"I just want to play a couple of rounds before i go to work. This better be worth it, i've been waiting for a new FPS since BF2 is no longer supported by EA and doesnt even work on vista."
That's...odd...I was able to get BF2 running very well on a Vista -laptop- without any voodoo...

I don't get it...
So you can buy BioShock for 360 and play it on an UNLIMITED amount of consoles (or just rent it and save $55) but if you purchase the PC version you get 5 installs, unless of course you drastically change your hardware/buy a new PC...
What the fuck is wrong with people in charge of PC Gaming these days?
I suppose this dashes any hopes there will be a mod community for this game...
Further...Does it say on the retail box that you only get 2 (or now, 5) installs? This reeks of fairly illegal practices...

So...wait...
Wasn't the original subscription rate around $5USD/mo?
...so let me get this right. I get to pay MMO prices to unlock standard features that should come with the core game, but the game is not an MMO, nor is it close to one, really?
It sounds like Bill Gates' version of a Korean MMO pricing model. Free to play over there literally means free to play, with people purchasing premium items, or perhaps, premium accounts that unlock new features. The difference between the two is that free to play Korean games DO NOT CHARGE $50 UPFRONT FOR A NERFED GAME.
I was excited when this game was first announced, now I just hope it dies in a fire.
What's so wrong about giving people all of the game features that were promised and just releasing small pay for expansion packs ala Guild Wars or the various completely OPTIONAL Map Packs that millions of people purchase for popular FPS games on Live? They still make money hand over fist, it's like Flagship actively wants this game to fail...

I find the graphics in some Korean MMOs to be quite nice, though usually a blatant rip-off of Japanese anime styles, though not as well done.
As for gameplay, it has nothing to do with cultural differences but everything to do with copping out. MMOs are huge in Korea so every company wants to hash out an MMO and get it on the market to caash in on it.

The reason why Volkswagen didn't give them the rights to use the Beetle is the same reason why they didn't give the toy makers the right to use it for the toy line. VW doesn't want anything to do with 'violent' products/film/etc in recent years.
I really think its sweet that the new Camaro is in the film, however HotRod would have been a much better fit for the car. (And a much cooler character.)

Manhunt 2 is getting loads of bad press and it features animated cartoon violence...yet Hostel 2 features 'realistic' gore and much MUCH more grotesque and mature themes and it gets an R rating, the MPAAs version of an M rating.
Seriously, do all of these psuedo-Christian and socialist organizations even think about the dung that falls out of their traps?

I understand Sony needing to take a strong stance against "hackers" but let's be honest, if the PS3 got a homebrew scene like the PSP has, it would HELP sell consoles. I only bought my PSP because of the homebrew apps I saw coming out for it. It was a fantastic purchase and I can now use my PSP for viewing eBooks, non-PSP formated movies, playing Quake and other homebrew games, and a host of other things. I even purchased a few retail UMD games along the way.

... the day when the SimCity franchise I loved and grew up with was turned into an ATM machine for EA. I guess it's comforting that they didn't call it SimCity 5. I guess Will Wright is too caught up in his Spore to care anymore. Of course, Spore will be the first EA product in years that I will be purchasing.

I tired the demo for 360 on Marketplace, it wasn't bad but it was a rental at best.
Anyways yes, I was a bit ticked they nixed Sea Dogs 2 in order to rename it after the film, and since it was now a "Disney" game, it couldn't have all the features that Sea Dogs 2 was supposed to have, oddly enough that included a female player character as well, though the assets still existed in the game at launch. Gee...is Disney sexist?
Anyways...Pirates of the Burning Sea will probably be the best pirating game for a long time, best of all, there should be plenty of player competition to make it challenging.

I honestly can't understand why some didn't like Oblivion, I think this minority are the types that really need hand-holding in games and are quite incapable of finishing an open-ended game. (ADD perhaps?)
Fallout 1 and 2 were both open ended games, something Bethesda is very good at. Forum geeks can argue all they want but the fact remains that the Elder Scrolls series sells like hot cakes. Obviously quite a few people are finding it to be an enoyable experience. The bugs in Oblivion were non-existant for me, the gameplay issues were easily fixed by the fantastic community the game has, wouldn't it be nice if all games had a community like that?
Look at it this way...Bethesda is -very- serious about reviving the Fallout franchise, or else they would have just made their own post-apocalyptic IP, much like they did with Elder Scrolls. You're also kidding yourself if you think anyone else would have touched this. Bioware/Obsidian is too busy with their hands in all kinds of projects. EA as we all know would do a really bad hack job of it. Who does that leave really? Fallout 3 would still be dead in the water.
My only concern is that the violence, sex, and drugs remain. The original games had so much of them it would have given Jack Thompson a hayday if he wasn't too busy chasing ambulances back in the 90s. I have fond memories of my porn star kick boxer that could gib men with a single kick to the groin. Let's hope they shoot for an M rating with a devil may care attitude.
