You can certainly argue that it could/should have gotten a 5, but when I compared it to some recent games I did that got a 5, I enjoyed it less, so I scored it less. Don't let the score matter too much: just read the review and decide for yourself, as you did. Too many people put too much emphasis on scores these days, gamers and publishers alike. I just hope I put enough detail in the review so that people can say "what the hell...by what you said it should have gotten a 5 or 6!" and reach their own conclusions based on content, balance, and personal value.
My biggest decisions are usually between a 6 and a 7, since the latter gets you put on the 8/8 games page. |

Honestly, getting the games for free and setting my own schedule is worth not getting paid. I like playing new games and I like writing, so it's a win-win, though of course it'd be even better if I made money off of it |

Re: DLC Publishers make DLC because people buy it. Stop buying it. It used to be free until the pubs realized people would pay freakin' $15 for four maps. |

I am more positive about Breach than most of the gaming press. I think the combination of detailed (individual bricks and planks, non-scripted unlike BC2) destructible cover and the cover system makes for a methodically paced alternative to CoD and Counter-Strike, and I like it. Unlocks take a really long time to get, but I never felt at a drastic disadvantage being a n00b like in BC2.
That said, the developer released dedicated server files Friday, and I haven't been able to play a game since: apparently, whenever somebody leaves a server it doesn't free up a spot for somebody else, leaving new potential players at a constant loading screen with only ALT+F4 to exit the game. |

| They have both in-game text chat and a server browser. People are just freaking out because the dedicated server file has to be tied to a Steam account for the moment. The Internets have to find something to complain about. |

| How about we make games for everyone, and everyone will be happy? I don't like adventure games or RPGs, but that doesn't mean I don't want them to get developed or promoted. With online distribution, if there is an audience for it, it will get made. I personally don't care if the "big" publishers care about the PC as long as I can play things like The Witcher 2, SpaceChem, Breach, Starpoint Gemini, Bronze, APOX, et al. |

Because you can't criticize something that isn't finished yet (well, I guess you could), so all you can talk about is the good stuff. So that's why I rarely do them (4 in the last five years). |
