I played it through to completion on 360. To be honest, the primary limitation is level design. For ever moment of pure exhilaration where you zoom over, under, and through obstacles, that momentum is quickly killed as you are faced with some clumsy jumping/climbing puzzle. Its almost impossible to keep up good momentum for any length of time during the campaign. The controls, imo, were fine on the controller, and I don't really see how a mouse/keyboard could have helped that much. The level design needs some serious streamlining. Oh and the story is a throw away as well.

The time trials are a fun diversion, as you hone your technique to continually try to beat target times. Load up some of the world's best ghosts and you will some genuine skill at work.

ME has lots of potential and I am hopeful they will really nail the sequel.

People losing their jobs is never anything to celebrate, but to be honest I will not miss CC. Possibly the worst service of any retail store, ever, in my experience anyway.

Shame... the game is very, very good.

I agree 100%. Underworld is easily the best TR in years.

Its still freeking stupid that they do specific controller support when every other fucking game works with any controller.

Yup, I agree 100%.

Also the required GFWL crap when it comes to saving games. No internet? No saved games!

This is also not 100% true. You can create an offline profile and save games locally without a problem. Annoying, I know, but there is a workaround.

The biggest thing im pissed off about is the fact you can only use the 360 controller with the game.

Well not exactly, the support page has some more listed:

Currently Supported Controllers
We are actively working on adding support for a larger variety of gamepads. For now here is a complete list of all controllers compatible with Grand Theft Auto IV PC:

* XBOX 360 for Windows (Controller)
* Wireless XBOX 360 Controller
* Joytech 360 pad (Controller)
* Pelican TSZ360 Pad (Controller)
* MadCatz 360 (Controller)
* MadCatz 360 Pro (Controller)
* MadCatz 360 MicroCon (Controller)
* Bigben Controller BB7201 (Controller)
* MadCatz Arcade GameStick 360
* Logitech Chillstream

Not exactly an huge list, I know, but better than just the one.

Well performance wise I can get the game to run "OK", but its the GFWL thing that is kicking my ass. Cant sign into it and leads you to believe that you cant save your single player game without signing in. There's a workaround buy boy does it piss you off when you dont know what it is. (Creating an offline profile, its not obvious that you can do that.)

If I cant get that to work in the next few days, I'm going to try to get a refund from Steam. Its been a while since I truly regretted buying a game....

Even some game magazines claim they have huge problems with the DRM and technical stuff (Radeon Cards not working properly, saves dont work, etc etc etc.)

Boy you werent kidding. Reading through the forums now, I hope I dont get smacked with the texture bug Nvidia users are reporting.

There are huge problems with it, also there are several extra programs that have to be installed and run while you play GTA4 (incl. service). For example you have to have Social Club running and have an account for it.

Could you please be more specific? What problems exactly are you experiencing? I bought my copy on Steam last night (downloaded it, haven't played it yet), and I usually have 0 DRM related troubles. I thought the Social Club thing was only if you wanted to upload videos to their web site?

Metacritic is coming in around 60. Ouch. I actually bought a copy during lunch, allowing myself to get wrapped up in pre-release hype. I will now be returning it for Midnight Club once I get off work.

Does anyone plan to bring up a room for the BN Steam group? Would be fun to play with some fellow Bluers.

Well, the key difference is that you actually have to time your moves and link them together.

Exactly. In Mirror's Edge timing is absolutely key. Its frustrating as hell when you are just starting out but once you "get it" the feeling of nailing a perfect sequence is exhilarating.

The Race mode is a blast, its better than the story mode, IMO.

Can someone tell me if most of the dungeons and other PvE content has been fixed now? I really enjoyed AoC, took a break from it, but never got around to going back in. I have a level 50 Dark Templar and I'm trying to decide if its worth going back to it. (No interest in their PvP atm)
