Yes! And grab The Missing Link DLC while you're there.

Thanks! Would have missed that completely without the reminder.
Also grabbed Alan Wake at 50% off. Has also been on my radar for awhile.

Deux Ex too, put that one off long enough. Who knows what else.

I got 300 hours out of the game and made enough off the RMAH to say it was a free game and then some so it has served its purpose.

It's simply less than I was hoping for in terms of longevity compared to my past experience with Diablo II.

Echo this almost exactly, substitute 300hrs for 200hrs. Had my fun, now it is no longer fun and have been fortunate enough to sell off a good portion of my DH gear to put towards my credit card. Will grab the expansion in the future and start over.

Nobody at Blizzards knows how to make a H&S worthy of the fame Blizz has in this genre. The people mainly responsible for D2 left long ago.

<ahem> And they're making...

They also made Hellgate: London. The original Diablo developers were not, are not, and will never be gods no matter how much some people on this site think they are in their attempts to bash today's Blizzard.

Played, beat the game on multiple difficulties. Consensus is that the first few levels are kaka. Agreed, mostly.

They attempted to parody the current gen of FPS games in the first few levels, and failed IMO. Once you get through that garbage, you got Serious Sam 1/Second Encounter X 30. Game is worth it, in the end.

Progress is progress, sir. Kudos.

I remember when I first started Inferno Act 1 solo and I wondered how I would even get to the Leoric. Now I'm attempting Act2 Boss (avoiding Spoilers), sans RMAH (for now). Got him to about 25% in final phase but his breath got me about the same time the 10% Double India Pale Ale slapped me in the face.....that's my excuse.

This 1.03 patch should be hilarious. Nerf Inferno, but then nerf the affixs people have been using to remotely succeed in inferno.

In other news I finally got to act 3 Inferno after spending 10 million (and still wasnt able to replace all of my crap items). Since so many said act 3 is so much easier than act 2, I was really happy to have the worst behind me. Only to die 20 times on my first few steps in act 3. "Most annoying mobs are in act 2" my ass. These fucking flying suckers that shoot fireballs and kill in one hit up close and the fallen that get resurrected right beside me only to kill my 550 resistance ass in 2 hits are the most annoying things Ive ever encountered. I really cant imagine how much I will hate this game once I get to the centipede arm guys... (yeah yeah, Im bad with names).

FWIW, Congrats on making it to Act 3 Inferno. Gonna attempt tackling Zoltun Khuul's tower tonight. Later on, not looking forward to the first stage of the Act2 boss with his adds....that should be a disaster.

theyarecomingforyou,

I was not and am not looking to pick a fight, nor was I in any way trying to come off the way you colorfully described me there.

I stick by my comments and advice about protecting ones self. At the end of the day, your brothers account has been hacked. Even if I'm wrong, and I will happily admit I am if proven so, have you at least talked to him and said "Hey brother, maybe you should run the latest version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware just to be safe just in case there is a problem so it does not happen again".

You're really trying to play the "blame the victim" game? How pathetic and immature! You have absolutely no idea about his computing habits.

If you say so, sir.

I know enough about your brothers computing habits to know that he allowed a form of software onto his computer to give someone access to his password. Either that, or he shared his password with someone he shouldn't have. I mentioned my thoughts on the authenticator a couple posts down, refer there.

For what's it is worth, I hope Blizzard helps him out.

Two more opinions about battle.net and security:

1) an authenticator should be/better be required for accounts using the RMAH. The point made about a potential nightmare for Blizzard when the RMAH is valid, even though that nightmare is 99.999% result of user error (sharing passwords/virus's/trojans/malware/enter 50 other reasons here).

2) I have no seen credible reports or proof of authenticated accounts being hacked. A blue post, if to be believed, recently stated not one "hacked" account was one with an authenticator. Let's forget that point though. If you have been hacked, and have an authenticator, then you have much worse problems on your hand than losing your Diablo 3 items. The "hacker" would have to have real time access to what's happening and being input into your computer. The authenticator code refreshes every 30s or so, that's the absolute maximum (if the code was just refreshed) amount of time they have to see that code and attempt to access your account.

Basically what this means is that this person is watching everything you're doing. Enter a credit card number/expiry and security number, that hacker has it. Banking information? Vulnerable. Email access, he's got it. If you have been hacked and have an authenicator, I recommend an immediate high level format of your hard drive and to contact anyone (banks etc) that may be involved with any information you have given out over the Internet.

My brother's account was hacked! They've stolen all his gear, gems... even what he had equipped. Blizzard need to get their shit together, as this is only going to get worse when they launch the real money AH.

It is not Blizzards job to keep trojans, backdoors and other malware off your brothers computer for him. That's his. Tell your brother to keep his various software like Flash, Windows Update etc up-to-date, get an authenticator and stay off porn/torrent sites.

Looks like RunicGames TL2 website is being DDOS attacked.

Hahahaha, you immature Blizzard lovers.

You get all bent out of shape because
1) You got shafted with D3 but refuse to believe it. Blizzard4ever!right?
2) Jealous that TL2 is more real ARPG than Diablo 3.
3) Paid 3x more $ to only lease the game.

But, nooooooooooo, you won't admit it. You won't feel ashamed of yourself. You musn't! right? lol. Instead, you'll act out and do something immature by putting your l33t linux skills in motion and DDOS attacking poor old RunicGames.

Haha, you're just a bunch of fuckers, and you know it.

G'day

Watch, Deger

Torchlight 2 is gonna be fantastic, looking forward to a number of things including Uelman's soundtrack because he's a boss. There's room in my life for both games. In my opinion, by picking one game only over the other, you're denying yourself two great experiences and settling for one. But I suppose what makes a great experience varies heavily to people here on this site.

I am loving Diablo 3. I do have a slight stutter with the asset loading issue from time to time, I was able to reduce it by switching sound from 128 channels to 64. I do not really notice it anymore, but it's there. I would not make a hardcore character not because of the stutter, but because of the game's difficulty. Normal had its tough moments, but I am getting assaulted in Nightmare. Game is hard.

  • Health Potion Cool-down... wtf?

  • No more "mana" ball (in regards to a potion for it), now a kill "charge up" to fill... wtf?

  • I, for one, will not miss potions spam. It was a disaster in Diablo 1, and while the belt improved things in D2, it still sucked. Having to stop playing, go to town to get "pots" was brutal, broken and not fun. In my opinion, anyway. Now whether the health globe system has its own issues in higher difficulties, we shall see but so far I really like the change.

As for the mana thing, well every class has a different resource that generates differently. Helps make the class a bit more unique from another. Mana potions, like health potions, I will not miss. I may not fully understand your second point, but Diablo 2 had "kill charge ups" too. Everyone wanted leech rings, it was almost required for certain classes. So, you had to kill to charge up anyway. I like how some of these D3 resources make you keep going, keep attacking, keep playing. I am not being taken out of the action to go refill on potions (and also town portals, identify scrolls).

I just want to point out what I think a number of us do already know, the runewords change the effect of the skill and sometimes the look. Ray of Frost does have a few variants, vid here

Edit: This vid is a year old, and made before runestones or whatever were taken out so things are probably a bit different but the point remains, the skill has multiple variants.

Demon Hunter and Wizard for me all the way. I haven't found Ray of Frost particularly interesting at all, I hope the later runewords improve it substantially. I was upset when they moved Disintegrate up to a higher Clvl because that skill is extremely fun, palate swap or not.

With the wizard in the beta, I loved getting surrounded by as many enemies as possible, hitting Frost Nova (with the runeword) and then Wave of Force immediately after. That is a potent combo.

Not reveal the price point, anyway. Plenty of WiiU stuff will be shown at E3. Many seem confident they're going to change the name as well. I am a bit surprised at the lack of a pricing announcement. I wonder what that's about.
