I've been seeing a lot of "Halo: DOOM" B.S. in the forums I haunt. Shame too, because I'm liking what I saw. Maybe being 40 and having gamed for 34 years changes a man, but I loved the gore, kill scenes and items-spilling-from-corpses stuff. Reminded me of Brutal DOOM in a way.

I'm really looking forward to next spring. Time to build that new rig.

Halo?

Damn, that Xbox generation of people playing an FPS for the first time caused a lot of PR damage to the 90's PC FPS genre. The scent of Halo I smelled not here.

I would like to believe the ability to play it as both Emily or Corvo will add some extra replayablility and story to the game. I am sure there will be perks for doing both.

Maybe different powers? The video, showing Emily's powers reminded me a lot of Venom, with a sort of symbiotic vibe (specifically being able to go from one location to another via a sort of slime/goo).

I noticed that too (Venom reference); but Emily's transportation skill in the trailer was exactly Blink with a different skin. Which is fine, a Blink skill is expected. It is yet to be seen how it may be different from Corvo's or Daud's, but I am sure she'll have a few unique and quite different skills to herself. Like that (Venomesque?) Shadow Hands slow time movement...whatever skill that was at the end.

Here's the DOOM E3 2015 gameplay trailer.

Once more, into the fray.

<watches video> So, Doom, mixed with Serious Sam. I'd buy that.

DOOM 3 with SS to me.

I didn't get the claustrophobic, dark hallway scare tactic overdone to death feel here. It felt different, at least to me, then Doom 3.

Don't think I saw a flashlight either during those trailers. That's a good f*cking sign.

Would have preferred actual gameplay but still happy that a sequel is being made. Also great that you get to play as a female protagonist this time, though the ability to choose Corvo is a bit of a cop-out.

I would like to believe the ability to play it as both Emily or Corvo will add some extra replayablility and story to the game. I am sure there will be perks for doing both. Then there is the part about choosing if youre chaotic or not as well.

I am also looking forward to seeing the Outsider fleshed out a bit more. Damn interesting character, especially in the DLC. I guess he decided he found Emily interesting, for some reason.

Grab New Vegas, if nothing else. Granted, it's a different dev, but it's a great game.

Not sure I am willing to kiss the summer good bye; I know it's good. Everyone loves it, it seems.

That may have been one of the best E3 presentations I have ever seen. Dude hit it out of the park.

I have never played a Fallout game before. Think I'll start Nov 10.

This Snapmap should be quite interesting....

The Doom 4 trailer(s) looks good. Way less narrow hallway crap from Doom 3.

So the 5 mill stretch goal is done. They added a new boss revenge mode at 5.5 million

Wouldn't be surprised if it made it. Longshot, but so was 5 million dollars.

Yeah. Also, they have apparently raised around $200k through paypal and have been including that number in their stretch goal crossoffs. As of this moment it's 5.06 Million on KS + the 200k so actually 5.26 million. Think, at this pace, it's a done deal.

My last EB experience: went to get a copy of Dead Island so I could play it at a LAN party. Take it to the counter and get handed an open box. I mentioned this to the cashier yokel, who tells me this is what they do for all PC games, so they can keep the discs behind the counter "but don't worry, it will install fine, nobody's used the key." Get to party, install game, *CD key in use*.

Call EB, "I dunno what's wrong, once you've opened it you can't return it though." Yeah, opened the sticker that fucker put on the box he already opened.

Emailed Steam, got told to send them a copy of my bill, 24 hours later they email me a new CD Key.

Fuck EB Games. Fuck buying games retail.

Fuck buying games retail ...ehh no

Fuck buying games on spyware steam ..YES

Is that you, Origin?

RIP Kirill. Truly a brilliant composer. This piece from D:OS really grabbed me and led me to search him out and learn about his work. I never found this lovely rendition of it until now.
Thank you for the links. Kirill was truly a genius and amazing guy. I remember how he offered much of his music for free on his old-school html website for years.

Being a musician and amateur composer, I can only marvel at Kirill's brilliance. His music exuded passion and intensity and ... simply the essence of the human spirit. I truly think he was one of the greats that simply never got recognized outside of Russia and the limited gaming world.

I leave us with this fitting song from Original Sin. The power of this tune, for those who's spirits are open, truly remarkable.

Well said.

Been a fan of his since DD launched in 2003. Followed him since. Brilliant isn't even a sufficient enough word.

RIP Kirill, and thank you.

Due to the nature of the exploit, and the steps needed to take advantage of it, I don't have any problem with the bans.

I wish they could improve their bot detection technology, I suppose you could call it their DRM. It's definitely a problem, and one I, foolishly, hoped wouldn't exist by Blizzard making the game online only. Silly me.

They need to hotfix in a better drop/salvage rate on Arcane Dust. I often have more Forgotten Souls than them and it just feels broken.

It's the Common Debris that I have a problem with. I pick up all Blue items, ignore all Yellows, during whatever run to keep up on Arcanes. But for those first few days of a season, you don't have enough of anything and it sucks. It's also what makes new seasons fun.
