Vista 64 is fine with an i7 and 6GB of RAM.
But yes, I'll be getting work to buy a few copies of win7 when it goes live. I get the feeling we'll skip Vista and go straight to win7 after XP. |

I hate the "when its ready" line - let me know if it is "probably within a year" or "most likely three years away" just for some kinda rough timetable.
I don't want to know now that it'll be out on august 15th, 2010. But Forgotten Hope 2 "when it's ready"'d itself right out of a community. |

I registered just to post this, but Twenty is a complete troll.
I work for NVidia in the software engineering department, and our 295 series of cards cannot be used in triple-SLI mode due to hardware limitations (Quad is possible)
Hence, 20, perhaps you should go back to surfing on your 486. Hahaha, awesome.
However, anyone that falls for his amateur level of trolling needs a primer on proper intarbutz usage. |

I love the dedicated "anti-steam" and "anti-l4d" trolls. It's like people complaining about other people having sex.
Anyhow, great game, better price this weekend. |

I was going to say that it sounds like your neighbor aerated your lawn for you.
I think chipmunks don't burrow, but use existing holes (like drain pipes)...
I like the first posters' idea about ground wasps and bees.
Good luck! |

one of the few people who fell for the hype and actually have the Physx card installed That's OK, I wanted to get a pair of SLI'd GTX 260's over anything ATI because I wanted to be able to use Physx.
That and I wanted a space heater. |

Maybe it will also include incidents while the Pit Out light is Red, Pit Stop releases while the fuel hose is still attached and exclusion of constructor points for stealing competitor information. Bonus points for running over mechanics that weren't quick enough to get away?
And yes, I want the option of using cars that use gray areas of the rulebook for an "unfair" advantage. |

What they should do is make a new Auth server IP, push that out via Impulse, then move their servers over. The pirates will hit the "bad" ip (that you can leave a crappy server handling, just for statistical purposes) but the authentication farm only listens to the users who paid for the game and got the updated auth server via an impulse patch. Ta-daaaa, no more problem with authentication.
Also, we don't know if those are 120,000 concurrent connections or 120,000 connections throughout a 12 hour period. I presume they sold more than 18,000 games, so I'd hope it's a concurrent number. But until you know more, it's a number in a vacuum that provides little actual "meaning". |

You're right, I should move on, but it's the internets. heheh.
Anyhow, I appreciate your ideal. And I wish companies put out perfect products. But what I expect is something else, and it was accounted for when I spent my $43 (tax). You even said it is better than the average.
Some games I'm willing to put up with that, other games I wait a month or two and buy if it is patched.
Anyhow, have a good nite. Good chattin'. |

You can't seriously be putting forth the "I didn't have any problems so there must not be any" argument, are you?
Pretty much. I've played horrible games that wouldn't play on ANY setup, that should NOT have been released. This isn't one of them. I've also seen plenty of other people that have bought the game and are completely content. If the product were absolute crap, as you are implying, there would be a LOT more complaint.
And here you are whining about my whining. Hypocrite much?
Nope, I told you to shut up or move on. That isn't whining. Whining would be like "I don't like people that whine on the internet, they are like people ass-raping my delicate feelings." Sound familiar?

No, I want products that are done.
And you know what? You're not in a position to tell me what to do. If I want to "whine", as you put it, I'll do so. If that bothers you, it's your problem. Like I said, I played for a bunch of hours on day 1 with one single problem (on a pretty non-standard config). And I figured multiplayer would be boarked (more because of their servers being overloaded than client issues, which there were). That sounds pretty done to me.
And I see you HAVE found a new hobby, whining on the internet. Congrats. |

Verno,
Here you are: http://mt3chn1k.com/blues/favor.jpg
I dunno if there are different multiplayer favor points, as I said I've only played single player since I got it.
Bhruic,
Nope, your analogy isn't even close. Mine, while admittedly more severe, does capture the nature of the situation. That is, all of the publishers are doing "wrong", but one of them is doing slightly less "wrong". Sure, you could cheerlead one of them with "Yay, you don't suck quite as much as the next guy", but that's about it. You must not understand rape. It involves forcing someone against their will to submit. I don't see a publisher putting out a game, even if it were unfinished, as being akin to rape at all. Sorry.
Regardless, you want perfect finished products, that isn't going to happen. And as much as you whine about it, it STILL isn't going to happen. So either relax, or find another hobby. |

I'm sorry, Bhruic, but anal rape and "It takes a couple of tries to get a multi player game going" aren't the same thing. Try this:
If you dropped your car off for repairs at two shops, both cost $500 to fix it, both did it in 4 days, but only one of them gave you an estimate and called you back with updates, which shop would get your business?
