Valve's flat management bullshit is great for smoking weed and getting your freak on, but for actually creating real usable products in a timely fashion and supporting them, not so much. 10+ years on and the Steam client is still a piece of shit. Half-life 3? Yeah. Even if they ever get this thing to market, would you expect timely rollouts and support from them? Um, no. This is a market for companies like MS and Sony, not Valve.

Oh, don't do that. It was so amusing to watch you flounder last year.

(Hey, leamme alone, Cutter was just about the only guy who finished below me!)

Last year was just odd. And I don't recall where I finished but I thought it was somewhere around the middle.

The authorities should be stepping in and seeing if charges should be brought against them for fraud. The major problem with crowdfunding atm is it's the wild west and it's only going to get worse until enough people get burned before the feds step in and regulate it as they should be now.

Everyone who gave them money via Kickstarter got their funds returned to them, via the rules of the site itself.

If you mean the $12,900 they've gained through their web page donation button...well, those folks kind of deserved to get fleeced. Only an absolute idiot (or Putin himself) would give money to West Games through their shady, under-developed, spartan-esque website.

It doesn't matter if they get refunds, it's still a felony act that needs to be investigated and prosecuted - the theory being it will aid in preventing future scams. If everyone knows you can just fleece people without consequence it's bad all around. And considering how much law enforcement exists these days and the absurd amount spent on it by society they can start doing their fucking jobs.

Yeah, gonna try pick with my head this year instead of my heart. I felt like the love child of Benedict Arnold and Judas Iscariot picking the Seahawks over the Packers, but if Seattle is in the same form they were last year they're probably bound to be repeat Superbowl winners this year.

That seems completely valid and in line with other punishments that have been meted out for things like rape and such. Oh wait, I forget, most rapists never actually see prison time.

Of course, if you pirate a movie you don't buy it, since every pirated copy is a lost sale, and if you don't buy a movie, you're not paying sales tax (or in the case of the UK: VAT) over it, depriving the government of income.

And THAT, my friends, is the absolute worst fucking crime in any socialist society.

Remember this gem from that cunt Leona Helmsly? "We don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes."

There never was any integrity in gaming journalism but bloody hell, this shit is now being done in the open and nobody does anything about it. That's the scandal.

Good. I'd rather it be out in the open. Most of the time it's not, but we're led to believe everything is honest and above board when it isn't. It's like all the doping athletes. They all do it, so why not be honest about it and have a Druglympics?

Plus, it is quite dated and campy. It would be a cool style, a vision of the future as depicted in the 1950's. Shiny skin-tight space suits, and mainframes that spit out punch cards.

Edit: I looked it up and learned it's called retro-futurism.

I want a retro-futuristic house.

What scandal? Jesus H. Christ, gaming journalism has always been little more than another form of marketing. So worrying about "journalists" taking payola for favourable reviews is laughable at best when they've been doing it all the time anyway. They were just getting cash, swag, and junkets instead of hummers. It's a complete non-issue unless you're dumb enough to believe that there was some level of integrity there in the first place.

Ok, the guy was an obvious dick but 3 years form what amounts to the theft of a $5 DVD? Universal lost 5 million bucks? And how did they do that exactly? So that's what they're really charging this guy with and they have no way to prove it whatsoever. Now that's scary. At most the guy should be treated like any other shoplifter, which is to say a slap on the wrist because this sort of shit ends up costing the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars on behalf of a company that doesn't pay taxes to begin with.

Families also use to be large as well. People shouldn't be having more than a kid anyway - if that. The world is already overpopulated and it's only getting much worse. It's not hard to see the end result when you have several billion people with no way to look after themselves. Even ducking the grim reality of that the market has to reach equilibrium by itself. Who's going to buy these self-driving cars - or anything else - if they haven't got any money? This is why this shift of wealth to the 1% can't last. It's why we see bloody revolutions down through history. It just hasn't hit critical mass yet. I suspect around 2050 is when the powder keg will go off next.
