Game looks great but as others have said looks far too scripted to be a random encounter in an open world environment.

I bet this will run at 720p 30 fps on PS4.
I sincerely doubt many games will run at 1080p and 60fps on PS4 and the next XBOX, since devs will want to up the polygon counts and post processing at the expense of framerate.

Anyone remember Rollcage?

Kind of off topic, but frenetic carnage based racing brought it to mind.

I'd love for a studio to remake it with dazzling visuals and fun physics.

I used to constantly play it to The Matrix soundtrack

Django was awesome.

Some scenes really could have been cut shortened - including one of the last shootouts - but I thoroughly enjoyed it

It won't win, though.
My bets are on Zero Dark or Lincoln

I'm sure the game consists of more than demo derbies.

I have faith in Bugbear. Flatout 2 is one of my favourite racing games along with RBR

News Comments > Death, Inc. Prototype Demo
3. Re: Death, Inc. Prototype Demo Feb 19, 2013, 22:14 siapnar

Pretty cool. I played the prototype but the concept is not all that original. Just seems like a standard RTS except less depth and your units can infect other units.
Granted, I didn't read the WHOLE kickstarter, but i got the gist of it.

I don't see how the 300,000 pounds goal is justified with a game like this. 100,000 USD max seems more like it.

EDIT: I felt bad deleting the prototype since it's actually kind of fun
The graphics and animation remind me of Twinsen's Odyssey, one of my favourite games of all time.

On a side note, I'm not sure why people love Shogo so much. I don't remember it being particularly notable. There were better mech games out at the time (Heavy Gear, Mechwarrior and Earthsiege) and there were better shooters out there too.
The mech play wasn't really what grabbed me, it was the on foot gunplay, as ItBurn pointed out.

I just loved the meaty feeling of the dual pistols and way enemies reacted and died to gunfire. The blood sprays and over-the-top attitude of the game were also awesome.

The explosion and blood effects were ahead of it's time.
Just struck the right chord with me.

Granted, it had it's share of problems.

11. Re: GRiD 2 Gameplay Trailer Feb 15, 2013, 19:11 siapnar

I think when GRID popped on the scene it looked extremely impressive in comparison to racers of the day.

Now, the sequel, which doesn't immediately look to offer much innovation (and no cockpit view) isn't impressing.

Honestly, after seeing the difference in quality between the "demo" and the "final" I will never order a gearbox product until there's a clear consensus on what the final game looks like.
Thanks for the link nin.

If that's not evidence enough, dunno what is.

Does it ever show anything 'shocking'? I moved on after they talked about minor lighting changes for 2 minutes. I thought the well lit glass tunnel looked better than the one from the demo anyway.
Dude, everything looks better in the DEMO footage

Speaking of Homefront - somewhat off topic - it did get pretty mediocre reviews (by today's weird standards), but from what I've read the story seems to be really dark and immersive.

I saw a clip of the opening sequence which looks pretty damn intense.

Anyone played it? Thoughts?

That's a terrible example. I love Hitman, but for the first game at least 60% of the levels were downright awful, and I've never heard any Hitman fans deny it.
All I have are fond memories of it. Can't remember hating many levels, but then again, this was a long time ago.
I also get Hitman 1 and 2's levels mixed up sometimes. Hitman 2 had superior levels, I remember that at least.
