Good pal of mine is a physician and he's said for years that multivitamins are just another way to literally piss away your money. And the Vitamin D really only applies to white people - or those of northern European descent. Bundled up all winter or indoors we're vitamin D deficient whereas those in sunbelt are not. So get yer dairy on in the winter! And that works for me 'cause I drink more milk than anyone on earth.

Yes, because people of different skin colors don't need vitamin D. This has to be the dumbest thing I have seen you type yet.

In fact, a one second search of the web would show you that it has been theorized that people with darker skin tones are actually MORE at risk of being vitamin D deficient.

hahaha did this get posted here yet?

Fargo Man Arrested For Clearing Snow With Flamethrower - Fox stated that he was simply “fed up with battling the elements” and that he did not possess the willpower necessary to move “four billion tons of white bull shit”.

Didn't want to link the story, looks like the website was hijacked....

last I checked this news story was a hoax If not, correct me please ^^

Pretty sure it was actually a farcical article, like something the Onion would print. There is no law against "fire-breathing weaponry." I mean, come on, that even sounds made up. I can't believe people always fall for these.

Multivitamins are a funny subject.

Do they boost your health? Duh, of course not.

However, if you read the study, it states that "well nourished" people gain nothing from them.

There are a TON of studies about how most people living in the world, even in 1st world countries, are not well nourished. The steady stream of shit we eat is not a balanced diet. Most women are short on iron. A lot of people are short on vitamin D, especially in the winter months.

I know I don't eat a very balanced diet, therefore I take a vitamin to make sure I get the stuff that is not in my food. I actually take extra vitamin D at the recommendation of my doctor because I work indoors and do not get enough sunlight. It has a perceptible effect on my mood and attitude.

So, should you take them to make you super healthy? No. Should you take them if you aren't getting the right combination of them in your diet? Probably.

I never realized how poor the average Americans diet is until this past year. Most people have deficiencies and don't know it. Doctors are too quick to assign you a prescription and send you on your way.

I take the Vitamin D and Multivitamin too. I also take Magnesium because I became deficient due to taking Acid Reflux medicine (Over 70% of Americans don't get enough magnesium). I was deficient on several other vitamins and minerals as well and it took months of seeing many doctors and specialists to figure out why my health was deteriorating for no apparent reason. I never knew that acid-reflux meds can block the absorption of many important vitamins and minerals. I was constantly feeling weak and hungry and didn't know why. I couldn't go more than a few hours without eating because I would literally start shaking and feeling really weak. After changing my diet, quiting the acid-reflux meds, and taking tons of supplements, I'm finally getting back to normal and would suggest that anyone on stomach meds have blood work done to make sure that all your levels are in order because by the time you find out what's wrong it might be too late to make a full recovery. Now I can go 24 hours without eating and I've lost almost 40 lbs and back to my normal weight.

Hmm, I am on Dexilant permanently because my stomach overproduces acid. Had bloodwork done, but not sure if they were looking for deficiencies.

The test that proves if your cellular (amount in muscles and bones) magnesium level is low is a special test that most doctors don't bother with. They tend to check your blood magnesium level which can very drastically due to daily intake.

I had all kinds of health problems from Omeprazol but it took me about 5-6 months to figure out the cause. I got to the point where I could barely use my hands. All the muscles and tendons in my hands and arms began to cramp up and eventually I couldn't use my computer. My muscle mass shrunk pretty drastically. I was in constant pain in my hands and arms. Even typing a single sentence was unbearable but I work in IT so I scoured the web looking for help. I thought maybe I had Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or RSI but then the symptons spread to my legs and feet. The sad thing is that I went to many doctors who were clueless and in the end, I found out what was wrong with me. I quit the Omeprazol and began getting better immediately. I am still not 100% but I'm getting better every day.

Yeah, I was put on Omaprazole to start with, but I had a pretty negative reaction, and it didn't work too great. Dexilant worked much better for me, although I can't take a course and stop, I have to be on it non-stop.

Cost of a pair of windscreen wipers: $12.
Cost of a sound wave forcefield generator: $????????

I'm going to say most cars will just stay with windscreen wipers, really.

Probably for now, yeah. Of course McLaren's can have it on them. I mean, if you can afford one in the first place, you can afford force fields. That's one of the companies that doesn't care how much something costs as long is it is cool.

China Rising update broke my game......awesome.

People seem to have better than average knowledge of computers/software on bluesnews, so don't be insulted, but have you tried the Repair Install function through Origin?

Of course if you have SLI, ignore the above, there is a texture issue still with SLI.

It broke mine too. I had to uninstall and reinstall (after re-downloading overnight) to get it to work again. Yes, I tried the repair function a bunch of times. Also, EAs customer service people are morons. They are literally following a script that they don't even understand. They asked me to check that my computer was ON. Yes, asshole, I'm trying to get the game to launch, it won't, but the computer is completely off. I am just describing the screen to you from my imagination.

All this to get it working just in time for them to fuck it up royally with this patch. Call of DOOOOTY!

Amen to that, as a guitarist; keiths pretty much my number 1 hero.

You ever see Reverend Horton Heat?

He has some good stories about rock stars that people say are the best that can't play shit outside of their little window.

I consider the Rev to be the best there is.

I'd say a good majority of musicians are like that, though. I can jam out Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance, etc pretty well on my bass. The Allman Brothers? Good God, I sound like I don't know how to play at all.

Ditto on drums. Anything with double bass and a fast tempo and I am all over it. I sound like a kid with ADD when I try to do stuff like the Beatles.

So they guys from Avenged probably can't play the blues so well. I'm OK with that, as it's not what I want to hear them play anyway. Styles and tech change music over time, and nobody is really the best. There are different levels of skill, but I'm guessing Horton Heat can't play the stuff that John Petrucci or Satriani can play. Doesn't mean he's not a world class guitarist, he just doesn't play the same style.

As far as Richards? They were talking about him being so drunk on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean that they had trouble filming his scenes. I'm 100% convinced that if Jerry Garcia hadn't tried to go straight he would still be alive today. Their bodies are used to what they put in them. When they stop, it's like a shock to the system. (Billy Idol?)

That's it people, we need a time machine, and we need it now. I have to go back in time to KILL GEORGE LUCAS! Right after Willow.

George Lucas?
Yes?
Hasta la vista, baby. RATATATATATATATATATATATATA!

Problems solved. No more Han shooting first, no more prequels, no more lying. (Lucas is famous for saying one thing and then saying he never said it, even though it was recorded and sold on making of videos.)

I'd like it if they fixed the odd lag I get just as someone is about to kill me. Great predictive code you have there. Instead of leveling the playing field, it ensures I will die every time someone with a shitty ping shoots at me, because I can't move until they kill me.

Just saw The Desolation of Smaug. I thought it was great. I know purists are going to have conniptions over the last 40 minutes, and maybe I was the only one to see the ending coming, but people in the theater were not happy that it basically ends in the middle of an action scene.

On the plus side: LEGOLAS! Kickin' ass. has the best action sequences alongside Tauriel. Smaug! Looks great, sounds awesome. (To be fair, anybody could have done his voice as it had a lot of effects applied.) Mirkwood looked fantastic, as did Erebor. Luke was actually a good choice for Bard.

ON the negative side: Beorn. Wait, was he in this movie? And also, perhaps an intermission would be a nice thing for a 2 horu and 40 minute movie. Love the long movies, but man I had to pee by the end.

It'll be a shitty overpriced display with crappy refresh rates that just make everything look awful and stretched out. Fools and their money for useless gadgets that don't really bring a lot to the table. It'll collect dust and you'll just keep telling yourself that some major game or something else will came out that eventually takes full advantage of it, but it won't. Otherwise you'll just be looked at like an idiot with a piece of head gear on twirling your head around like a moron.

Not everyone gets motion sickness. My cousin took me up in a training jet once and started doing crazy stunts, expecting me to get sick. I thought it was a blast. He was a fighter pilot, I had never been in a plane before, let alone a tiny training jet.

Some people can ride roller coasters all day, some people hurl.

My only weakness is carousels. I cannot even look at them without getting queasy. Barrel rolls, high G turns? No problem. Horse moving up and down while spinning in a circle? *HURP*

My wife cannot watch me play FPS games, she gets sick. She got sick once while playing WoW because the camera was too close to her character.

The point is, nobody has the same reaction.
