Facebook's proof will only matter if it can be entered as evidence in court. Making claims in the press doesn't mean a thing.

I hate Apple and will never use their overrated overpriced crap. And no, real gamers don't want to play crappy F2P/microware on 6 inch screens.

It's rational and thoughtful things like this that will keep John Carmack from ever being asked to talk about violence in video games on any cable news channel, particularly one owned by News Corp.

That should be a quote of the day:

"We're building the strength of our most important IP. And for EA, this means about a dozen very substantial IPs,” he added. “Each of these will be transformed into year-round businesses with major packaged goods launches, social launches, mobile launches, downloadable content and micro-transactions."

They're still losing money every quarter and their answer is to churn out even more of the same shit no one buys now? Good luck with that strategy

No, connecting to WiFi from Windows is not hard at all. What might make it hard is letting a Mac user write the instructions without ever touching a PC and expecting those instructions to be worth a shit.

I wish someone would look into his business a little further - wouldn't surprise me if ht is commiting all sorts of fraud...

Look at his predictions' success rate. If it were a batting average he'd be dropped from rookie ball. If that isn't fraud then we need a new definition of fraud.

I figure that there will be a keygen for this and EA's version before the end of the year, if not the end of summer.

No, we are not getting too much information on data breaches. What little we do get does not come fast enough to be very useful, especially if your data was part of the breach.

One would expect "The Swindle" to be published by Activision.

I was thinking EA, but Activision is a good choice, as well.

The White House is just plain wrong, as are the ISPs that voluntarily went with this crappy idea. Apparently no one has learned a thing from the RIAA using IP addresses as the sole means of misidentifying actual people infringing copyrighted material.

I'm not advocating banning anything from anyone, but John Stewart made a good point on the Daily Show the other day. He showed a clip from what looked like a new Mortal Combat game of a two guys pulling a woman's legs and ripped her in half at from the crotch up. That is protected free speech, but if her nipple slipped out while being torn in half, it would be banned. Why is violence OK and considered free speech, but nudity isn't? Why are kids not allowed to see or rent violent movies, but violent games are OK?

I don't think the government should ban any of it, I think parents should, you know, be parents and choose what they want their kids to see/play.

You are absolutely correct. That is why parents need to understand the ESRB ratings. There are very good reasons for Mortal Combat to be rated M and those reasons are listed on the box.

Too bad this wasn't caught before they were packaged. Had a human been present, the stench would most definitely been noticed at that time!
