hahahaha... fiasco eh? one of the largest financial successes in gaming in the past 5 years... critical acclaim (from media and players alike)... translated into a half dozen languages...
yup, i'd chalk that up as a -complete- fiasco... :p

aye... that interview is several months old in fact...
as for "dumbing down" Oblivion... i think that removing the items that -players- and -fans- considered useless (no one actually -used- throwing knives in MW), and optimizing gameplay elements to bring the "fun factor" to the forefront quicker can hardly be considered dumbing it down...
only time will tell, but I for one think OB is going to be a stellar game, and will have me hooked even longer than MW did...
