I remember not bothering to see the last Indy movie because of how terrible everyone said it was, but not too long ago I was perusing through movie reviews by James Rolfe on Youtube (better known as the Angry Videogame Nerd or Angry Nintendo Nerd) since he does those too and he had a list of some of the most unfairly trashed movies in history and I think Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was number 2 (behind Ghostbusters 2 IIRC).

So, anyone have anything good to say about the last Indy film?

I liked it. It wasn't as good as either of the three before it, but it wasn't a bad movie. I mean, I've had people stand in my store and tell me how bad Kingdom was and then go on to praise Transformers. Really? I know it's all opinion, but...yeah. I'll take anything Spielberg makes over anything Bay makes any day of the week.

Not that Bay hasn't made some decent films. It's just that Transformers? Yeah. Wow.

Eh, all I know is that MS seems locked in to the 1 bad OS release followed by 1 good OS release cycle.

By that logic:

98 - Good
ME - OH God, is there a word that describes how bad that was?
XP - Good
Vista - WTF? NO!
7 - Good
8- Going to be bad? Most freakin' likely.

(No, I'm not counting the Enterprise centered NT OSs before they merged with consumer level.)

Personally I think a lot of users are drama queens. The one's that you list as omg bad, really weren't that bad vs the previous generation. ME vs 98, pretty much near the same damn thing. Vista got bad mouthed because driver compatibilty issues, if those weren't there it was better then XP in general or very close to not matter.

I see it more like:
95 (face it 98 and me were small additions to 95)
XP
Win7

As true generational jumps and the others stepping stones more then god awful attempts vs the predecessor. As for 8, this is a MS strategy to get into the phone and pad market that they completely blown, like the CEO should have been fired blown. If you don't pay them for getting these big moves right, why even pay them?

You weren't around for Windows ME, were you? Either that, or you don't remember just how bad it really was. Vista? It wasn't ME bad, but they broke shit that worked just fine on XP and it took them a year to fix most of it. (And some of it they never fixed at all.)

I worked in IT. You can "drama queen" me all you want, but I'll "ignorant bitch" you back.

PS, admin 20 systems? What kind of for shit user sample is that? 20 systems out of how many ME installs? I had hundreds of customers with ME issues, and you can easily find thousands upon thousands of horror stories online.

I am just happy that my day job used NT 4.0.

Rage is $6 with free shipping at NewEgg. Don't know how long this will last.

I told myself I'd pick it up during the Steam if it went below $10, which it didn't. Now I have a chance to grab it for $6, but I'm having second thoughts. I look at all the games I haven't even started or haven't finished, and I'm kind of thinking I might just write this one off.

For $6 you too can experience Rage. And you might even get to play the game, too.

5 billion wasn't designing, 5 billion was total. Not really too surprising, given that they had to make how many uniforms? A lot of that money would have been spent, anyway, even if they'd not bothered looking into new camo.

Still, that seems extremely excessive. Let's assume $1b (!) for design and testing, and $4b for production. The army currently has 560,000 active soldiers but let's use 700,000 to account for rotation in and out of the army over the past few years since the design was implemented. That's about $5700 per soldier for uniforms. A full ACU is less than $100 on Amazon, and I'm sure the army gets a better deal buying in bulk, so I'm wondering where all the money went?

Big Army, man. Big Army. The money gets taken back if they don't spend it and the budget gets lowered, so they spend it anyway they can. They knew from the start that the ACU was shit, but they fielded it anyway. Many, many soldiers in the sandbox have been injured and killed because ACU is a fucking walking target. It doesn't blend with anything. (Except old couch patterns.)

GW2 is a cash grab on an IP just like D3 is.

It's a shallow game that should not have the phrase "Guild Wars" in it. Current trend mmo players will have fun with it for a couple months at best.

The setting, combat and PvP all felt pretty GW-ish to me though I'm not even sure what that means exactly. I liked the first game but I wasn't a fanatic or anything. Anyways, Guild Wars 2 is not F2P in the traditional sense. You pay for a boxed copy but there are no monthly costs. There was a cash shop for things in the last BWE but I didn't really see anything in there that would affect balance so I'm not worried about it. From what I saw you could conceivably play it in a reasonable way without ever adding funds beyond the initial cost.

Unless you're an alt-o-holic like me, then you need extra character slots. That's pretty much all I bought for the original game. (Literally. I got all the games for free from the website I worked for.)

I have a CE pre-booked with my distributor for myself, but will I actually play it when it comes out? Dunno. It depends on how engrossed I am in GW2 and Borderlands 2. I can't see paying $15 a month for a game that doesn't interest me as much as one that is free to play every month.

Should read stupid libertarians think net neutrality is unconstitutional.

I'm a libertarian. I understand technology, however, and think these groups are out of their friggin' minds. Net Neutrality is the only way to ensure censorship isn't rampant.

A lot of PA good will + a lot of people who hate ads, I guess.

While I respect what PA is trying to do, it seems unnecessary to me. They have a good income source while still maintaining editorial independence.

Yup, I like PA, and I've even paid for some of the books, but I'd never pay for this. But, just because I wouldn't doesn't mean that I think anybody should stop others who want to do so.

The voice acting is mind-blowingly terrible though.

What? Patrick Warburton, Nolan North, Steve Blum, Felicia Day, etc. I haven't heard any really awful voice acting in the game, and most of it is really good.

Too bad I don't play WoW anymore. Maybe for a couple months when MoP releases I will care.
You know, I had been think along those lines, but now 10 months after getting out I really can't see myself getting back in. Although, I have to admit if my guild was still going strong it might be a different story. But without all those people I spent hundreds (thousands?) of hours playing the game with? Not going to happen.

Hehe, yeah. My guild leader stepped down and the new douche booted me for not being active, so I don't have too much incentive either, other than checking out the new stuff. If I am swamped at the store or invested in other games, I might not even get the new expansion.

They figured out how to do it in DIII, so they are FINALLY getting it for WoW. Too bad I don't play WoW anymore. Maybe for a couple months when MoP releases I will care.

Or maybe I will be too busy playing GW2.

Anyone who says that the crash of '83 is going to happen all over again has a very limited knowledge of business and finance. The circumstances are only similar in the vaguest, most stretched reality sense ever.

Guess you have no idea about the causes of the 83 crash then.

Wow, great comeback. In fact, I know a good deal about it, but I refuse to have any sort of discussion with a person who accuses everyone of being a shill when he disagrees with them. You are clearly not worth the time it took me to type this.

Wow, great comeback. Exaggerate much, you wannabe dramaqueen? Me accusing anyone of being a shill for disagreeing? What? Only Beamer and Krovven got that distinction and for good reason. Then again, anyone who goes out full guns like this isn't worth anyone's time at all.

And guess this proved you really know nothing about the crash if this is your best you have to reply. In the future please refrain from talking about stuff you know shit about if all you are going to do is troll.
