My next MMOG by all appearances looks to be Guild Wars 2, but I am looking forward to Planetside: Next. Planetside was an absolute blast once you got enough people on a server.
It wasn't just a frag fest, it was hundreds of people in three way wars between the factions. Each faction had different strengths and weaknesses and thus different tactics. When each was fighting over a single area of land with a central base and perhaps a few towers, that was when the game was at its best. So I'm absolutely looking forward to the game. Though I do hope it's free to play with, I wouldn't mind microtransactions either so long as they weren't items that gave a huge advantage to those that have it like some MMOGs. More Like Guild Wars. Maybe extra character slots, new paint jobs for your gear, gimicky things to change up gameplay for a character, etc. The original Planetside is still running after nearly 8 years! A lot of the regulars have returned to the game, presumably as a last hurrah before getting involved with the PS: Next Beta. You may wish to return for a month and reminisce on how it all began back in 2003
Drop onto Hossin near the Ixtab Amp Station; I'll be sure to leave a Marauder parked next to the BFR term for you.

| From my perspective I'm just happy that you're providing this service to the online community. If there's no fresh fodder available to read when I check in, I'll just *gasp* try again later in the day. |

I'm leery about installing EADM just to patch my copy of Spore (seeing as there doesnt appear to be a 1.03 standalone patch.) Is this another 15Mb of bloat-ware that I'll hardly use and that will perform unspeakable Electronicdark-arts upon my PC?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Honestly haven't read any reviews on the game yet (as I prefer to write up my own thoughts when I finish the game) but in brief ...
I've just clocked 50+ hours on the PC version, am only just starting the Waters of Life quest chain, just hit the level cap of 20 and having found the explorer perk, suspect that I could spend another 100+ hours just exploring the world.
Issue wise: I had two freezes during those 50 hours which were easily circumvented and while I do see the odd Havoc physics engine glitch the game is more polished than a lot of other AAA titles that have come out in the last 18 months.
Probably the best $Aus 90 I've spent in quite a while ...

The Crypt (at the moment) is mainly a video game database. I do a daily parse of all the major gaming sites and index their work.
Site is still a work in progress (as it is a hobby) but it's been running in this form since around February.
I guess I should consider putting in an About page |

I must admit that I was surprised that PC World was running with this story, considering that traffic aggregators have been around for years ... until I saw that the original story is dated March 8, 2002.
It must be a slow time of the year for news ...
