Might be better off learning Japanese, it'll probably take the same amount of time before SE brings it over. Besides you can become passable at it within 2 years.

The change they have about zero experience from kills, only from quests, seems HUGE. I understand the reasoning, but that seems potentially game breaking.
Well if you know what you're doing it's pretty easy to exp cap yourself out before act 3, and with that be overpowered even on the hardest setting. Something like this could make it very challenging.

People really like Ravenholm that much? I thought the Novac was prison was the most well done part of the game.
Novac was excellent without a doubt, but in terms of "oh shit, oh shit, oh shit" gameplay Ravenholm was it for me.

Hmmm, I didn't remember it. Anyway, glad it's cancelled, since Ravenholm was the worst fucking part of HL2.

Really I loved it, probably because not only was annoying but it scared the hell out of me, and very few things do these days. But I understand the whole "fsking hate it" bit, especially after my 4th playthrough.

Might also have something to do with more recent EU ruling on game sales/trading that Steam got hit with.

Even after not playing most of those games for years, I still remember them backward and forward.
That's kinda the nice thing about games that make an impact. I must have played BG and BG2, 30 or 40 times each and I still find new and interesting things.

Being realistic, they also skip Canada, though we're usually rated as the same and included in US sales numbers. Our largest group of sales is online, either ordering digitally or ordering physical goods online.

Lol I love when kids throw the word liberal media around, just parroting off crap they hear from other people, like it's some sort of insult. It's funny because most of the media is owned by conservative corporations.
Uh ... you might want to go look that up. The media is owned by major democrat backers and donors. Fox, is the exception.

Steam was the answer to a problem, consoles don't have that problem.
A problem that consoles don't have currently. Though give it a few years as publishers push for their own online distribution platform for consoles and see what happens.

Beamer wrote on Jun 12, 2013, 16:55:
Stop being dense. We're perfectly free to say that we don't think people should be able to make jokes about rape or make bigoted statements without being mocked and losing sales for it.
No one is saying that the government should arrest anyone making a joke about rape or bigoted speech. And, hell, that isn't free speech.
Except thats exactly what's happening now isn't it? Note "hate speech laws" and "human rights councils."

Two things you need to understand about free speech before you make an ass about yourself whining about it:
1) Freedom of speech means freedom from the government, not private entities or individuals. If I go into someone's house and call their mother a whore they're free to throw me out
Well no, that's not correct. Free speech applies to the general public to state whatever they want, it gives other members of the public to state what they want. Even to the point where public members may restrict your speech--though if you started saying it in front of their house/building/business that would be legal. It's meant to stop the government from running roughshod over people for saying whatever they want.

2) Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from repercussions of that speech. We have endless laws, civil and criminal, that penalize you for saying something stupid. If I write a book about how you enjoy killing kittens, you can sue me for it. If I yell "fire" in an airplane I can go to jail for it (technically you do not have the freedom to do this as it isn't protected speech.) Generally, the government can't stop you from saying something protected, but they can penalize you for it
In general it doesn't true, then again if you did write said book, that would be libel, maybe. Unless the author stated that that section was a literal fabrication. In which case, you fall right back to free speech. Yelling "fire in X" is different, and is a being that it endangers the public at large(see public mischief). And anytime the government penalizes you for saying something, you don't have freedom of speech. There is a fine line between endangering the public, and writing something/saying something as a literal fabrication to get a rise out of people. The latter *is* being penalized more and more these days. Even though it was considered free speech at one time, and it's all to protect someone's sensibilities.

Yeah. We're not really high on the shill priority list.
True, which means that the chances of dev's or people from companies we like/enjoy/etc are more likely to actually pop in, shoot the shit, and give us a heads up on how a product is doing/fixed/etc(see ME2 bugs that were stamped out on ME3) or even give us a heads up before news goes live on discounted titles(see Sins: Rebellion for instance).
