No space battles, probably cut for DLC... rumors of "on rail AT-AT's" and non-flyable Y-Wings to bomb said AT-AT...
Wow if any of that is true, that's awful

Of course we're living in the world of Kickstarter madness, so I'm sure Remedy could make Alan Wake 2 if they really wanted to.
Would definitely back that.

They're all tied up with MS though

Have you noticed a recurring trend of certain people thinking they're cool by being outspoken, and conveniently disliking what people are enjoying? There's always at least one who wants to come into the thread where everyones having fun, and drop their turd, just to see what happens.

It's a plea for attention. "Notice me!", they cry.

Well I've got no issue with people disliking something, but exaggerating to a point where it's ridiculously negative is annoying.

The game is a monumental technical achievement. You can hate the gameplay all you want, but this engine is mighty impressive.

I originally thought this looked kind of interesting, but it appears pretty shallow in this trailer.

Could be good, still

There is simply no other game that can match GTA V's scope and graphical fidelity at this kind of scale.

Comparing this to a one-dimensional game like Crysis is laughable, Slick

just go to teh Youtubes and watch some Unreal 4 engine demos. Now if 5 was using that, it'd be worth crowing about. Oh but wait, consoles can't handle that sort of work.
HA

I love Unreal Engine 4, but a game with GTA V's graphical and overall complexity using UE4 would probably run at half the speed, if that

The majority of the new graphics thrown in for first-person mode, look like they'd fit into Vice City's tech era, rather than modern GTA.
This is a pretty ridiculous comment.
GTA V is one of the only games I've seen use proper parallax mapping for surfaces and real time depth mapping for things like footprints and tire tracks.
Some of the texture detail up close is astounding. Others, not so much, sure.

But to say the majority of the graphical details are akin to Vice City is plain ridiculous.

It looks like it's ingame, and all the models and effects are the actual ones used in gameplay, but the animations are definitely tailored for the trailer.

Either way, this is going to be pretty awesome.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the performance. It's silky smooth with all options set to very high in 1080p, no MSAA, and only high res shadows enabled in advanced options.
The game is gorgeous.

Specs: gtx 970, 3570k, 16gb ram, SSD-hybrid drive

Enjoying the hell out of this game.

I was playing it exclusively in first person which is immensely immersive, but I found that I missed out on cool happenings during some of the story missions so I switched to 3rd person now.
I'll no doubt go back and try first person again once I finish the story

Visually, I find this to be the most impressive game I've ever seen. The amount of stuff going on at once is next level. No other game even comes close (we'll see how JC3 does).
Maybe my perception is warped somehow, but is this game not absolutely stunning to look at?

Man... gotta change me trousers.

There really is no other gaming experience like GTA. especially now with FPS, at least for me, you feel so attached to the world.

I actually check my blind spots changing lanes and look behind me to back up when driving. It's crazy immersive.

And I feel kinda bad when I do bad things... kinda

There's a camera mode you can set to high, but it's for 3rd person driving.

First person driving is very claustrophobic, and I don't use it much.
Oh my mistake, thought you said there was a camera option for in-car.

Yeah, it's pretty tight in there. I feel like like the FPS camera in general is a bit low, almost like you're 5 foot 5

After all the pains I went through to get this working, it is well fucking worth it. Game is unbelievably good. Attention to detail is what astounds me.
How do they even optimize a game like this? Crazy
Caladell wrote on Apr 14, 2015, 20:13:
I can't even get the thing to run. Well, it starts up, and I can go through all the settings and such, but I can't actually play. Start the story mode, and it just sits there loading forever. At one point last night, I let it sit there for over an hour, and it still never loaded.
Trying various things again today, but so far, no luck.

[edit] Also, how do you go about playing online? Do you have to play the story for a bit? I see no option for online.

Try this solution
