Economic balance is horrible, and this game is the very definition of a GRIND.
Truth. There is no sense to the economics: goods are randomly produced in different locations, and demand and supply also fluctuate randomly, making it impossible to earn any amount of consistent income. On top of that, it takes an exorbitant amount to afford any upgrades.
My video review is going up tomorrow.

Was there a specific reason to make this entire game turn based on a grid?
Because it uses the Battle Academy 2 engine.

I'm reviewing NS2: Combat right now and the developer sent me an extra Steam key:
ATQRV-ZTVRX-AQQAI
Enjoy to whoever gets it activated first!

Here's a video preview I did of the beta about 3 months ago. Haven't had a chance to check out the current version because I have so many games lined up for reviews.

OK, I probably shouldn't waste my time with this, but here goes.

PC gamers should pass on it... Has no 3 click, no clue what the community wants
3-click sounds like what YOU want, not the community you seem to represent. 3-click is nothing like a real golf swing, while using a gamepad or the mouse is more like a real swing. If you want 3-click, you should obviously not play this particular game. I do agree, however, that the mouse controls are very difficult and sluggish, so I prefer to use the gamepad.

Course designer seems cool, but after 5 minutes of using it, you realize you are handicapped
The course designer is the most powerful tool I've ever seen in a golf game. I have no idea why you state you are "handicapped" while using it. The lack of specific details in your critiques speaks volumes
Closed Betas wrote on Aug 19, 2014, 18:40:
lastly, no real competitive play, other than stroke
This is an outright lie, and reason to dismiss your opinions altogether. There is also match play and four-ball, plus multi-round tours and tournaments.
Please provide an informed opinion or do not provide an opinion at all.

Thanks. Surprised there's so much left unfinished, I remember hearing about this 3 years ago.
I think some of the stuff is at least partially finished, it's just not bug-free enough to release to the public build. There is a detailed list of what's done and not done on the website.

50 word impression?
Right now there isn't much to it: just a basic collect-resources-and-build-stuff city management game. You get occasionally invaded by fishpeople and have to send your military crew over and shoot them in the gills. I like the free-form building construction (you zone out the building dimensions and add components manually), and assigning colonists to work crews and having those crews automatically complete tasks you designate has potential once it's smoothed out. The developers have yet to add detailed colonist memories, cults, objectives, native factions, multiplayer, combat, additional monsters, and vehicles, so there is still a lot of the game missing in action.

What I saw of this when Giant Bomb covered it actually looked pretty awesome. I was waiting until it was out of Early Access. Curious if it's been polished up enough.
It's in pretty good shape right now, although I don't know how the current Early Access version compares to what's coming out next week. I highly recommend The Golf Club.

Actually the new Grid Autosport is a pretty good racing game for people new to racing games.
I don't feel the controls are as twitchy as previous Grid or Dirt games and it eases you into the racing as opposed to throw you in the thick of things like a proper sim.
I agree; I am having lots of fun with GRID Autosport. Here's my video review of it.

I'm reviewing it now. I did a video preview of it about a year ago; it's basically the same now, although more polished. The game mechanics are interesting and getting a full (3v3 or more) game online can be pretty fun. The AI bots for single player are bad.
