I find a lot of the combat encounters to be really unbalanced and aggravating so far. It's more grinding than fun at this point. I don't think 1SP per level cuts it. Makes things far too slow. And the UI still needs a lot to be desired - sticky windows, stackable hotbars, etc.

Or maybe he was acting.

Or maybe he's a man who's been married since 1992 and has children of his own and so is empathetic towards the needs of children?

Or maybe the center of the moon is made of cheese.

Ars and their ridiculous clickbait articles. They're as bad or worse than sites like Kotaku and Boing Boing sometimes. Rolleyes

I for one am very happy with my kickstarter investment.

Yeah, this is the only so far that I can say the same. Can't wait to see what some people do with the editor.

Are you still not happy with Shadowrun? You've been praising the Berlin campaign a lot. Or were you not a backer?

Yeah, I backed it, but I'm split on it. Berlin was great. The original campaign, not so much. And I still don't like the stylized direction they went with the art. I wanted a realistic, real gritty world and characters. Not impressed with W2 so far. And obviously it's too early to tell on PE.

totally unsubstantiated
The source code is not enough, you'll only believe what the NSA tells you? Maybe you haven't been paying attention for the past year, but we're way past the point where secretive intelligence agencies can be trusted on anything.

And maybe you need to adjust your tinfoil hat if you believe everything you hear/read.

There's something about BoingBoing and Cory that aggravates me and I can never figure out exactly what it is.

I dunno, the fact that all he does is engage in hyperbolic clickbait maybe? So some German site makes a claim - totally unsubstantiated - and thus the NSA is watching Boing Boing and its users. Rolleyes It's a garbage site.

I heard rumors about a 4th of July sale on Amazon. These rumors appear to be unfounded.

Yeah but they usually do a sale around this time. Maybe because Steam was early this year they want to space it out a bit more.

He's probably going to reboot a real Blizzard. That sure would be nice. Still can't believe he's Don Pardo's son.

I've tried so many times to get into this series but I couldn't.
Wonder if this one will be any more n00b friendly than Civ5 was.

Are you able to play other 4x games? Maybe it's just not your thing? I was so addicted to Civ 2 that I stayed up two nights in a row playing. Literally like 60 hours straight or something.

Yeah, that may be a big part of it. I've been playing Civ since day one. And it's always the only game that's always on my desktop no matter what. I've literally sunk 1000s of hours into it. So jumping into each new iteration isn't much of a learning curve, but for someone coming in fresh it may seem a bit overwhelming.

As I recall there should be a good intro tutorial for it. If not just start an easy game.

I don't even know why they bother doing this. Yes, we understand why they have to with TV shows, yet it's entirely unnecessary - and doesn't work well - with games. That's why almost everyone else never bothered with episodic gaming.
