Hey Guys,

Just got hit with a virus from Blues. Went to *SNIP* page, and immediately Symantec came up with an interception (I don't think there's anything wrong with that page. Subsequent visits returned nothing. I think it was random, via the ad banner). When I looked at the page, I could see that the top banner was missing completely, so the ad must have been replaced with the download code vector. It tried to download setup.exe. Virus info via Symantec Endpoint here.

Yeah, you should edit your original post and remove the offending link. Just email the link to Blue. Thanks for the heads up though.

Again, this militarization of police needs to stop. And this sort of shit needs to be vetted. You can't have cops violating peoples civil rights just because they received an anonymous phone call. It's like they love doing this because it then allows them to rationalize these sorts of escalations and violations and demand bigger budgets all around when they're not needed to begin with. I hope this guy sues the shit out of them and wins big. Putting a crimp in city budgets through lawsuits seems to be the only way reform is going to happen these days.

Calling swat on someone for shits and giggles should be thirty years in the federal pen.

Because these swat guys are coming in on a bomb threat, and they are high strung to hell; you make one bad or suspicious move and they'll end you right then and there.

Such lulz. So the asshole who did it, @screwpain, hope you enjoy getting assraped for a large portion of the rest of your life. Miserable piece of shit.

1. Prison sentencing reform is a serious issue. I abhor swatting and those that do it, but 30 years doesn't fit the crime. Swartz was threatened with 35 years for sharing docs. It's a problem, given that the USA has the world's largest prison population.

2. Prison rape is not a joking matter. If you're convicted you should server your time, not be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment too. Most swatters are kids that don't know better. Ruining their lives forever due to a prank is too much, serious though that prank may be.

Anyone that stupid needs several years to reflect on just how dumb they are. As stated, this could easily get someone killed. I'd say a 5 year sentence would be fair. After all there has to be a deterrent in there as well. Most tools would get out after a year or two anyway. How bad a parent do you have to be if your kids don't understand how dumb and dangerous something like this is?

Then stop calling the language you speak English if you don't want to follow the rules.

They don't. They call it American. Even in Canada with the extraneous u's we spell it balked. We're sort of halfway between English and American. And as the Idiocracy grows in both counties we're definitely becoming more like them. I understand it's no great shakes in Britain these days either however.

In the resto biz virtually everyone smokes. It's just part of the culture. Late nights, lots of booze, party hearty, etc. It's slowly shifting....like glacier slowly. It'll change evenutally, but I wouldn't hold my breath. After "quitting" 5 years ago and social smoking for the last 5 I only finally really packed it in a few months ago. I can say now I'm well and truly done with it.

And fuck Joss Whedon he's a perv with a foot fetish anyway.

I'd not heard that. Maybe you're thinking of Quentin Tarantino?

There was a Cracked article the other week that mentioned how Joss Whedon shows bare feet in his shows a lot, which to them means he has a foot fetish. Cutter probably read that.

I think it's really funny that the veracity of the foot fetish is what we're discussing, instead of the the entire bewildering content of that comment.

It's not bewildering. Go look up reactionary and learn what that means.

SWAT threat locks down school, gets Counter-Strike player slammed to the ground…

This shit has to stop too. I wonder how people aren't getting nailed for this?

The SWAT shit itself needs to stop. This militarization of the police and these oppressive tactics are the real problem to begin with. Really? A fucking SWAT team just shows up because of a prank call?

Jesus H. Christ. Does it ever end with those people? Is there one fucking thing in the world that doesn't somehow upset or offend them? There's just no winning with these PC assholes. It boggles the mind. I'm really curious where they even got the idea that they get to go through life without ever being offended. Boggles the mind. Honestly, this is the sort of shit that makes me reactionary enough to want to move to Mississippi and join the Klan or something just to spite them.

People make threats against you and your family members. You blog it first THEN contact the police?!? WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?!? Get your fucking priorities straight!

Probably because she's lying for attention, or someone is lying. This has bullshit written all over it. And fuck Joss Whedon he's a perv with a foot fetish anyway. And fuck feminists. No, we're not equal and I'm tired of hearing that we are when we are very clearly not. And then all these PC assholes wonder why they face angry backlashes. They can think whatever they want but shut the fuck up about it. All your whining doesn't help your cause one bit, in fact it does the exact opposite.

Didn't you guys see the blurb earlier? EA plans on doing over a billion in DLC this coming year. That means all their games from this point forward are essentially bare bones and you'll have to pay through the nose for a complete game. Glad I don't buy there stuff.

Yeah, it's really bad actually. Feels like the car is constantly hydroplaning all over the road. There's no "stick" to it. Loads of people in the forums complaining about it. However, I've tested some higher end cars which are way better. So the problem isn't the physics, it's the game design which is....

Grind for ages for better cars and parts....or buy them with real money. You know where that goes.

Yeah... Thanks for the update. I was sort of interested in this game, but it heavily depended on the driving, and almost every preview / beta review states that it's basically just terrible.

I will gladly skip this then, which is good, because there are ton of other good games coming out.

Yeah, the whole thing from the driving to the mission design is just a complete exercise in frustration.
