just because GTA4 will run at a higher line of resolution does not mean the PC game will also have more polygons and higher res bitmaps than what we saw in the console version. So any average PC with an average nvidia/ATI card could run GTA4.

console gamers are renting it, not buying it especially now that the media hype is over.

The single player game is good but not all that replayable. There's not a whole lots of extras in the game.

Apple has _always_ talked about gaming in their press conferences and websites as a selling point for their o/s, new hardware, whatever Apple is pushing, but gamers know better.

Apple doesnt see gaming as a priority in its business plan no matter what this article suggests.

Reading that article explained to me why I dont like RTS games. It is too dependent on your speed with the keyboard and mouse and what the writer called "muscle memory." Bleh -- too hectic.

It sounds like MS doesnt want to make 1st party games anymore and they are consolidating. If I were working at Rare, I'd get out.

This is an interesting test for Amazon: will they dump all of the reviews or not? I'm sure the Amazon suits are sitting around a table talking about it today.

News Comments > How Publishers Punish Game Sites

by far most "game journalists" are 20-somethings, often just out of college. And they dont stay in the game reviewing industry for a thousand reasons, but one significant reason is that the pay for writing game reviews is too low to support a family on. So they head off to other jobs when they've got a spouse and kids. So when game developers complain, they might want to complain that "kids are reviewing our games," rather than "look how I got revenge at Ars Technica for giving my game a 7 score."

The NY Times gave it a very luckluster review, which is surprising because they usually offer fluff reviews that praise every game.

With SPORE, we might have reached the nadir of dumbed-down gaming. It is very polished but utterly devoid of depth.

Casual gamers will not love it: one play through and you've "seen" the game.

Some of those SW games from Lucasarts were terrible and it kept me from buying more of them afterwards. LucasArts burnt some bridges with gamers. KOTOR 1 was great of course.
