Way to be pathetic, ESA. It's a hundred dollar console that plays phone game (and does so not very well), and you're being this pedantic dick in trying to stop people from noticing them.

I hereby move we nominate the ESA instead of EA in next year's "Biggest fucking dicks in America" competition.

Kinda of normal shite - 3 years ago my wife was coining it in as a webcam model. Her and 3 other UK models set up a lottery competition to win a day with them at an adult convention here in the UK. Unfortunately the other 3 girls turned up in branded wabcam site t-shirts and got escorted off the premises even though they had bought tickets! Luckely my wife wasn't in the branding and we got to be bored by the lamest exhibition I've ever seen.

The ejected girls were no threat and bought some much needed eye candy to a bunch of sad sleezy stalls but hey - they hadn't paid to advertise apparently.

But yeah long story short - event organisers are VERY protective of their event space.

All you guys do is bitch , and complain about what games, or systems your not gonna buy. and most of your bitching comes from absolute ignorance. Motion gaming and those casual gamers you hate are what keeps the entire games industry alive. Not the so called hardcore gamers. The wii sold 99 million units, and wii sports is the best selling game in history. Anyone with kids or grandkids will tell you what the most popular game in the house is. Its dance central. The kids move the furniture and play ALL DAY with all the sports games etc. The wii u is easily the most popular console in my house, its on constantly. Far more than my ps3 or my 360. Wii sports resort sold more than halo 3 and black ops COMBINED. Gow 1 and 2 sold 10 million together while the wii fit sold 22 million. More than double. Casual gamers and motion gaming have flooded the games market, and developers, with billions of dollars. While you stupid asses sit around and bitch about how motion gaming has added nothing, and complain about the next thing your not gonna buy. stfu already.

3 kids here - wii that never gets used, like seriously ever. Dance central got used like twice then 3 months later we sold the kinect while it still had value. Most popular game in the house? Little Big Planet 2 and Minecraft - and guess what???? They NEVER use the Move on LBP.

Big point for me is one never mentioned - M$ say it's down to the publishers. BUT they never mention what their own policy as a publisher is.

OFC EA is going to bring online pass back to the PS4 - but Sony have said they won't do that for their own games. M$ seem to be playing the line that their hardware leaves it upto the publishers, but their publishing division hasn't said a word about their policies for 1st party games.

Slightly more telling poll:

UK tabloid poll

If you just want the results it's 79% PS4 to 21% xbox one - with 20725 votes cast as I write this.

Interesting to note afaik the UK is the only place 360 has beaten PS3.

You have that incorrect. US is the only region that 360 has outsold PS3. UK and Japan sales are greater for the PS3 than the 360.

PS3 has barely passed the 360 for Global sales totals. They are basically neck and neck at this point. And, 360 has been out a year longer.

Did mean to say UK only place outside NA but I'm still not so sure PS£ is dominant in the UK - remember UK isn't a REGION. Can find lots of things saying 360 is strong in the uk but struggling to find actual hard numbers for the PS3.

This quote from the head of SCEE in 2011 sums it up:

“Whether you approach the UK from the perspective of our momentum, or the perspective of the competitive landscape, for us the UK is more like US than continental Europe. If you look across the PAL territory, where typically we outsell our competitors by around 50 per cent on a weekly basis, it’s inverted in the UK.

Oh btw anyone else notice the huge emphasis on how it seems to want to spoon feed you what the whole xbox community is watching, listening too, playing etc? I'm sure M$ could never manipulate the "trending" films, games, music etc to promote a certain product if they paid enough - that would be borderline dishonest and they'd never do that!

Cable/Sat companies have already chimed in and said, WTF is MS talking about, they have no plans to allow game consoles to become black boxes for their services.

My guess - it's a simple IR blaster, HDMI in and custom TV guide.

Oh and I can press the button called "Guide" on my tv and get the TV still playing in a small window quicker than I can say "Xbox show the guide".

Would be rather ironic if the biggest users of Kinect 2 turned out to be the physically handicapped who can't press a button.

Oh and it seems all the TV crap is US only at launch. Meaning the system is even less appealing to the majority of the world - nobody wants to buy something that large chunks of it don't work where they live yet.

And for all the big talk of one media center? 500gb HDD and mandatory game installs doesn't leave much space for recording TV shows (which they didn't announce, or rewind, pause etc).

So other than showing an actual box, MS announced basically nothing Sony didn't, yet they were crowing and laughing at Sony for their "poor showing."

Staying classy as always: Microsoft.

They might as well have called it the Yawnbox where my interest is concerned. Oooh, Kinect is coming back!

Creston

TBH they showed less - Sony did show gameplay which was pretty much ENTIRELY lacking from the M$ presentation. So they both showed controllers, one showed games, one showed a box, one announced they'd made Siri for your TV.

For my money PS4 has won this round of the consoles wars just on the reveals and leaked tech specs. M$'s presentation smacked of desperation - if a player scores a goal you can instantly pull up your fantasy league and see how it affects your scores then skype your friends to rub it in their faces????????

Oh just been reading elsewhere - 3gb of the system RAM is reserved for the OS so the Xbox has 5gb usable. Reports on the PS4 are 0.5gb-1gb reserved so 7-7.5gb usable.

At least they named it right in terms of progression. Xbox 1 (original), Xbox 360 (big jump forward), Xbox One (step backwards from the competition).

Maybe they'll release a cheap version with only Wii U style specs and call it the Xbox Zero.

10. Re: Tomb Raider Sets Sales Record Mar 29, 2013, 22:49 Lorcin

Considering it had practically no tomb raiding and was instead a near direct rip off of Uncharted (which yes was a evolution of Tomb Raider)
3.4m is bloody good.

If they had just taken the core of the Uncharted "spectacle" and added a few puzzles or a tomb or two too raid it might have been a good game.

As it stands it's a VERY well presented 3rd person shooter with a couple of platformy bits which relies on using QTEs to turn cut-scenes into levels for the sake of padding.
