Still can't get over that they are charging $30 for a game that looks like it belongs on the N64.

Lies. Filthy lies! Looking forward to multiplayer action.

Shadowrun singleplayer RPG made by Piranha Bytes (and a decent publisher). That is all.

Spector made Deus Ex Inivisible war.

He wasn't he lead designer... that was Harvey Smith, the "genius" who combined all ammunition for all weapons into a single resource.

What is your perspective of foreigners trying to influence your government? Maybe you don't mind if their goals happen to align with your own, but generally?

Valve should respect the Prime Directive! I - wait, wrong genre.

So, as an Australian player, how do I play on a server and get < 100 ping? For that matter, less than 350 ping?

Fair points!

One thing I like about Risen as a game, when compared with my previous Bioware experience (Kotor):

I actually don't mind the absence of morality in terms of game mechanics... with games like KOTOR, I found your choices were bipolar, and there often wasn't really a "grey" choice. It was light or dark.

Note that I realise that fits within the idiom of Star Wars, I'm just saying I don't mind a game that's just grey the whole way through!

Each day this new hypemachine reinforces my decision to spend my cash on Risen instead of Dragon Age.

Risen is a great game, btw. Been playing it for > 10 hours now and still enjoying it.

Or is it for joystick users only?

I hope to see my idea of a perfect game before I die, but that's probably not realistic. I'd like to see an open-ended game that had a completely destructible environment and completely destructible objects, a completely open world, and near-infinite real variety in missions (i.e. near-infinite variety in types of missions, not just mission details). Too bad it's probably an impossible dream.

Pretty sure you just look out your window for that

9. Re: L4D2 Cuts Pass in Oz Oct 8, 2009, 17:38 starmonkey

What I find (sadly) amusing is the inconsistency of these bans... I recently bought (in Aus) and played Condemned, one of the most violent games I've ever experienced with some genuinely horrifying moments.

Compare that with L4D... I'd consider L4D "lite" on violent elements.

Shoot me - I'm a bad person.

You're not a bad person! You are as rare and precious as a snowflake. Lets not say you melt in my hand, though.

For me, I used to hunt down no-cd/dvd cracks purely so I'd only need to risk the physical media once, then it went back in the box, up on the shelf, so I'd neither lose nor scratch the precious game!

why dont you just get over your favoritism?

It could have been an honest question... why indeed spend (waste?) money on a PS3 when you can upgrade your PC (pretty cheap these days, too)?

I love the freedom that a PC brings.. such a great platform to create as well as consume.
