Without overstating it, Tera is the best mmorpg I have played in 10 years of playing games including Wow(for 6 years), EQ2, AOC, WH, Rift, Aion, GW2 beta. The combat, especially the melee combat is fantastic, the graphics are incredible, animations are best genre has ever seen (both monsters and players), dungeons are very good. Poster who dismisses it as an endless grind is cynical and dead wrong. Even my wife loves the game, and she was skeptical after being burned by AOC, WH, Rift, etc. We have 2 lvl 40's and love it.

Just make sure you have beefy computer to enjoy it to its fullest. We bought 2 new computers just to play this game after we started playing it and loved it. There is your endorsement.

Trust me, the game is freaking awesome. Period.

The game *is* an endless grind though. Unless I missed something, somewhere, once you get to like level 10 you start slowing down and having to slog through the riff-raff of "Kill X" and "Fetch X" quests.

It is a nice looking and entertaining MMO to play in short bursts, but to tell someone that they are dead wrong and cynical for stating a bold-faced truth screams otherwise.

eSports? Maybe eCompetitions or eGames, but to classify professional gaming as a sport seems silly. Professional poker isn't even referred to as a sport.

In theory, it's no less a sport than, say, NASCAR or any other number of activities falling under that nomenclature.

Something that occurred to me while reading all the Diablo 3 news lately is that an unscrupulous individual, if so inclined, could make more than enough money in the auction house to keep buying new copies of D3 indefinitely as their old accounts get banned, assuming they work quickly enough. Banning doesn't seem like much of a deterrent in that case especially if Blizzard only brings the ban-hammer occasionally.

The probability that would work would probably be low, seeing as you need both an Authenticator and a form of payment info on the accounts.

The Authenticator is tied, hardware-wise, to either the fob or the phone, so they'd have to get new phones and/or fobs to keep this part going...

I'm also pretty sure Blizzard would be pretty careful about having multiple accounts using the same payment info across them without first verifying them.

That's not to say that this isn't possible, but figuring the hurdles behind it, I don't see it profitable overall.

Well lets see, based upon the news topic, the content of the post you're questioning, Rattlehead, one could easily assume that Hellbuddy is a bot for Diablo 3.

Of course, that's only if one is capable of putting forth some effort in a logical deduction of the words written.

You know what Champs are best? The Wasp/Bees that shoot little bees, coupled with Desecration, Chains, Vampire, and Teleport....

Just last night, I had two Champ groups that I somehow entered next to, one was the Wasp/Bees above teamed with the sneaking Vipers that had Waller, Jailer, and (wait for it), Electricity.

I lasted about 2 seconds. Seriously those buffs need to have exclusions, desecration and either Jailer or lag-happy Frozen are way too overpowered on every upper difficulty. Lost a level 38 HC Witch Doctor thanks to a couple of them.

But the integration can go deeper as well. The show might introduce a new storyline involving a mysterious plague that is afflicting the entire continent, Beliaeff said. Players in the game could then work toward finding a cure. If the cure is found, the particular player that dredged it up could be mentioned on the show, or even become a walk-on character in a future season, events Beliaeff compared to "winning the lottery."

^^ From the article...I can see it now;

"Thanks to Fagbomb120541 and XxC00li0xX for aiding in the facilitation of creating this cure to save so many lives!"

I think I'd watch the show just to witness this...

I have a question for you Day Z players. I was watching some YouTube videos with Day Z gameplay on and there's a question which stands out to me: How do you gain humanity?

It seems to fall quite quickly, even if you shoot in self-defence, so how do you gain it and prevent yourself becoming just another bandit?

Humanity is gained by killing zombies, healing other players (via bandages or blood transfusions), killing bandits, and will gradually go up as time goes on the longer you stay alive and not shoot other survivors.

I swear if we have to grind multiplayer to unlock a better ending.....

If you're alluding to Mass Effect 3, you might want to not...the galactic readiness meant overall jack when you basically got enough assets just from playing the normal game for all of the endings.

With 1.2mb/s it would have taken you about an hour and not 20 minutes

;p

I know...it was a matter of 'perspective' in terms of their P2P client's reporting. That said, the point was that the download wasn't as big as people may think.

Not going to play myself. Probably a pretty sizeable download, and it'd only be for this weekend, after all.

I'm saving myself for May 15th

Sizable being only ~4GB...took me around 20 minutes to complete with the downloader hovering at 1.2Mb/s

X-Ray Kill Cam - Amazing ‘kill cam’ technology showcases what really happens when a bullet enters an enemy’s body, allowing players to see hearts and lungs tear, livers burst, and bones shatter.

wow, thats pretty intense

im not a fan of the WW2 stuff, but this sounds like an interesting sim type game

Nothing is really all that graphic in terms of visceral wounds...well, except for the 'graze of the jaw' hits which seem to turn the target's mouth inside out.

The x-ray cam probably isn't fully implemented in the demo simply because the hits I was making didn't really scream "hearts and lungs tear" but more like "bullet go in here, exit there". Bone shatters are pretty fun to watch though...but again, they don't seem to be fully implemented.

No doubt this would not be free DLC if EA wasn't in full on damage-control mode right now.

I would bet it would be free even if everyone had no qualms with the endings...EA has been quite happy getting 'one up' on Activision in their games when releasing 'map packs' by doing so for free or for a tiny charge and not $15...

Maybe I'm an overly positive guy, but maybe the certification hold-up actually has to do with Battlelog's cross-access between platforms.

That *could* be a logical explanation as to why the consoles are holding up the PC updates...maybe.

I would think the point would be to entertain. Many of the choices I made during the series did alter my gameplay experience enough that I felt like they mattered, but I never expected them to make any huge impact to the overall story. I'm not sure why anyone would, honestly.

Bioware has literally said that the game is all about building "your Shepard and telling your story". I get what you're saying about not expecting a totally personalized ending but its hard to argue that it wasn't sold that way. The ending doesn't really satisfy on many levels. It's not totally about personalization either, a lot of people were very attached to their companions and wanted some explanation or whatever.
I never expected an ending with Shepard outside of him/her dying...what *I* wanted was closure on the rest of the people I've met along the way.

Oh yea...and not the horrible way they kicked you in the teeth over Tali.

While the Catalyst didn't appear until 5 min to midnight the existence of a shared consciousness of the Reapers makes a lot of sense.

It's more or less the same arrangement the Geth use now that they've been improved by the Reapers (or used. They either died because you killed them sooner or later or because their Relay blew up) and if you listen to the Reapers in the games they always sound like mixtures between individuality and a hive mind.

Except a specific quote from Sovereign stating that they, the Reapers, are each nations unto themselves...that doesn't support the collected conscience, nor a single unifying controller over them.

The whole arrangement wasn't that bad. There was bound to be a deus ex machina solution because the Reapers were just too powerful. That solution was bound to be a computer virus of some kind because there's no other logical way to kill all the Reapers across the galaxy in a surgical strike.

I expected a MacGuffin somewhere, but in Mass Effect I wasn't expecting a Star Baby to come out of left field in the last five minutes, give me a run-down of the history of the galaxy despite it slapping the established Lore in the face, and then telling me that I am the sole reason that the galaxy must die.

Lo and behold 10 min into Me3 we find the plans for the Crucible which even looks like a virus.

This was the accepted MacGuffin, one that I think everyone expected in some fashion...the writing of the origins of the Crucible is leagues better than what was 'finalized' in the end.

So now we need an attack vector, a way to inject it and what better way than to use the Citadel which we know had a direct connection with the Reapers until the Protheans pulled the plug and which we know could keep up that connection over galactic distances.

But then that leads us back to the Space Baby...if that AI was there the entire time, why did it not step up in ME1 with Sovereign?

I just ignored everything after the part where you have to choose between the Red, Green and Blue Button (did that with Deus Ex, too. It's a surefire sign that the writers have stopped giving a shit and so should you) and was quite happy with the whole thing.

There's a fine line in ignoring and going totally brain-dead...the latter was required to get through the ending unless you wanted to be stuck with a serious kick in the Wolfman Nads..

My main issue is that your war assets have no real meaning at all and the fact that hours of careful galactic diplomacy are worth less than a shitty horde mode with Jim, Bubba and Bill.

The assets have some sway, but thanks to the lack of distinguishing effects in the different endings, it just didn't help portray that fact.

It's a compiled documents of the major plot talking points and garbled discourse over why most of them are bad. Many are petty good, but the bulk of it contradicts other parts or dismisses precedent in probabilities.

Just finished the game 30 minutes ago. I was happy with the ending as is. If the problem people have is that the choices you make during the game(s) don't matter in the end... well, this isn't an RPG. It's a story-driven action game. I wouldn't expect my choices to have mattered much, if at all. I guess it's hard for me to not be satisfied though since I thought ME2 was a huge disappointment and I expected ME3 to be total shit, and it wasn't.

Not so much the lack of my choices mattering, except for the galaxy-wide things like the Geth/Quar and the Krogan/Everyone Else...my issue is with the whole disjointed and patently non-Shepard the entire ending was with the addition of the character that never existed before that last 5 minutes (hated it in JPRGs, hate it here). To a lesser, but still high, degree the plot holes created based upon established Lore.

The game, as a whole, was great and you'll probably find everyone agreeing with that...it's just the end that people are having problems with.
