Particularly curious as to whether they'll hit the top games played

Surely that depends on whether Gametap's users have huge masochistic tendencies.

I played the demo of the first one and have been awaiting this ever since - looks great.

But I flatly refuse to support episodic gaming by downloading a chunk a month.

"No sniveling, anti-social net-idiot is going to last one post on this board."

I dunno I kinda like

I can't think of any reason for you to buy UCCE

From the mouth of Mr Smart on his own forums:

Edit: OK I confess I may have taken that slightly out of the context in which he said it - but it's still fucking funny!

I'm betting this thread will hit at least 50 posts

Hmm I'm not sure, let's be honest here. Taking the piss out of DSmart is not exactly taxing or difficult - after a while it stops being fun.

I'm actually feeling a bit of sympathy for the guy - he obviously has deep seated pyschological problems.

We kinda are taking the piss out of the "special" kid.

There are no plans to release it outside North America at this time.

That cause none of us are dumb enough to buy it?

How many PC-exclusive FPSes come out each year?

Just enough to be unique and push the bounderies of the platform. HL2:EP1 for instance. Crysis for another - ignore the generic russian shite there still are some games for the pc which push anyones hardware to the limit.

Since the death of the space combat sim really PC=FPS, MMO, and possibly RTS (don't play these).

Aside from this there seems little point in buying PC over console versions of the same game; case in point I paid 5 more for the 2nd hand gamecube version of Resident Evil 4 then the price of the new pc version and the GC version has better graphics.

The seriously crucial point is that developing games for the PC seems to be either the easy end result (sonic riders) or the solid middle ground (Half Life). Nobody will start developing for a machine which may possibly be out 5 years in the future if your lucky - unless they are developing for a pc; in which case it will probably still work

PC gaming is a small niche market and a HUGE middleware market. Epic, Id, Crytek and so on are not gonna turn there backs on the generic PC for a very long time.

Or, if you object to lie, misrepresenting. In either case, as customers, constantly giving us release dates that are incorrect is not going to make us happy.

Unless of course your aim is to generate a huge amount of press for absoultly nothing. If valve had said the release was 9/7 18 months ago would now in 3/7 that story make any sites frontpage?

"In further news the game that's not due out for 6 months is till due out in 6 months.." I don't fucking think so.

This is marketing - pure and simple. It's not even the first time valve have used delays to generate massive ammounts of publicity for thier product.

Isn't matrix online present day - or very close to present. Well the matrixy parts at least - not the weird sewers with the squids of suck.

*DISCLAIMER*

Whilst I did once play the tutorial of matrix online for 10 minutes I was VERY drunk. Sorry.

I thought it wasn't ready too - but I'm really really enjoying it.

Yeah it is buggy and really stresses my hardware on balanced - my hardware is exactly the recommened spec btw.

The game, world and community are worth putting up with a few bugs here and there. This truly does feel like the next EQ/EQ2 - which is nice.

Thought 1: COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Thought 2: It's frogster - not cool
Thought 3: Don't be cynical

Clicks link and sees speedball2.com

Thought 4: No, that's not right. That's not brutal deluxe - that's over styleized homoerotic 2.

If it's a true successor give us speedball 3. If you wanna make a slightly camp over produced speedball 2 without the rawness then why license the name.

Fucktards

Didn't they say they'll start work on the demo when the game is complete?

Should be out about 2010

That's just great. Now the pimply-faced, ignorant, annoying teenaged geeks world of WH40K will be invaded and ruined by hordes of depressed, disillusioned overly cynical 30 year olds.

Seems the average PC gamer is now 30ish - time to come out of the closet guys - I'm 33 next month and still play computer games!

From the Vigil website:

Vigil will be led by David Adams, previously creator/director of several projects for NCSoft

and thus the alarm bells start ringing - Guild Wars good for what is it. Lineage + 2 are bot fests. City of heroes/villans is as shallow as guild wars but you have to pay for it.

And don't get me started on Auto Assault.

My kids love The Phantom Menace - they even like Jar Jar Binks. I think really you need to accept that Star Wars has ALWAYS been aimed at children - just cause you aged 20 years doesn't mean to say the target age range has also. Or are you telling me that the Ewoks were designed to appeal to hardcore nerds?

I mean really what would you rather spend a rainy sunday afternoon with a bunch of kids watching - Star Wars or High School Musical.
