almost like you were walking along a stream and found a gold nugget the size of your fist.
