I'm going to cry when Justified ends this year. On the other hand, Sons of Anarchy feels like it is reaching its natural end. Longmire makes me want to kill someone at A&E. (Hopefully it will be picked up by another network)

Also, Nathan Drake now looks just like Nolan North. Can we please have Nolan play him in the live action now?

Yeah, it's conditioning. They see a line and hop in just in case they need to be there. Xbox One? Shit, I thought maybe this was the toilet paper line. Oh well.

Holy shit!!! They are promising to ship a game thats going to work out of the box??!! You gotta be fucking shitting me, I mean who in their right mind ever ships working products at launch, right????

They're lying. Every BF game since 2 has shipped with some of the exact same bugs, and it takes them months to patch them. Because having done it before they apparently didn't document how they fixed it in the last game?

I love BF, but I am not buying this. And unless 5 ships working great, I'm not buying that either.

loved the original, i think it was possibly the first game that i played on a home console after first playing it in the arcade.

gauntlet first, then golden axe are probably my fav cabinet games of the 80's
They did remake Golden Axe for PS3 or something, but it sucked? I played its arcade and IBM PC DOS ports a lot!

Golden Axe: Beast Rider. OM-effing-G, SO horrible.

Got it. Had to. Guantlet II was my all time favorite arcade game. I've been wanting to buy a cabinet for a long time. One day, when I have $2500 to spare, I will get one.

Anyway, loved Gauntlet Dark Legacy as well. So I go this. So far it's pretty cool. It's probably better with other people. Still getting used to it.

Elf shot the food! Now why would you do that?

I turned my AC on in March...and it hasn't turned off since.

Yeah, I'm with you. April here, but yeah. Of course, Blue lives in my old state, while I know reside is nice, sunny NC.

My only complaint is that the story is so patchy it's pretty much worthless. I beat all of the missions and strikes, read all the online stuff on my Destiny app, and still really have no idea what is going on. Darkness coming for us all, blah blah blah. If all the bad guys work for the darkness, why do they all fight each other?

And how I am supposed to take the robot Captain Mal?

So what do you think of the theory going around that we, the players, are the darkness?

I hadn't seen that. Sounds ridiculous, so it might be true.

This thread is a little light on facts, so let's have some shall we?

If that person is over 65, are they likely to die from the flu? Yup, people 65 and over have something like a 90% mortality rate when infected with the flu.

LOL.

The guy who knows nothing about football is doing quite well! People at work are asking for my advice picking teams for the pool. They think I am lying when I tell them to just pick their favorite team name or mascot.

Movie tropes. Didn't watch it all but saw the asteroid belt trope which is my number 2 pet sci-fi peeve. And they ALL do it. I've never seen a movie or series that didn't depict asteroid belts as thick and crowded.

My number one peeve is the lights inside spacesuit helmets that illuminate the astronaut's faces. They all do that too - even 2001 IIRC. Like driving a car at night with the inside lights on.

Astronauts apparently love being blinded all the time. :p

The only one in the movie trope video I had a bit of an issue with was the pistol shot vs padlock. Mythbusters actually tested that one, and found that a sufficiently heavy caliber pistol CAN actually destroy a (flimsy) padlock.

The helmet lights are just so you can see the actor. In reality, all you would see is a black hole, or at best a reflection. But the rest of the tropes? Yeah, super irritating.

Gasoline? Liquid gasoline DOES NOT IGNITE! It's the fumes that ignite, and all throwing your cigarette into the gas would do is put it out. And the whole shooting the gas puddle/ gas tank/ what ever is filled with gas is so annoying. Bullets are copper and lead. Neither of these will strike sparks on impact, which means you have a 0% chance of igniting shit. (Unless you put the gun barrel close enough to try to ignite the fumes with the burning powder, in which case you will burn too.) I have seen a couple of smarter movies where the characters taped flares to propane tanks, threw the tanks, and then used bullets to punch holes in the tanks allowing the flares to ignite the escaping gas. Unfortunately, in real life you cannot predict if the tank will explode or just wiz around like a firework.

The padlock thing? Totally depends on the bullet. 124gr 9mm? Probably not. 185gr .40S&W? Probably. 300gr 50AE? Most definitely.

Hehe, when I was first starting out I used the Num Pad as well. It got so hard to get games to take input from the numpad that I gave up started using WASD.

WASD = move
INverted mouse
LB = Shoot
RB = Jump
M4 = Aim
M5/F = melee
M6/G = Secondary
Space = Crouch
C = Prone
P = Grenade
T = Flashlight
V = Fire mode
R = Reload
LSHift = Run
LCTRL = Slow/walk

Keep in mind that I use a ZBoard Merc STealth (Well, now Steelseries) so that all these keys surrounds the butterfly WASD keys in easy reach.

Just once, I would like to see the final poker hand winning tournament not be a royal flush, and instead be something realistic, like a three of a kind, or at most, a full house...

Happens all the time. In fact most tournaments I have been at is high pair.....just gotta pick your spot.

The best is winning on shit. Biggest pot I ever won was on a pair of twos. And what made it so sweet was everyone stayed in and everyone was bluffing.

Coolest, James Bondian thing I ever saw was a high stakes game at the Pioneer in Vegas 20 years ago. I'll relate it another time, but it was straight out of a Bond film, I swear.

Only if people got shot up after the game ended.

So they removed the mouse support in the UI (which was in the original game). The dev rep can be quoted as saying, "we only had time to do mouse controls or mod support, and we chose mod support."

Take it back, it's worth zero. I bet they have awesome mod support, their known for that, cough. I think Peter actually hates gamers at this point and it shows.

Peter doesn't even work there anymore.

anyone here tried this game with a HOTAS? (hands on throttle and stick) and care to comment on what works and what doesn't?

I bought the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick

I don't recall paying that much, though. Thought it was $50. I've got vertical thrust bound to a couple keys on the thruster which makes it much easier to fly. Only problem I found is that the front switch on the thrust controls don't seem to do anything and I can't bind them to anything. It'd be nice to have panels or thrust bound to that.

The controls have the Thrustmaster as an option, but I didn't care for it. I ended up changing things around. There's also a lot of hidden buttons on this thing, so I had to look it over and find all the buttons I could map. Overall it was well worth $50.

Thrustmaster + Rift = awesome. I'm up to about 2 hours in game with no problems. I've gotten pretty good at working the panels in the game, so now I just flip my head around to turn things on and off in the ship. And hitting hyperspace/supercruise never gets old.

It is $50. All the major retailers are out of stock, so the resellers are driving up the price.

The engineering for waste plants and stuff like that just fascinates me to no end.

And getting eaten alive. Yeah, that's gotta suck. Worst one I've seen is on teh Youtubes, two hyenas mowing down on a poor animal's - buffalo I think it was - stomach while the thing is still alive and just bleeding out. Darn nature, you're cruel. That and the pride of lions that take down the little elephant. So sad.

And yet PETA would have us all believing that animals have the deepest respect for each other and nothing bad ever happens in nature.

Watch a herd of Zebras kill a dog just for shits and giggles and get back to me, crazy animal worshipers. Nature is very cool, but by no means gentle or cruelty-free.
