The trouble is the only truly indie hit I can think of recently (Braid) was a console title before it was a PC one.

PCs will really be able to show off how beautiful the game looks at high resolutions

So basically we'll have options to change resolution. Wow what a novel idea.

I kind of gave up when I read "You are Dick Marcinko".

I don't care if it's the greatest game ever I will never willingly be "Dick Marcinko"

Slightly confused looking, indecisive hero with a jet pack? NO

They got it right with his missus as slut with guns, and Robert Downey Jnr as a alcoholic. But seriously Jetpack <> Confused and Indecisive.

Next announcemnet from them?

My Guess - Johnny Depp as the Night Stalker (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2731262/Night-stalker-rapist-charged.html LOOK! we do pyschos too - and it's not me!)

News Comments > No RAGE Dedicated Server?
57. Re: No RAGE Dedicated Server? Nov 6, 2009, 07:32 Lorcin

I think it's pretty obvious why Nvidia and Ati are stopping high end GFX on the PC. They honestly don't need to make the cards because nobody NEEDS to buy them!

My aging 8800GT will run EVERYTHING I throw at it, at a higher resolution with more bells and whistles than my 360 can. There are no graphic intensive PC games anymore - it's all multiplatform so who needs to buy a card which can perform way above the baseline (console) performance.

Yes please I'd love to drop 400 on a new card which can display exactly the same game at the same framerate as a 100 card. It's quite probable that if screens weren't locked to 60fps then a 400 card might make a differrence over the 100 card - but I'd never know.

When the next console generation comes out they'll probably be a rush on the cards which can keep up with that generation but after that things will die back down.

Oh and Rage has no dedicated server support because it isn't a game. It's an engine making the interim step to work towards the next iD tech - which carmack and co are desperatly hoping will become the defacto standard for console/pc games on the next generation.

Basically they're trying to wrestle the middleware crown back from Unreal's head and this is their opening gambit.

"results in an unauthorized performance by the Gwen Stefani avatar in a male voice boasting about having sex with prostitutes."

I can see why this would be a problem - obviously Gwen wouldn't want to sing a good song well.

oh no please not superhero sandbox. Arkham was more than wide enough. I'd hate to see another Spiderman/Prototype style superhero game.

maybe it's factoring in the money they decided they would get when MechScape launched as well as how much they invested into it?

you seem to be frogetting the fact that your not allowed anything but the very latest gear on your pc. You can't play Fear out of the box because you should know better and only use the most up to date version.

Don't you know anything - history is for british.

Pretty funny since it's so redundant as your name is already on your post automatically. You must be simple.

No seriously - that has to be the best example of a trolling brakdown I've ever seen. You double post whilst pulling someone on his "netiquette"?

Seriously dude - unplug your router and buy some golf clubs.

chance in court for what? they've already got you by the balls, what are you gonna do about it?

I'm uk - we have a different legal system where you can't sue maccy d's for serving you hot coffee. Neither can you be bound in a legal agreement by opening the shrink wrap on some software.

They are complaining cus they have nothing better to do on a weekend.

hmm actually no - I'm posting for fun after playing 5 hours of rock band & guitar hero with my wife - and for the first hour my kids too. I'm now so damn drunk I can barely sing so it's far more fun to pile into the meaningless argument here.

I'm sorry if this upsets your assumption that nobody here has a life but some of us like being twats here just because we can.

they completely have the right to limit your use to whatever terms they wish, according to laws you agree to abide by when you run the installer

erm actually unless I've been very much misled most eulas are not worth the pixels they're written in and would have as much chance in court as much as saddams lawyers did.

Again, tell me another hobby that does that to its customers.

I can buy tickets to any film at the cienma I want - but I can't watch that film until the actual film comes out - even though I have the small bit of cardboard that says I've bought rights to it.

Preorders have been going on long before the internet - don't try and make it seem that they're wrong now because the stuff you've pre-ordered is on your magnetic plates as a series of 1s and 0s.

first up NKD you win! Great post.

That was Prometheus which is a mock-up portion of Stargate Worlds so they could display it in the premiere.

Ok so it was a mock up of an imaginary game and absoltuley nothing to do with the mmo. That's my problem - I was hoping that was a sneak peek into the beta which would make stargate worlds look a lot more promising than it currently it. As a mock up supposedly based on it but even called something different I'm afraid my interest level is still hovering around the level of Flyff 2's previews..
