Exactly. Corporations haven't had any loyalty to workers for over 20 years now, so why should the opposite be true. Fact is these guys are in demand and they know it. Someone offers them better hours, money, and perks why the hell would they stay? Why can't this CIO match or beat the offer? His whole spiel comes off as some dinosaur who doesn't grasp why young people don't want to work 24/7 for slave wages. The problem here isn't the techies, it's the CIO.

Any why the hell is Jobs getting a Grammy for the ipod and itunes? Did the Napster guy get a Grammy? MP3 players were around for 6 years before the ipod! Apple's "innovations" amount to the Japanese concept of just knocking of other peoples stuff with a slick marketing campaign.

Probably because the ones working on Origin and the ones working on BF3 and the ones working on the VOIP via battlelog (Sonar or whatever they call it) were different teams in different places.

I am guessing they want to, at some point, integrate the whole battelog style functionality directly into origin so that they can bind games to that service and create a game-spanning community functionality. If they want to add it now to BF3 they probably gonna have to change both BF3 and Battlelog fundamentally...
