Those times are long gone. The hardware race has slowed down considerably, because all major titles are multiplattform, the limiting factor being the 360 and PS3 hardware.

Well, given the big mess that is MW2's story, they sure are not going to miss those.
They must all be 13 or something like that, if 5 guys couldn't get their act together to give a minimum sense to a 6 hours SP game.

It has more to do with the fact that I don't really care about MP, and I get one race worth of SP campaign. For 10 bucks more than I paid for SC, which gave me 3 races worth of SP campaigns. (and before everyone starts bleating again that SC was 60 bucks too, it cost 50 bucks in Holland where I bought it. My hat is black; your argument is invalid.)
And the fact that they chose the race that probably the fewest people care about in SP.
Hey, if you want to pay 60 bucks for it, and other games, go right ahead. I like the 50 dollar price point, and it's got to be a rare game with a TON of content before I'll go over it. (Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 come to mind.)

Quake 4 and Doom 3
D-i-f-f-e-r-e-n-t t-e-a-m-s.You must be a retard. Saying WoW is bad is the same as saying Tetris was bad if you dont like Puzzle games, or saying super mario 64 is bad if you dont like platformers.
Plus yes, WC3 wasn't anything new or memorable and World of Warcraft is a bloated pile of horse dung, as are all MMORPGs. I'm sorry, have they made any other games since?
Yes, because money = gaming quality. That's why Doom 3 and Quake 4 were such mind-bogglingly awesome games.
Ok, so all the main brains behind Diablo and Diablo 2 left, yet somehow people have the same expectations for this?
Hey, if Ringo Starr recruited 3 random guys and put out a new Beatles album, would you guys start running around going "The Beatles always put so much polish on their albums, and look, I mean, Wings sucked, so obviously Paul McCartney had nothing to do with the Beatles success!"
Plus, quite frankly, I expect much more linear levels. As others have mentioned, the bodies disappear. They did not in Diablo, which was pretty crucial - if you came to a bunch of dead bodies, you knew you'd been there before. Or your buddy had been, if you split up. No more of that now. Yes, there's still the automap, but I always found the piles of dead bodies more useful (and creepy. Remember wandering into a co-op game people had been playing for a long while and trying to run and catch them? Seeing all the dead bodies and not sure if the next turn would have your friend or have enemies he made it by without killing?)
He has a point. Were this not called Diablo 3, I doubt most people would care about it.
I don't trust Diablo 3 entirely because the team that made Diablo Diablo is gone.
