In my case, what was "vital" to their business was providing a functioning game in return for my money. Since they failed to do this with Double Agent, I haven't bought an Ubisoft game since.

I thought it would be difficult since Ubisoft used to be one of my favorite developers, but it really wasn't hard at all...

It'll probably be just as tricky trying to survive with the inevitable game stopping bugs this game will have.

The planets look just like those out of Mass Effect: 99% empty terrain with the occasional building sticking up. Where's the fun in that?

Can't say I'm really to sorry to see a company that has recently become known for putting out buggy console ports finally start to lose money. In fact, I'm actually pretty happy about that. The last Ubisoft game I purchased, Double Agent, was such a buggy mess and their customer support was so rude and unapologetic that I was planning on avoiding their future games anyway. Looks like I wasn't alone...

Why are there new cards coming out with the 9800 title? Is it that hard to come up with a new name? Why not just add another zero or something at least?

Maybe I'm just annoyed because I still have a Radeon 9800 video card and the fact that there's another card with the 9800 name makes my card seem even older and more obsolete than it already was...

I'll believe Ubisoft is committed to the support of their games when they finally put out a patch that makes Double Agent playable.

The shitty DRM is definitely a reason not to buy this game, but Ubisoft's history of releasing buggy console ports is the primary thing keeping me away.

Maybe the games were just more difficult to play because of all the freaking bugs.

Double Agent was sure difficult to play. Impossible, actually...

I wish these lawsuits would put an end to piracy. Then when companies put out shitty games they'd have no one else to blame but themselves...

I'm a big PC gamer and I don't pirate games. I didn't buy Assassin's Creed for one reason: it had Ubisoft's name on it.

Double Agent was the buggiest POS I ever bought. Instead of fixing the well documented, game-breaking bugs, Ubisoft just stopped their support. Their own tech support person (Jason, I think his name was) told me there was nothing he could do and that the game couldn't be returned even though it didn't work as advertised.

It's no surprise to me that Assassin's Creed sold poorly since I definitely wasn't the only person burned by their products. If they don't already, I think every gamer should hold the name Ubisoft synonymous with the phrase "crappy, console port"...

San Andreas had bugs on the PC? I've been playing it on and off pretty consistently for the past three years and haven't noticed any.

I'm not a moaner (plus, I have and LCD monitor!), but I also have no interest in Vista. It's not going to improve my work experience (all of my 3D Cad software, the Adobe Suiteand OpenOffice run great in XP) and it's not going to improve my gaming experience (most of my gaming time is TF2 related these days). On top of that, Vista costs money and I don't pirate software. Who cares if it's the same price as XP? It's still money I'd have to spend for little to no gain.

I can't wait to see how Ubisoft applies their policy of "releasing buggy games and then abandoning them" to the movie industry. Movie audiences aren't going to tolerate paying for a product that's 75% complete the same way video game customers seem to...

I would've bitched a lot less about their DRM if I'd somehow known ahead of time that this game had zero replay value.

Ubisoft has a well established history of releasing buggy console ports to the PC and then not supporting them. Why does anyone think they'll stop now?

I was on a flight where I had my laptop in a carry-on bag that ended up too big to fit under my seat. This flight was full, the overhead compartments jammed, and I was forced to gate check my only bag. When I got to my destination, my laptop was no longer in the bag. United Airlines finally paid up, but it was after months of back-and-forth and legal threats (they supposedly only cover stolen clothing)

I was reading an article on this game in Computer Gaming Wo- I mean Games For Windows magazine and was surprised at how many times the developers talked about how "they wanted this" or "they thought this was more fun". That doesn't necessarily mean this game is going to suck, but it was quite the contrast with Valve's comments on Team Fortress 2 (and most of their other games) where they talked about concern for the gamers experience and actual play testing to determine what was most fun.

Does Conviction only have one level? It's been how long since last there was news and the new screenshots are still from this same level?
