I've said previously (read: other threads) I was waiting for a bundle of all 3 in order to avoid GfWL (whether it be brick & mortar or from Steam), so Broken Steel has plenty to do with that. I'm not going to buy these 2 and wait to see if they do the same with the 3rd DLC since I've also said I find the 3rd the most interesting of the three (read: other threads). If they never release the 3rd in this fashion then I'll simply never buy any of them. Besides, the sum of the three will actually provide a decent-sized portion of entertainment instead of these brief appetizers.

| However, the image of the packaging on Amazon's listing suggests 2 out of 3 as well, but you're right it could change...in which case I would purchase. |

| Same, or let me get them through Steam. I've said all along I'm waiting until they're all out before I bite on any of them...especially since the last one is the one I'm most interested in. |

You completely summed up everything I wanted to say about CoD4 multiplayer. The only servers I found remotely fun were the "no running" servers where they would also disable UAV's and helicopters and kick people for blind airstrikes; same for CoD:WaW.

| The gameplay changes to AA3 sound pretty cool...should be fun for at least a little while until all of the hacks become rampant on it just like in AA/AA2; I had a good 1.5-2 years of play out of them. |

Dramatic much?
I don't see it as a step forward, but it didn't come off as a step backward to me either. Can you be a little more specific? |

| Awesome. This is one of my biggest peeves; attempting to join that server with 2 slots open only to find they're both reserved. The jackasses should hide the slots like a responsible administrator would. |

| I know that it said you had to restart your steam client, but I was gone when the update came out, and when I came home it had already downloaded, and I hopped right onto a server and played it. |

| I really didn't like TFC; I felt like Valve dropped the ball on TFC when they rushed it out the door after abandoning their first attempt at TF2. Having played QWTF extensively...TFC just never felt right to me. However, TF2 has more than filled that hole left from my awesome game experiences playing QWTF. |

I'm confused. Have you not clicked "Extras" on the main splash screen? L4D does have commentary mode.
Edit: I just went through the commentary mode. Perhaps you were referring to the fact that the commentary is mainly fundamental gameplay design-based commentary and only for the No Mercy campaign?

And as soon as that process is simplified, bugs fixed, and Lobby leaders are able to select a specific server that they can sort from a list via ping...things will be 10x better than they currently are. My God that would be so sweet... |

Saying "dedicated servers are shit" is just neither here nor there and frankly sounds a bit ignorant to me. I didn't say dedicated servers are shit; I said that the dedicated servers are often shit. I was specifically referring to the dedicated servers that I happen to have selected for me while playing Left 4 Dead.
It's certainly superior to have a machine dedicated to a game, but, for me at least, completely unnecessary in the case of Left 4 Dead, a mostly coop-based game that one tends to organize a group to play. For whatever reason the current matchmaking system for finding dedicated servers for a group doesn't seem to do a good job of selecting a server that pings decently to those in the lobby.
I don't know the specific upstream requirements per client, but I have no problem hosting 8 player VS games on business class cable, and we've had no issues whatsoever. I'm not saying your problems don't exist. I'm just saying that I've had no problems using listen servers, and consequently I'm going to tend to be "glowing about the game's multiplayer experience." |
