So they stole $16 million. Now how much in bonuses did the Sr. Execs get last year, and how much money was allocated to their IT departments to combat the problem? I'm going to guess virtually everything went to the former and nothing to the latter.

I recall those sorts of days as a corporate drone. I cherished them. Whenever possible I always took the early shift and would come in around 6AM. 3 hours of blessed quiet where you could get a ton of work done. Taking off early, beating rush hour, yeah that's the way to go.

I wish Elite Dangerous would go on sale...$60 is a little steep...I'm having a hard time justifying it without actually having played it...

=-Rigs-=

Yeah, well it's $70 for us. Where the hell is regional pricing when you need it? Yeah, I've been reading a ton of reviews and watching a lot of Twitch and there's no way that cost is justified. It's still really just the shell of a game and is going to take years before it's really worth it. And by that time it'll probably be shut down because it's online only, derp! How are they going to keep the money coming in to run everything unless they start charging a fee or monetizing the shit out of everything? Yeah, much as I want a good space sim ED has far too many downsides to justify the cost.

Merry Christmas everyone...

...except Lizard Squad. You guys can burn in hell for messing up Christmas for all the kids getting consoles today.

Wtf is going on with all these intelligence agencies around the globe? 100s of billions of dollars globally spend on these agencies and not a one can find one of these assholes? In fact they don't seem to do much of anything at all except make grandiose claims about threats that never materialize or what a great job they're doing which always turns out to be a grandiose lie. So why do we continue to waste so much money on them?

And WTF do these Lizard Squad assholes want to begin with? Just being jerks? Find a few of them, make an example of them by giving them life in prison then see if the rest of them are so keen to engage in anymore shenanigans.

Still haven't bought a thing from Steam. Prices just aren't near what I want on my wishlist stuff. However, I'm buying more stuff from G2A now because they have some seriously good deals. At this rate it looks like they're going to be the goto service from now on. I also just snagged Teh Banner Saga and Lego Batman 3 from GMG as GMG is having it's 25 points off promotion so those two games for $15 instead of $20.

So I treated myself - and my mom - to some Kona coffee for Xmas as I've never had it before. It is pricey, but it is worth it! Damn it's smooth as the proverbial baby's bottom. Now that's what coffee should taste like! How does the Jamaican Blue Mountain compare?

Bowling used to be immensely popular - #1 sport in America actually - and where is it now? I just can't begin to fathom why watching people play video games would be even remotely interesting. Then again, I don't understand why people watch network shows or reality tv either, so there ya go.

DAI is really good and as blockbuster as it gets but it's too much of an MMO IMO. I still prefer good ol' isometric CRPGs like DoS, Shadowrun, etc. As impressed as I was with DAI - and it was worth the day one purchase - I still like Dragonfall and DoS better - W2 was ok but just came up wanting.

Pillars of effing Eternity better be out soon.

There are plenty of artistic "sports" in the Olympics that aren't really sports per se, however they all require a degree of athleticism which is beyond what most normal people can do. Anyone can sit on their ass all day long and play games.

i think that this is exactly the reason that esports are actually a superior global medium for competition. because there IS no physical barrier to entry. the olympics are about genetics. michael phelps is genetically superior in swimming, that's it. you might as well have events like: "the tallest".

the fact that a growth-stunted bangladeshi kid can compete on the same playing field as me in an esport is what makes it far superior competitively speaking.

And that's why Olympic sports should be reserved for those freaks of nature who won the genetic lottery for their sport. It's supposed to be special. Watching Usain Bolt easily crush a world record is pretty effing amazing to watch for those 9.58 seconds. Watching a gymnast do a near perfect routine is incredible, or bobsledders whoosing down a track trying to balance speed, time, and not dying. That stuff is mightily impressive. Hell, even badminton and ping pong take huge endurance and the reflexes of a ninja. Watching a fat kid play a video game? Um no.

Anyone can sit on their ass all day long and play games. Hell, there's a reason expressions like "armchair quarterback" exist. You might think you're as good or better than Aaron Rodgers, but you're not. This is ridiculous as best. Christ, half the crap in the Olympics shouldn't even be in the Olympics as it is. Hell, it's entirely overpriced and corrupt now anyway. Why the hell would any taxpayer in any city want to foot the bill for it?
