Half Life and Deus Ex are good things to reach for. The Walking Dead and Mass Effect, not so much. So they were asking for 200k and now only 50k? Pass.

Rolleyes

That's all that any company cares about.

You couldn't be any further off the mark. There are plenty of good companies out there.

Is that a gratis copy or are you buying it? If it's the latter it's your money to waste.

Do you have inside info, or are you just prognosticating? You seem to think this game will suck, but Ken and Irrational have a pretty good track record. And unlike A:CM, the trailers and gameplay previews have looked pretty good.

No, they don't have a good track record. And this game has been in development hell since day one if you've followed any of this so far. People coming and going every day, out of control budget, PR people in panic mode. The whole thing just reeks of failure. Pay attention.

I love the Wild Cards books

I hope you mean this as a joke or something. I looked at one which featured a leatherclad hulk atop a motorcycle with a sword and just laughed my ass off. It looks like fantasy for 13 years olds and considering the quality of fantasy sometimes that's saying something.

Then why don't you shut up and actually try reading them before making such a dick comment. Yeah, only some of the best authors in SF/Fantasy have contributed stories to that series but that obviously doesn't mean anything because you don't like the cover art. Fucking jackass.

Anyway, this game has had the stink of failure on it for a long time now and they know it. I'd suspect they're probably in sheer panic mode at Irrational right now.

Are you insane? Just look at the production values of this game & the developer behind it. This game will be a large success just like Bioshock was. It's clear with that statement you dont have a long history of gaming....
Ken Levine has a solid record

Yes, I'm only right about everything 99% of the time, but I am mistaken now and then, but not about this.

Interesting choice for a game though knowing some Magic players I know the collectible card game genre is as addicting as crack. Blizzard may be into another gold mine here.

I started learning about the whole water issue year ago when I was doing a lot of reading about Peak Oil and the water situation is a hell of a lot scarier. This Blue Covenant: The Global Water Crisis and the Coming Battle for the Right to Water is very informative and scary - along with her first book called Blue Gold writ back in 2003. All over the globe there's already a great deal of conflict between indigenous peoples and big biz controlling their water rights.

Couple that with the fact that we're running out of fresh water - and oil - and the population is set to double - at its current rate - within the next 50 years and that's a clear recipe for disaster - which is to say resource based wars on global scale. The planet needs a 1 child only policy and it needs to be state sanctioned.

The WoT concept was a great one. Interesting world and cast of characters from the Aiel to the bad guys. All the needless padding and fluff destroyed that series. I think it was around book 4 or 5 I finally gave up on it.

Unlike Jordan however George has his fingers in a lot of other pies beside GoT and that's fair play. I love the Wild Cards books. Who wants to work on the same stuff all the time. And while he may have been able to force himself to finish GoT faster it wouldn't be as good. It has to come organically - phrasing.

That's probably why Zelazny is still my fave writer. No unnecessary, extraneous bullshit, just good characterization.

Shit like this only further confirms for me how scared shitless and desperate Take Two/Irrational are. They're paying for a good review out of the gate in order to hopefully secure some pre-orders before the general public figure out the game is a turd.

Yeah, don't forget the marketing budgets on games like COD, Halo, etc. are 100+ mil alone. That's fucking insanity. Anyway, this game has had the stink of failure on it for a long time now and they know it. I'd suspect they're probably in sheer panic mode at Irrational right now.

Yeah, I'd like to know how everyone gets paid. Is it a pool with base salary then points on additional sales? Who's getting paid what? I'm starting to get really of leery of backing well known designers who are already rich(ish).

Here ya go.

Thanks man. The statement he makes is confusing though.

Gabe threw out some really concrete and large numbers to illustrate his point. “The most anybody has earned in a single year is $500,000, so they’re making content, selling it to other customers, and we have a revenue share with those people and their takeaway is $500,000.

So which is it? One guy make 500k or all the modders together? 500k for virtual hats sounds pretty excessive for one guy.
