Harold Ramis, an incredible all around talent. I grew up with him from Second City onward. Nevermind the acting and directing, he wrote some of the greatest comedies of all time! Animal House, Caddyshack, et al. A true talent and he will be missed.

Man, don't you just love the American "free market". Yessir, all that competition driving better service at lower prices certainly is something to see! Oh wait, that's what happening in all those "socialist" countries! Hrm, well how is that possible?!

I was talking about leaving DayZ. There is no incentive to finish the game with all the cash that's rolling in. This is why I won't buy into this alpha release scheme that many Devs are milking to the fullest.

That's exactly the problem. And these guys have no history, no track record of any sort. They came up with an idea, got it going, got some help, lucked out because it took off, but then when they see there's actual real work and commitment ahead of them they split. I'm glad I've never given this guy dime one. Starbound is the only early access I've done so far and I won't be doing it again precisely for the reasons we've mentioned.

People don't pay me in advance for unfinished products so I don't see why I should be doing the same for them. Maybe, perhaps just maybe if it's a well known developer with a solid history of getting good things done, maybe then. But no more new kids on the block.

Everyone tore apart Dark Messiah but that is a fav of mine, and I get some DM and Dishonored vibes from Thief. I am looking forward to digging into this game and seeing what's wrong.

Dark Messiah had a lot of problems at the time but the potential for that game is effing amazing. That's one I'd dearly love to see brought up modern standards. That's a game that definitely deserves a remake!

I'll let you all know how it is tomorrow. As stated previously, my hopes are not up, nor have they been up - even remotely - since the announcement of this game. The upside to that is I can't be too let down because I never really expected anything good to come of it. I have a feeling it'll be like most of the reviews - shit compared to the originals, but for what it is on it's own it'll be average. Certainly not worth full price and probably not replayable ever again either.

No, release schedules are for responsible businesses. Imagine if every business worked that way, 'Oh your order? You'll get it when its done. Could be a month from now, could be a year. I dunno.' Poor scheduling is a sign of mismanagement. Regardless they stated this a while back anyway and indicated March'ish would be the likely release. Which is at least only slightly off target where a lot of these KS' projects are hitting the year or more mark being off schedule. That's completely unacceptable.

The concept of W13 was a great one. Too bad they didn't have better writing for it. I think they should have approached it from more of a pulp angle and made it more Indiana Jones adventurish.

This is a common criticism I'm seeing leveled at Banished. There's nothing to do but recoup from disasters. There's nothing to aspire to. Once you get a village up and running, that's it. Then it's harvest wood and food, recover from disaster, rinse, repeat. Nothing to research, nothing to advance to, nothing to trade, no conflict.

I'll grab it when it hits 5 bucks one of these days, but so far it sounds like it's a great start to what would be a really awesome game if there was more all around stuff to do.

Why would you buy something that low end to begin with? if you can't afford it all in one shot, do it piecemal.

Given the piss poor adoption rate you'd think someone would clue in and suggest they lower prices on retail copies.

Well, the first design would be far too much work for console kids. Hell, they're too lazy to even press a button to jump which is why there's no jumping in this game.

Farscape is pure cheese. It's basically bad fanfic made into a TV show with no real budget to speak of. Bad writing, bad acting, bad effects. If you're needing some sci-fi watch Babylon 5 or Battlestar Galactica instead. I actually need to sit down and the Babylon 5 series in its entirety one of these days.

Yet they're not lowering the price for consumer versions and they wonder why people won't adopt. I'd still be on Vista if Darks hadn't given me a Win7 key. And I sure as shit don't intend on needlessly givng MS $100 every 3 years when I have an OS that already does what I need. Now, it they were selling them for $15 yeah I'd take the plunge and so would everyone else. But that would make sense though.
