Kinda irked that the download and the physical are both $59.99. But I'm lazy so bought the download anyway. EA needs more money. |

After many hours this weekend, I'd definitely say BF3 is worth $50.
The $60 price tag is a little on the painful side. I'll probably pre-order it on Origin.

I had many hours of fun in Brink for the PC. Agree that the servers are getting quite thin.
The only reason I kept playing Brink was that I'm tired of TF2. It has some new elements which made it fresh. Now, its not so fresh. Perhaps 2 new maps will keep me interested for a few more plays. But probably not. |

They said that the free DLC is held up because of they are waiting for the XBox approval process. Don't know why but they must want to do a simultaneous DLC release for PC, XBox, PS3. Another stupid move.
I've been playing the PC version. Getting a good amount of fun out of it but developed a hate for the Reactor map and one other. Some of the maps I really like.
The PC release could have been much better. A short period of open beta testing would have pin-pointed various simple problems that they shouldn't have went live with. Brink was close to being a very good game but they blew it. |

I like what I'm hearing for PS2. The first was just capturing the same buildings and bases endlessly.
I'm wondering what will happen to what you've conquered after everyone goes to sleep. |

Ludomancer wrote on Jun 29, 2011, 23:29: Still, a lot of independent developers are embracing this model of release... like idiots.
Minecraft offered something that no other game had really ever done as well, ever. It wasn't a fluke, it was just a beautifully developed game. People saw what it was, and flocked to it before it was even complete.
I want to punch every dev in the face that tries to emulate it. I hate this pan-handling development strategy.
Either way, Scrolls will probably not be anything like Minecraft, and thus not as successful. If indie developers don't pan-handle, how are they gonna afford to make a good game? |

Thanks for answering my tank questions!
Reading this thread, perhaps Hi-Rez should have an open beta ASAP. At least they would get feed back earlier. Global Agenda kinda sucked at release. |

Never got into the original Tribes but am sure to try this since it will be F2P.
Question for people in the know, saw a tank in the video. Do you expect tanks to be fun in this game? Or is more geared to the individual soldier flying around? |

| This news is not even worth discussing. The Senator got free publicity and perhaps will be able to extort some campaign donations from the game industry. |

worst pre-order mistake I've made yet. What lag? I've played 60 hours. Haven't run into the lag your describing.
Granted there were some bugs at launch. However, Brink isn't as bad as you all are describing. |

What sucks is having to pre-order from EA's online store to get the additional 3 maps. You can't even pre-order BF3 yet from Steam.
Split the player base from day 1. Good thinking!
Could care less about the weapon bonus thing. I'm in it for the tanks/APCs. |

The extra BF3 maps for pre-orders stinks! Splits the community. Of course you can only pre-order it from EA, which I'm not going to do.
Yay! Less BF3 maps for me! |

The Advocate wrote on May 31, 2011, 13:02: I used to use onboard sound and it did a very good job with a 5.1 system with those multicolored 1/8" jacks.
Then I moved to a receiver with a home theatre 7.1 setup and discovered that the optical out on my onboard audio only does stereo as confirmed by the board manufacturer.
Regrettably, I am now using a Soundblaster drop-in until I upgrade the whole system and find a board that supports 7.1 Dolby on optical. Uh, forget optical. You want to go HDMI. Assuming your receiver supports HDMI or your buying a new one. Then you just need the video card, which you may already have since your reading Blue's News. |
