the long gameplay videos on youtube from the dev show a very promising strategy game. And the devs seem to be big fans of the original XCOM.

The same could be said of Diablo & Jay Wilson and company and look how that turned out...

Damn, my pessimism is going to be the end of me.

Yeah. Thankfully Kotick hasn't bought and perverted Firaxis (yet), so we can have some faith.

Yep, there's a huge market, but they are not going to taste shit unless they drop their stupid always-online DRM. Especially after D3.

Not buying and of course not pirating either. Ubi has guaranteed themselves absolutely no purchases from me & friends until they drop their DRM (recursively) and apologize for tons of insults and stupid comments, i.e., never.

So, for Jay Wilson "fuck that loser" is "defending his team".

No wonder Diablo 3 ended up being a DRM'ed piece of shit with a lead like that.

He probably means 93-95% of people pirate AFTER they implemented their useless and, oh, insecure DRM.

Fucking idiots.

36. Re: OnLive Layoffs Follow-up Aug 19, 2012, 07:04 Paketep

I'm sorry for the people losing their jobs, but I'm glad this platform is going to hell. Like DivX (the old DVD substitute, not the codec), it meant putting ALL the power in the hands of the publishers. And we know what happens when they have it. Sony has been crying PIRACY for years, and now that their platform has no piracy, have their prices dropped?. No siree.

This was just a stupid idea, bad for the gamers, bad for the devs. Only the publishers benefitted from it. I hope it goes bankrupt soon.

News Comments > PAYDAY - The Heist Wolfpack DLC Released
6. Re: PAYDAY - The Heist Wolfpack DLC Released Aug 8, 2012, 03:55 Paketep

They went a bit too far with the pricing, they should have put out there bigger that it's enough that the host has the content for everyone to play.

Perhaps it would have been a MUCH better idea for them to ask for $2.5 and need everyone to have the DLC to play. I'm sure they'd sell a lot more.

Very nice game otherwise.

Can't even say I'm surprised. That's Ubi for you.

I WILL be surprised if Ubi decides to fix this travesty by finally admitting how stupid UPlay is and decide to drop it. Since I doubt they have enough brain to do that, me & friends will continue not buying their games and, it seems, being more secure thanks to that.

Fucking idiots. They deserve to go broke.

Well, that's it then. Back to the dark basement, Epic.

I was mildly interested in this and trying to forget every stupid comment made by CliffyB and Mark Rein, but this... this brings me back to fuck you Epic mode.

So: FUCK YOU, EPIC.

You already had a kickstarter. It was called Defense Grid: The Awakening.

I completely agree with you there. A sequel is supposed to be financed by the original. If you need a kickstarter to make a sequel it tells me either the original didn't sell well enough to merit a sequel, or your sloppy with money/sales of the original and don't deserve to be kickstarted.

They were very clear on what they want the money for and how they're going to use whatever they get.

Don't want to contribute?. Don't contribute. I loved the original and have no problem contributing to a new one.

1. Re: Black Ops II PC Dedicated Servers Confirmed Jun 18, 2012, 10:45 Paketep

PAID dedicated servers aren't true dedicated servers. If there are no public server files released and you have to pay to get a shitty server, please don't call them "dedicated servers". It's not the same.

TF2 has dedicated servers.
CoD4 has dedicated servers.
BF3 DOESN'T have dedicated servers.
CoD:BO DOESN'T have dedicated servers, and I will be surprised if CoD:BO2 has them.
