Rule on mushrooms: If you don't know wtf it is, don't eat it. Following that, puffballs are awesome especially fried in butter. It's finding them that's the pita.

Yawn. Another super corrupt snidely whiplash evil bad guy.

Why not break the trend and make him a genuinely good person trying to do a needed job in a city overrun with crime? Don't team up with Garrett, don't have a sudden twist, but have the balls to introduce a guy who is clearly an antagonist but is not a villain.
$20 today's kids don't know who Sindely Whiplash it anyway. :p Which is why they can get away with it.

But see that would make sense, then again it would probably fly over the heads of the "core demographic" who've never read anything more difficult than green eggs and ham.

The problem with the internet is simple. People clamoring online, or over the phone, or twitter or whatever doesnt really hold a candle to going outside and actually you know....protesting.
Give it 10-15 years and it'll flip. And the people going outside will be "weird, strange and perverse nutbags." While the people connected/jacked-in/etc are doing more for *insert whatever.*

So yeah the asian chick in the newest one is pretty damned hot. But that's the only redeeming part of the commercial.

They should also show the version number of the patch straight in the download window. Steam has gotten so confusing to use, you never know what patch you are on. And this is a real problem when you want to use mods. And Workshop specifically should NOT auto update mods. Broken about a dozen CIV 5 games for me with that nonsense....

Drop it into the suggestions forum. If enough people support it, it'll eventually make it into a beta build for testing. Or you can join the steam beta and toss your suggestions in there as well, since developers do post replies.

Because no one likes to be sued for breaching it. Well if you're in the beta feel free to dump all the pics and stuff you want. Useful tip though, they've got your username plastered over everything so you can't.

This was by the way major news here in Germany... and the diplomatic response was pretty damn angry. Maybe the US should hire some people who aren't total dipshits into their diplomatic positions....
You're acting surprised at this? Canada acted the same way under the Liberals to the US, the US acted the same way under Obama to the Conservatives in power. Diplomatic responses were also pretty damned angry, and then it dropped off the front page. Though under the Liberals they ran with the anti-US sentiment for over 5 years on it.

Heh, 16bit support... the memories....
Along with dip switches, and looking up IRQ pin layouts too. I don't miss those days, of having to modify hardware physically to set 220(or 240-60):IRQ3/5/7/9 on the card.

Only thing that pisses me off are the unit changes. Otherwise it's good, though I like Civ4:warlords better.

I was surprised to find that out as well. I figured that with both pista and 7 as transitional (offering both 32 and 64) that 8 would be the cutoff, and only offer 64...

8 was supposed to be only released in 64bit, but it got changed in the last year of development because businesses threw a hissyfit over it. So now it's slated for Win9, there's a few articles on why 8 was released with a 32bit version if you really want to go hunting but it's damned dry reading.

Aren't all of the processors it supports 64-bits to begin with? It would be a weird kind of stubbornness that would lead you to have a 64-bit processor but expect play high-end games in 2014 on a 32-bit OS.
There's a whole pile of people out there who are stuck in the "32bit is all I need" mentality still. Same as people who buried their head in the sand when 16bit support was dropped.

Maybe I made it sound like I didn't use or appreciate 64 bit? Right, in my experience only hard core gamers or computer system knowledgeable people use or know to get 64 bit. Obviously you guys know there are Win 7 & Win 8 32 bit OS.

I really don't mean to freak you guys out, but there's a whole world out there, who are not consumed by hard core games!
Nah. But your experience must be pretty limited, even at the local shitshop(BB/FS/Staples), you can't buy a ground floor PC with anything except a 64bit OS. Even the junk-o-tron 3000 at walmart comes with a 64bit OS now.

You actually have to specify a 32bit OS now, and it's easier for the named companies to have a unified OS base for troubleshooting.

Customer wise, they are cutting their own throat. It boggles the mind at how epically ****** SOE can be, at least half their customers use 32 bit OS. Only a minority computer professionals and gamers use 64 bit.
You mean a majority of gamers and professionals use a 64bit OS? Come on, going 64bit has been the trend since 2002 and if you didn't see it coming you're either blind, or ignored the writing on the wall. We're at the limit for 32bit, as such there's no point in writing things for it unless it's legacy required.

And let's be realistic, 32bit had a hell of a shelf life. Being that it was pushed into hard service in ~1988.

I remember one time I posted a joke here about Windows ME and some guy actually popped up to defend it. This was sometime last year too.
Just further proof that WinME wasn't an OS, but devious software used in mind control.

Seriously? You're bitching and moaning over 15MB of memory in use, and under 0.1% of CPU usage while running on a multicore system? Do you also bitch and moan over VLC being resource hungry.
