4GB is plenty of memory. I was hoping for 2GB from the new generation. People complain about long load times now when they just have to fill 512MB of memory, get ready for load times 8 times as long (or will they have and SSD instead of a regular hard drive?).
The GPU is vastly different situation compared to a PC. In a console programmers get up close to the hardware but in windows the APIs can make things 5-10 times as slow depending on what you are trying to accomplish. You are forced to program for many different architectures and so you go through the layers of generalization which can cost you huge depending on the actual function of course. |

| The original leak got taken down after a threat from an advertising company that works with MS... Even if this stuff is not final it is probably authentic. |

Cannot be over $250. It will be similar to the PS3 and 360 as far as its processing power is concerned so they have to price it around where the current consoles are.
The Swedish price for the controller can easily be cut in half to get what it might cost in the USA, BTW. So around $100.
199 BPS would probably translate to $230-$250 price tag here in the states. |

Verno wrote on Jun 14, 2012, 09:37: Yeah, not using Skype anymore then. I can't believe they thought a massive ad interrupting the conversation would be ok. There is no interruption. They show an image on screen only during audio chats. Why would anyone even be looking at that window during a voice-only chat?
Anyone who pays anything will see no change. Free users will get a silent ad during audio-only chats. How does anyone even care? |

| WTF ars technica? Assange is not facing any rape or assault charges in Sweden he is just wanted for questioning and there are no women accusing him of anything. The prosecutor at the behest of the USA is trying to charge him anyways but so far he is just wanted for questioning! A woman filed a complaint when he didn't use a condom and wanted him tested for STDs. The prosecutor nudged by the USA decides to turn this into a rape charge without the cooperation of the woman. No victim is accusing him of anything. |

| That was not a sexist comment. The statement did not place one sex above another nor judge anyone by their sex. Rude to the particular person maybe. Objectifying maybe. Sexist? Definitely not. |

| oh, and impeding peaceful protests is also dumb if you don't want violence. Better to let people express themselves peacefully as much as they want. |

Tom wrote on May 3, 2012, 18:06: Seems you're in need of some sanity alright. Really? I guess you don't have something useful to say like: the poorer keep getting poorer while the rich get richer and food prices have doubled since just 10-15 years ago. Jobs paid more back then too. Don't you worry that the direction we are heading is towards revolution? I am not too worried but man the people at the top sure seem to want one the way they shit on the people that carry them on their backs. You cannot keep breaking down the base of the pyramid, make the top heavier and expect to keep the pyramid standing. |

| Apple software dude sells stocks worth $38 million in one day. A million people's yearly salary in one day. I am sure his time on this planet is that much more valuable than anyone else's. How long before the poor take to the streets? Is that what rich people really want? the guillotine? For the sake of my children I would hope that sanity will prevail and soon. |

| I can guarantee there is no license that specifically states which data on the disk is not licensed to the end user who bought the disk. There is no question in my mind that these hackers did nothing wrong by any standards. |

| There may be fewer middle-of-the road games next generation but smaller teams will surely have a greater presence as evidenced by Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. He is right that games shouldn't cost much more in fact it may go down for top of the line games since the original art assets will be the same but there will be less optimization needed to fit the memory footprint and to match the processing capabilities. Better AI and physics routines shouldn't add too much to the cost I would think. |

| The graphics chip will be about 6 times faster than the 360's chip. Cpu is not part of this rumor. which is why they are saying it will be about 20% faster than the Wii U's graphic chip. I bet the CPUs and the memory in the Wii U and the 720 will be much further apart in processing power. |

The horse is already out of the barn! Seems like you need to read the article. Or maybe you have no idea what you wrote means?
By banning people they are actually stopping cheaters and they are discouraging others from doing so... What point has been crossed that has changed the game and its community forever? That is what your quote suggests after all. |

I don't know anyone who has netflix who doesn't love it. Between 2 adults and 2 kids in our household we easily watch 3-4 hours a day on average. I don't have cable and I haven't rented a disc since the local video store closed down. There are lots of shitty content for sure but there is great content added faster than anyone could possibly consume it. If you are only looking for the most prevalent(available everywhere else) Hollywood blockbusters you may want to look elsewhere but anything less common than that you will probably find. I especially like all the great films that aren't easy to find on disc or through file sharing that I can watch instantly.
As for hastings, he has created a great company that has grown a huge customer base so I don't think one flub makes him a sucky business man. |
