I know Cutter and a few others here have really enjoyed the beta and found the game to have some promise. It being Cryptic the missions are entirely combat focused so they're no great shakes, but some people are already building more lore/story/rp oriented quests which is what the saving grace will ultimately be. Grouping is fun, the dungeons are amazing, in-game VOIP is crystal clear. The major downside looks to be the nickle and diming of everything and that everything is grind oriented in order to encourage you to spend money because of PWE. That may be fine in the asian markets but it doesn't work here and it'll likely kill the game entirely if Cryptic can't manage this. Moreso than anything it makes me a sad panda that's there a real need for a true NWN successor and there isn't one.

You know, it really wasn't all that long ago when people spoke about "the land of the free" they actually did so unironically. Excellent article and spot on. And for god sake, don't listen to Beamer, he has no clue what he's talking about as usual. It's why I keep him on ignore.

I drive very aggressively - and I've taken advanced driving courses. I'm a superb driver because I have the right mindset and I'm always 100% focused on my driving - do not use phones, eat, etc. - and entirely situationally aware. A huge part of driving is the psychological aspect of it which most people will never master.
As for tickets, I always get one now and then, but I fight them and win! This is the Ontario site Ticket Combat that's provided me all the necessary tools I ever need to win from how to request information, to filing a Stay of Proceedings and arguing in court. Find one for your province or state. I suppose you can use the general information however and just need to look up your laws in your own Highway Traffic Act. I have yet to be convicted of a ticket in the last decade.
Stop making excuses Whedon! Just break your stupid contracts and focus on Firefly. What about your original contract with it...the one with out hearts?! Damn you! 
And loving Ass Creed 3 so far. Ran into the wee hours with it.

I think that's actually the case in some places that they do look into whether you were on a cell or not. I know if someone witnesses it the cops will check phone company records and you'll be charged. And they should be. Jesus, it's pathetic how many people just can't separate themselves from their fucking phones for a while.

I don't know about that. Have you seen what some of the boardgame and PnP RPG systems have been doing? They've been crushing it huge. Blowing away video games actually. Several of them are close to 1200% over their funding goal. It's nuckin' futs.

I never said special, I said different. People who are generally more socially and environmentally concious fall into the KS demographic much more readily than the RealityTV/fast food crowd. A lot of the nongaming projects are mostly socially and environmentally progressive.

Doh, missed the Anno sale, oh well I've waited this long. Think Ima grab Ass Creed 3 today though seeing as it's now at $25.
Anyone got a spare Arma III key I'd appreciate it. I'm dying to check out the Scuba Steve portion of the game in particular.

Not at all. I'd say people that are more likely to crowdsource are a more distinct group that fall into a community. Casual gamers won't, nor will mainstream console players. Even for non-gaming related funding I'd say most of it comes from people who walk to the beat of a different drum. That's why I get so pissed when I see rich people trying to use KS when that's not what it was intended for.
