Are you really telling us theres GFX errors on a launch title for a brand new piece of hardware. No way man - next you'll be saying Vista has bugs or security flaws.

Funny but the perfect gift for this PC gamer is not 5 games with an average review of 82% - and a free trial which I could download as quickly as install and patch (if I was a masocist)

I think what your looking for is sex... the ultimate MMORPG

Hmm I bought a lifetime subscription to that but I'm getting a bit bored with the constant grinding - would kinda like new dungeons to explore

hmm not too happy with this launch - yes it's avaliable worldwide today - as long as by worldwide you mean the US. The servers were bought down at 4am PST for a 12 hour patch. Great you think - if your American. If like me your british or live any further east then England this means the servers won't come back on until after midnight tonight - essentially meaning that no this is not released today for the majority of the world.

Oh and btw don't ever preorder from play.com - they haven't even got around to dispatching my copy yet :((((

erm hate to take this off topic Mark H. Walker but I'm just wondering if perhaps your related to Derek Smart?

Edit: By the way maybe you shouldn't be so proud of the articles on your homepage. You gave Ghost in the Shell A+ or 100%, that kinda flies in the face of the other 40 reviews avaliable on GameRankings. In fact without your review the average grade for the game would have dropped from 63% to 59%.

It would seem you place a high value on what is generally considered crap. Can't wait for your game.

Loving your work

hmm just had a quick go and kinda like it. Seems I need to upgrade for unreal 3 though as I was only getting 20-30fps on a x64 3500+ with 2gb ram and a 7800GT.

Really impressed with the install - it uncompressed to 445mb so near trippled in size. Would much have something that takes 5 mins to install then spend hours searching for a mirror which isn't capped or full.

Import, eh? Are you a fellow Japanese speaker? How the hell did you get through all the kanji in that game's text convos? There were some fairly heavy and abstract discussion on metaphysics in the game.

Nothing that exotic I'm afraid - English which means I can understand American 100% (even if you lot can't understand us half the time )

However the HUGE time delays localising and PAL converting PS1 games was more then enough to send me to my local import shop. I think it took about 9 months at the time to do it and when it did turn up it had huge ugly borders top and bottom (PAL has more lines on the screen but runs at 50hz not 60hz). The other major problem was changing the language for the europeans.

EDIT:

Dude I love you!!!!! I've been wondering why when I had my TFT and TV in clone mode all my games would lock to 50fps. Turns out of course it was using the lowest refresh rate on my system which in my case was the PAL-I TV output. Switched that over to NTSC and it's working like a charm! I thought PAL was 60hz and NTSC 50hz but looking into line numbers to explain pal conversion I saw my mistake

I did get to "the secret city we shall not name as it will ruin it for loads of kids who weren't born when the 1st one came out" in TR1. But then I got FF7 on import and strangely don't recall ever starting TR1 again.

Does kinda make you feel old though don't it 10 years?

I really loved legend but it was definatly over too fast, but what games aren't these days? The budget and prices get bigger and the gametime shorter (hmm bit like sex campared to 10 years ago).

As for their comments of connecting with people of all ages? 2 of my kids still nag me to play so they can watch her run around (their a bit young to work it by themselves - tend to fall down holes a lot).

If you didn't enjoy yourself playing WoW than you weren't trying or maybe you're just a weak little teenager who thinks that he's phat or phag or whatever you kids are saying these days.

Omg where to start. I wouldn't put this quote in fanboi context as it clearly would embarass any actually fanboys. You can't class it as troll comments as it looks like it is trying to make some kinda point.

So what is it??? A post denouncing the people who dislike WoW but at the same time proving our point? It's like a 5 foot 6 kid coming up to you with his voice breaking, covered in acne, who has never shaved in his life and is trying to act like your grandfather telling you that your acting like a child.

Honestly I think really this must be a troll post but afaik you have just taken trolling to a whole new level.

BTW if that comment was in any way directed at me I would point out I freely admit my oldest kid is 7. Even at the extreme end of teenage pregnancy that would mean I became a dad at 12. I don't know about anyone else but I strongly believe that anyone who would possibly be in a position to father a child at the age of 12 would not be discussing WoW on a message board.

guess your guild is the exception that proves the rule Scratz. My own guild is active in EQ2, WoW and SWG but that doesn't represent the majority of players in WoW.

I used to think that MMORPGs were silly little doo-doo games for children too.

But then I tried WoW. Definitely a game worth it's price. Download the trial and if you still don't like it then you're dumb.

Actually I forced myself to ~43 once. Have tried twice since because of pressure from my friends but really it's full of kids.

My own kids (3 of em aged 4-7) play Toontown and even there you can kinda forgive yourself for kidding yourself half the people are actually adults playing for a laugh. But thats only because you can only use stock phrases in toontown. I seriously don't think I had a team in the last time I tried WoW which didn't have someone bitching about their homework or how their mum had given them chores.

Yeah I freely admit I'm capped in EQ2 and that the new expansion for the older, grittier, more mature gamer gives us playable fucking faires but even so WoW is aimed and mainly populated by kids.

Obviously wanna avoid the christmas rush when people buy decent games and put it out in the slower months when cartoon based kiddie games sell better.

Of course all the kiddies get money from their grandparents for christmas which does help!

I've also heard they are thinking of a new loyalty scheme so you can send Blizzard your milk teeth as they fall out. Each tooth recieved will award you a piece of the coverted Tooth Fairy armor which give -50 to bed wetting (that apparently is "pwnage").
