My brother's account was hacked! They've stolen all his gear, gems... even what he had equipped. Blizzard need to get their shit together, as this is only going to get worse when they launch the real money AH.

It is not Blizzards job to keep trojans, backdoors and other malware off your brothers computer for him. That's his. Tell your brother to keep his various software like Flash, Windows Update etc up-to-date, get an authenticator and stay off porn/torrent sites.

Looks like RunicGames TL2 website is being DDOS attacked.

Hahahaha, you immature Blizzard lovers.

You get all bent out of shape because
1) You got shafted with D3 but refuse to believe it. Blizzard4ever!right?
2) Jealous that TL2 is more real ARPG than Diablo 3.
3) Paid 3x more $ to only lease the game.

But, nooooooooooo, you won't admit it. You won't feel ashamed of yourself. You musn't! right? lol. Instead, you'll act out and do something immature by putting your l33t linux skills in motion and DDOS attacking poor old RunicGames.

Haha, you're just a bunch of fuckers, and you know it.

G'day

Watch, Deger

Torchlight 2 is gonna be fantastic, looking forward to a number of things including Uelman's soundtrack because he's a boss. There's room in my life for both games. In my opinion, by picking one game only over the other, you're denying yourself two great experiences and settling for one. But I suppose what makes a great experience varies heavily to people here on this site.

I am loving Diablo 3. I do have a slight stutter with the asset loading issue from time to time, I was able to reduce it by switching sound from 128 channels to 64. I do not really notice it anymore, but it's there. I would not make a hardcore character not because of the stutter, but because of the game's difficulty. Normal had its tough moments, but I am getting assaulted in Nightmare. Game is hard.

  • Health Potion Cool-down... wtf?

  • No more "mana" ball (in regards to a potion for it), now a kill "charge up" to fill... wtf?

  • I, for one, will not miss potions spam. It was a disaster in Diablo 1, and while the belt improved things in D2, it still sucked. Having to stop playing, go to town to get "pots" was brutal, broken and not fun. In my opinion, anyway. Now whether the health globe system has its own issues in higher difficulties, we shall see but so far I really like the change.

As for the mana thing, well every class has a different resource that generates differently. Helps make the class a bit more unique from another. Mana potions, like health potions, I will not miss. I may not fully understand your second point, but Diablo 2 had "kill charge ups" too. Everyone wanted leech rings, it was almost required for certain classes. So, you had to kill to charge up anyway. I like how some of these D3 resources make you keep going, keep attacking, keep playing. I am not being taken out of the action to go refill on potions (and also town portals, identify scrolls).

I just want to point out what I think a number of us do already know, the runewords change the effect of the skill and sometimes the look. Ray of Frost does have a few variants, vid here

Edit: This vid is a year old, and made before runestones or whatever were taken out so things are probably a bit different but the point remains, the skill has multiple variants.

Demon Hunter and Wizard for me all the way. I haven't found Ray of Frost particularly interesting at all, I hope the later runewords improve it substantially. I was upset when they moved Disintegrate up to a higher Clvl because that skill is extremely fun, palate swap or not.

With the wizard in the beta, I loved getting surrounded by as many enemies as possible, hitting Frost Nova (with the runeword) and then Wave of Force immediately after. That is a potent combo.

Nintendo is going to release the WiiU for the holidays...but not reveal at E3? Interesting.

Not reveal the price point, anyway. Plenty of WiiU stuff will be shown at E3. Many seem confident they're going to change the name as well. I am a bit surprised at the lack of a pricing announcement. I wonder what that's about.

My perception of the gameplay is only because I am unaware to alternative methods of doing things. I am suffering from growing pains, and I am sure I wouldn't have said what I said if I had a better understanding of the games systems and how to achieve the build I want and make it badass. I had no idea about Fast Travel. I just looked it up and wow that would have been awesome last night

This is my first Elder Scrolls game, but I love sandbox and exploration. I am trying to stick to the main quest, for my first playthrough, while doing still doing optional quests and exploration here and there. My trip from Whiterun to Iverstead took a few hours because I kept on getting distracted by something else. Which is awesome, but I don't want to get so beyond overwhelmed like others have, or so I've read.

Yes, I am having issues trying to play the style I want to play. I am trying to go the Rogue/Thief route. Swords or Daggers? I dunno. Am I missing something on how Sneak works, cause it's pretty useless right now? Other qualms I have is inventory management. This is horrendous, constantly having to drop things when I'm in the middle of nowhere after every fight or chest is taking me out of the game every time it happens. I do not have a good idea, for example, what MISC stuff to keep and what's safe to throw away. There are a few other things; I am sure, in time, I will figure a lot of these things out. Yeah, I find some of this grindy and boring, but I am captivated with the world and intend to keep playing with the hopes that my second run through the game will be a lot more informed and thus, awesome.

Bought Skyrim this weekend, just finished climbing the 7000 steps, doing useless crap and then backtracking back to the place with a carriage to shorten travel time to continue the story. Derp.

AWESOME VISUALS! (1080p, Ultra Settings, 17 graphical mods suggested by the steam workshop). Boring ass gameplay.

Still, I think I'll get my $60 bucks worth by the end.

  • Upgraded sound

  • How do you upgrade perfection? Hoenig and Zur's music is perfect. You can't improve on it. The voice acting is perfect. The sound effects, how do you improve on them? How do you make a sword clashing with another sword better than it was in that saga?

The other points you mentioned Techie714, I agree with. I couldn't get BG1 to run in the BG2 engine with the mods, I tried many times so BG1 at 1920x1080 would be sweet. Textures and Graphics, well that'd be awesome but we'd be literally dealing with a "complete remake" over an "enhanced" version of the game if they pulled that off.

I know. So it seems the only safe way to play would be OFFLINE SP and or LAN play with friends. Say no to Actiblizz greed and stupidity.

I agree that's one way, but not the only way.

Free mobile authenticator, avoid the completely optional AH and play games only with those on your friends list. imo that's a viable alternative safe way to play.

They are referring to the keyboards with the little LCD screens for showing game info like heath and ammo.

    Ah! Thanks for the clarification.

Edit: fwiw, I was using a Logitech keyboard during those few hours without problem.
Edit#2: Hell, I've been using Logitech Peripherals since the 90's. Is support of these devices the newest and greatest thing in the 10's that I'm not aware of? I've had a good laugh tonight.

Amazon updated their listings with the date, and I just switched my CE order over to free release date shipping since I have Prime.

I don't see anything on my order offering "release day shipping" yet...did you change yours to one day and there was no charge, or did it specifically list "release day shipping"?

    Thanks!

Keep an eye on this post: Amazon Preorder Woes

As I am in Canada, and amazon.ca isn't selling the CE (yet), I can't get release date shipping anyway I, however, will not be caught dead buying from EB/Gamestop, where they remove the plastic and fiddle with god knows what inside the game.

Closed realm hacking was and still is rampant. No, I don't know exactly how they do it but it most certainly helps that all the game assets are client side. Hell, you can still find a few people with "White Rings" in current ladder. I also find it amazing how goldfarm sites like d2legit and the others have "perfect" versions of every single item/unique/runeword mere hours into a new ladder season. Mere hours, hundreds if not thousands of perfects which are statistically improbable to ever find even one. In order for Diablo 3, in its current state, to have single player/complete offline mode they would have to redesign the entire game to save assets such as item generation/storage/monster generation client side. Giving hackers direct access to those assets opens up pandora's box for a repeat of Diablo 2 closed realms.

I am not saying there won't be cheats and dupes, but Blizzard has designed the game in such a way that they can see exactly what's happening where/when/how like they can in World of Warcraft. Hacks/cheats may possibly happen but they'll be almost immediately dealt with (as they have been in WoW), offenders banned and items deleted. With their dependence on a stable economy for the RMAH, you know Blizzard won't just sit there and let hacks run rampant. No, I don't think online only will prevent hacks, but I know Blizzard won't, as they did in Diablo 2, sit on their asses and do nothing about it. So, Blizzard has direct control of the entire game as it's online only now. A lot of people don't like that, and feel Blizzard has a noose around all our necks. I don't, I believe this will make my own gaming experience a lot better and as someone how does plan on selling items on the RMAH, a lot more secure. So, yes, it does seem RMAH is a major reason why this "DRM" is put in place and it is unfortunate it negatively effects players that have no intention of using the RMAH.

To a remark someone said earlier about "what will your defense be when people are selling hacked/duped SOJ's one week into release". Well, that would be a pretty blatant demonstration on how god damn stupid some people are, because anyone knowingly selling hacked/duped items on the RMAH would almost immediately have their CDKey/Battletag and all that stuff perma banned. Good waste of $60+ dollars for those idiots. I'll probably laugh.
