I meant Daggerdale, the D&D disaster. |

Sorry for the loss of jobs, but if they had made a better game, it might have sold more. I had high hopes for this game based on the press, but when I got the demo, I was completely let down. Looked like a single-player WoW knock-off and played like the crappy console to PC port that it was. Reminded me too much of Daggerfall Daggerdale to even consider buying it.
edit for game name correction. Daggerdale was so bad I tried to block it's name from my memory.

| "feedback from our closed and open marketing betas will help us determine an exact release date" notice the word "marketing". What this means is that when the pre-purchases taper off, they'll release the game. I personally don't plan on giving them any money until I get to try the game. This BS of only getting the beta access, 3-day head start, and bonus item if you pre-purchase (with no refunds, I might add) direct from them pisses me off. If you pre-order from any other outlet, you only get a 1-day head start and nothing more. |

| In my PnP days, I prefered ICE's Cyberspace to Shadowrun. It is really a shame that they never really tried to bring any of the ICE properties to the PC. Anyway, if a new Shadowrun sticks to it's RPG roots and is fun to play, I'd buy it. |

Finished my first run through last night. Make sure to watch all the way through the credits for a major WTF moment!!!!
BTW, first run was 36 hours. Mostly stealt/hack and alot of non-lethal takedowns. Already started a 2nd run on hard. Going to go full-on combat mode this time. Let the bullets fly!!! |

| One of the few games that I feel was actually better during beta. So many of the visionaries left after launch, including the main story writer and lead dev, that the game lost direction. The game as it plays now is nothing like it was at launch, and that is a sad thing. I stuck with it as long as I could, even getting 2 toons to max lvl and earning full faction gear with one, but I just couldn't stomach it anymore. I was so hoping it would finally fail and Marie would never be allowed to touch another game in her life, but leave it to GF to try to salvage this game and save the bitch that ruined it. |

1. If it's a HD remake of Carmageddon 1, that'd be outstanding. 2. If it's a new game that is true to the core of the originals (Carma1+2, not 3), that'd be awesome.
Anything lesser than the above 2 will be a huge let down. My thoughts exactly! |

Been playing since beta, and you have quite a few things wrong. First, the PvE is action oriented, not MMO-like. Different mobs have different behaviors. Some are social and some aren't (they are still tweaking some of these), some have HUGE aggro ranges (but stealth is somewhat implemented so you can sneak up on some mobs), and some have ranged attacks and will attack you before you get close enough to attack them (Devil's Own are murder on melee-only characters as they hammer you with assault rifles before you can close on them). There are equipment drops, but they are uncommon and only from sentient mobs (no chainmail from bunnies).
The game is classless, you level the skills you want to use. You can master one or two skills, or level them all evenly as a jack-of-all-trades.
The crafting system is incredible. You can craft almost everything in the game (including vehicles). Items queued for crafting continue to progress while you are offline.
The game world is HUGE and seamless, the only time you hit a load screen is when you respawn. Even entering instances is seamless.
Anyway, my wife and I love the game. If you try it, make sure to give it time, as it is much more complex than your average MMO. |

There is no Starforce. The ads are not in-game. You get a short video ad when you launch, and a repeat when you exit the game. That's it.
As for the controls, they aren't great, but the game is fairly enjoyable considering that it is free.

Eve? Are you nuts? I play Eve and the only comparison to Elite is in concept. The point & click flying in Eve completely removes it from the Elite-like category. It is more like Trade Wars than Elite.

The pre-vis system is a joint project between the software guys at LucasArts and the effects gurus at ILM. The concept was to have a software effects system capable of doing pre-production visualizations for movies with much less work. Before the creation of the pre-vis tools, they had to pretty much code an entire visualization sequence, which takes a long time. With the new tools, they can do it in more of a level-editor environment, which takes much less time.
They claim that these tools will allow them to bring the cinema quality effects of ILM to LucasArts games. What they don't realize is that no amount of "razzle-dazzle" can make up for bad gameplay. A turd with cool effects and the latest shader model is still a stinky old turd.

The gameplay and mechanics of Perimeter were very cool. However, the story was very confusing. It was hard to follow since it kept switching sides. You never really got to identify with one faction.
