So why doesn't that deaf group provide the subtitles in that case? Great comment on the absurdity of this....

There is no way that every business and facility can appease every disability.

Imagine if people went around suing because every text doesn't come with braille. Can people start suing governments because street signs are too high up and don't have braille?

Where does it end? That should be part of the modern discussion.

And why would massive public or private enterprises need, much less want, to spend a fortune upgrading needlessly? If most people are just using Word and Excel why would you needlessly spend tens of millions of dollars on new hardware and software licenses? Obviously MS isn't giving them enough incentive to want to change.

It's just that most of the content is so bad it makes you wonder why people even try. Unless you can knock it out of the park with something genius like Burger King's Left Handed Whopper don't bother. Most of them come off as sad little cries for attention.

I thought the whole big thing about Eternity was that there were no "bad builds"?

Yeah, that's where Sawyer's hubris falls down. No bad builds...for how he builds characters. Lottsa people say otherwise.

Also RIP : OnLive

So much for your whole "All gaming will be done like this in the future!" huh, fellas? Glad you're gone.

Infrastructure not quite there yet, but I think this will be a thing at some point. EA and Activision would love to put all their games on a service like this and charge people monthly instead of having to send software out into the wild to be pirated or played forever without a way to monetize. Not that I want that to happen, but I'm sure they've got people trying to figure out how to make it happen.

That won't be happening anytime soon. Even if there was G fibe everywhere most people aren't going to spend $70US a month on it. Even then it would only be big pubs like EA/Actiblizz/Ubi doing it. There's always a lot of consumers that will never go with that model regardless, and that leaves a market to be catered to.

I am now about 10x more interested in buying it [on sale].
I was too until I saw the price on Steam. $70 here in Canada and I said NOPE.

Well it is a full-price game, $60 in the US. If they went by the exact exchange rate, it ought to be $75 CAD.

Either way, that's why you wait for a sale!

Yeah, well GabeN seems to love regional pricing so wtf is our 25% adjustment?

BBC Celebrates 10 years of the new Doctor Who by putting it on BitTorrent.

That's an interesting experiment using BT for the distribution platform. $12 for the bundle of 10 epis. Good price for what you get. I hope it doesn't get pirated too badly.

Well seeing as Canadian taxpayers footed the bill for Dr. Who we should be getting this for free, right?

I will probably never play this, since it offers no neutral or good choice paths in the story. I do hope it's successful PC port sales, so rockstar will get off their dumbasses and port Red Dead Redemption.

Well, technically you don't have to be a bad guy. No one is forcing you go commit crimes in-game. You can play virtual tourist and just travel around taking in the sites.

Well it's supposed to hit 15 today and 10 tomorrow, but the next week is back into well below seasonal - below by 10 degrees on average, sigh - then the week after that looks like it's supposed to start getting back into the norms. Fingers effing crossed.

Celsius or Fahrenheit? (22 C today and 26 C tomorrow - here).

I wonder if my neighbors will stop washing their cars outside. I wonder if the water restrictions will really be enforced.

Celsius, Bob. You know, like what the entire planet except youse guys use.

And optionally, Canada.

http://weather.gc.ca/forecast/city_e.html?bc-74&unit=i

All Canadian weather sites do that for the benefit of our American friends who would be lost without it.

The only people that use imperial all the time here are the grocers. They still advertise things in pounds because it sounds like a better deal. Five bucks a pound sounds way better than 10.40 a kilogram. So whenever I go grocery shopping I always ask the produce and butcher guys to convert the price to metric for me for sport.

Clearly you're unfamiliar with Deadpool, otherwise you'd know its one property that should have an R rating. Deadpool isn't for kiddies. At least he's not supposed to be, so that means this is going to suck. Probably as bad as Green Lantern.

Ahhh, good on her. That's bonza, mate! I don't see how that's obscene, unless Oz is still behind the times and women being topless in public is illegal.

And that scumbag only has to serve 2 years in a country club and gets to keep 200k in the process? The fuck?!

"Something is wrong here," Harris Bruce Taback, Mills' attorney, said in court. "This compass that is in him needs to be reset and counseling is going to be a great help to him."

Yeah, he's another classic sociopath for whom counselling won't make a lick of difference. People like him have to be barred from ever owning and operating a business ever again.

Yeah, it's a good time still to grab some graphene stock for some long term growth.

I'd suggest that people simply taking engineering as fallback career over law probably won't make very good engineers. Unless they're doing an engineering degree and then a law degree to be really specialized. There's still big money in law for that.
