The fact they started it as a joke makes it even better.

Could be interested, could be. Wish it were a little more CRPG though. Nice to see a dystopian setting at any rate.

I've been watching a lot of Near Death Experience (NDE) videos on YT lately. I'm not 100% certain it's a true after-life reality but hopefully Robin is in such a heavenly place now. A recurring theme seems to be that those who suicide often have to repeat a life here until they 'get it right' but there are exceptions to that too. Either way, he'll be missed.

There's no heaven or hell, that's all jive. If there is more after this than the Hindu's are probably on the right track with a sort of reincarnation type deal. Energy is neither created or destroyed, only transferred. Out constituent atoms and molecules get re-used over and over. The most fascinating thing to me is though that we basically replace every molecule in our body about 6 times over the course over the course of an average life span. Yet, the essence of who we are remains. And we are also all unique with unique physical characteristics. Why all of that randomness and diversity if there's nothing more? Or as always, Picard said it best in Where Silence Has Lease....

Jean-Luc Picard: Considering the marvelous complexity of the universe, its clockwork perfection, its balances of this against that... matter, energy, gravitation, time, dimension, I believe that our existence must be more than either of these philosophies. That what we are goes beyond euclidean or other 'practical' measuring systems... and that our existence is part of a reality beyond what we understand now as reality.

Really sad to hear about Robin Williams, it's being reported everywhere now it seems.

Yep. I'm depressed as hell now...

Yea, well, don't go killing yourself. Cowards way out and I am more pissed than sad.

That's selfish and wrong. If your life is never-ending misery - and for some it is - then death is a real mercy. I believe there are most definitely many valid reasons for suicide. And until the advent of Christianity and the guilt that religion has needlessly foisted on us in the western world suicide was considered brave and noble. Even necessary. Much like the Japanese. A life without purpose and joy is no life at all.

I hope it wasn't suicide for no other reason that we have to hear the media drone on about it for the next 3 months till the next big story comes along. That aside, I'll miss the hell out of the man. He was always one of my favourites in everything he did.

Talk is cheap. Whiskey costs money. I don't have anything against ol' John-boy. He's more than paid for Daikatana. If he can deliver, power to him, but I won't hold my breath.

Well fuck-a-duck. One of the fans on my 6 month old Sapphire 7950 has stopped working. That company has obviously taken a turn for the worse as I've never seen a more unfriendly way of doing RMAs. The basic gist being they're actively trying to discourage anyone from doing it. So do yourself a favour and steer clear of Sapphire products from here on out.

Why? You get away from city lights to see faint objects not bright objects. You could stand in the middle of the Las Vegas strip to look at the super moon.

Because I like driving in the country at night.

Most importantly, I think there needs to be substantial amount of money put into an oversight committee to make sure these kids are actually going to class and LEARNING and PASSING classes. If not, then remove them.

Student athletes don't really go to class. They get falsified grades/diplomas instead. Really we should just revoke all their degrees, and treat them as they are. Paid athletes who work for the NCAA.

Yeah, I don't see how them going to school will benefit most of them. If they're really jacked on a free education they'll make the most of it. Otherwise they can just get BS degrees like a BA in "Communications". Let's face it, if they didn't have the athletic ability they wouldn't be going to college at all, but likely the military instead.

Looks great - potentially at any rate. I'll be happy to buy it if it gets made - and is good - but no more crowd-funding for me.

Sorry, but adding modes to the arena does not seem to be moving this game closer to the very long list of goals that it has. I understand not wanting modellers to sit idle while you are programming, but is RSI seriously telling me with this that their programmers have nothing to do but add modes to the arena? Seriously?

I'm sure they would say something like "it was a quick and easy addition" I think they should focus more on making the basic combat simulation better like Elite Dangerous did. If they want to throw some resources at something how about TrackIR support, it adds a new dimension to these types of games where once you play with it enabled you can't play without.

Right now there are people trying to hack it into Arena Commander but it's just that a hack and you can only "freelook" you can't fire weapons while using TrackIR.

Maybe they're fighting against some brick walls in the CryEngine and it's putting entire teams in a waiting pattern. I think someone posted about how they seem to be more focused on making demos for the next game convention than really going head first into development.

They probably only have a handful of people that are really capable of working at the code level of CryEngine.

Shouldn't that be the responsibility of the good people at TrackIR? I mean, if they want to sell the things they should be supporting them in every game they can.

The frozen steak tip is interesting. That's a massive waste of oil however. Thanks but I'll stick to defrosting in the fridge.

Good for them. The NCAA has been raping these kids for far too long. Yet another corrupt, multi-billion dollar 501c that needs its status revoked and to start paying taxes.

So my fingernail finally fell off from my accident a month ago and if you've ever wondered what a finger looks like without one it's pretty damn weird. Alien, is the word that comes to mind. It's strange we have them to begin with. I understand the practicality of claws or talons, but fingernails are all but useless to those outside the mani/pedi business.

Lots of people make schlock that makes them a lot of money. It's still schlock however. And not everyone's in it for the money. Some people have nobler aspirations. So yeah, I view Cliffy as I would any other gold-digger - with contempt. He's a self-deluded gold-digger IMO.
