It will be interesting to see what the reactions are.

Well, a lot of us have already been playing in the betas. I already know I love the game, because I have played it. And I cannot wait to get my game on Friday night. (I scheduled my part-time employee for all day Saturday so I can sit in the office and play.)

For those of you that have tried the beta and are also WoW players, how do the two compare? Does GW2 improve upon WoW or is simply a different approach to the genre? If you could only play one, which would it be?

GW2.

I like WoW, but it is so stale after 7 years. The things that really bother me they never change, but they are constantly "fixing" things like skill trees. GW2 takes the formula and gives it a nice polish. They add in a bunch of things from other MMOs that were good, and it makes for a fun game. Couple that with no subscription - so I don't feel guilty for putting it down for months to play other games - and you have a winner.

Did we ask for another Counter-strike? Nope. I think people are still enjoying the other one. And why change that now with a new CS? Why change everything these players have been learning and getting a feeling for. because you need to make more money? Welp, that's not our problem. So, don't make it our problem by shoving another CS product down our throats.

Dude, did you wake up with a porcupine in your butt or what? No one is shoving anything down your throat. Don't want it? Don't buy it.

I swear some people...

Wow the day you ban me for having a different view than others is the day you first broke a bone? What about that? Well unlike most here I hope you feel better. With that said, people on here constantly cuss, say rude comments, etc...and I never see them get banned. A matter of fact, they are still going strong. However, let a christian say his view and he gets banned. Some would call that being a bigot...Go look up the word.

Wow, that's some spooky god you have there. When he's angry he makes people stub their toes!

Or he burns them for eternity! IN HELL!

I mean, not to poke fun at your religion, but for a guy who was CONSTANTLY telling everyone here how we swallowed the news without doing any research, you sure swallowed the whole burn in hell thing without doing any research.

You'll note that listening to a religious leader spout propaganda is NOT research. *Disclaimer* I was raised baptist. Something never sat quite right with the way the Bible says one thing, but the pastor claimed it meant another. Turns out, in the midst of all those translations, the good King James' scholars decided a bunch of different Greek words needed to be changed. Oh, and, you know, the church decided that a bunch of books - although supposedly divinely inspired - were not good enough for inclusion into the "official" bible. Couple that with priests and pastors I have met over the years who don't even believe the shit they tell other people, and it led me to research my own faith. I still believe in God, but I also believe that people have a great capacity for evil, and that people in charge of giant organizations usually care more about power than truth.

bones bruise as well as break.. it hurts like hell but you dont need to get it reset like a break

Unless you really messed up the bone, they mostly don't do squat for broken toes. I had a 500 lb swingset dropped on my right big toe once. Snapped the bone in two. Work made me go get x-rayed and all the fun stuff, and do you know what the doctor did? Gave me Tylenol and told me to stay off it. Broke my pinky toe a couple of years after that, same deal except I was dating a nurse and she just told me not to bother going to the hospital. (Which I wasn't going to do anyway.)

I also managed to slam my thumb in my van door and get it locked in there while trying to get my wallet to pay for gas. Managed to get it unlocked and go in and pay for the gas. The nice folks in line let me cut as they could see I was in pain. Then the nice lady directed me to the nearest Urgent Care, which was - luckily - right across the street. Snapped that bone in two as well, but I can say without hesitation that the thumb hurt a lot more than either toe. I had to take painkillers and get a splint that I had to wear for months, and my thumb never did look normal again.

What we really need is Futurama's suicide booths. Your choice of quick, slow, painless, agonizing, and the added bonus of someone making a profit off of it.

Anytime you involve someone else as the mechanism of your death (train/subway driver, cop), you're scarring them for life as they're left with the guilt of ending you. Even unintentional suicide like people trying to go around the bars on roads out of impatience and not realizing their own stupidity messes up train drivers brains, as they're witnesses to something terrible that they couldn't stop.

I agree with the likes of nin, Agent.X7 and Aseven in this case though. A slow wasting disease will fuck up kids that age for life, as surely as witnessing him blow his brains out would. You'll still need counseling either way. As to how much better/worse a quick suicide is, knowing that your dad ended it on his feet, well that's a grisly debate that hopefully no one here has to weigh for themselves.

Man on Fire was a great movie. Now's a great time for a revenge flick like that if you're upset about this. Remember the man for what he was, not how he ended.

Clip of the movie (spoilers), at 3:20 a scene to change the subject http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRhj6BF2hMA

Apparently they took the non-subtitle white text out of later versions. Talk about gutting an effective creative touch of stylized emphasis of dialogue...

My point is just that there are ways that don't put anyone else in danger, scar them, or otherwise ruin their day. You're absolutely correct about what it must do to the guy operating the train or subway, or the diver that's searching for the body, or the driver that sees the man jump off the bridge.

Suicide is absolutely not black and white, but there are ways to do it that don't have wider implications on a wider audience. I'd still put the Jackie-O suicide as one of the better managed one (which is a privilege she had.) Family crowded around, said goodbye and had their closure, and she slipped off in a painless, clean morphine overdose.

Very true. if you want to end it, do it yourself and don't involve other peoples' lives. A bullet to the noggin'? Go you. Jump in front of a bus? You're a fucker. Sure, the police have to show up either way, but now you've potentially injured dozens on the bus, scarred the driver for life, caused other accidents, etc.

I didn't even realize that they were going to do Fallout 4. I mean, after New Vegas, I kind of figured they'd follow that naming convention. Fallout: Bean Town. Fallout: New New York. Fallout: We're milking this shit dry!

I don't know why, but I'm not really too excited by this. Hopefully they update the engine in a major way. I'd love to see a full remake of the first one.

Sorry but suicide is a selfish cowardly act - especially as his twin sons are only 12.

Maybe he didn't want them to go through watching him slowly die but to rip himself out of their lives will do way more harm in the long term.

Says someone who has probably never had a family member waste away in front of them. Trust me, I would pick having my grandfather be suddenly missing every fucking time over watching him die for a year. My grandmother did from cancer as well, but it hit so quick and hard she was in the hospital only a few days before she passed. It was so much easier on all of us. We were still sad, but having it drawn out for a long time SUCKS.

Wow this is in such poor taste I am amazed someone was dumb enough to think it, let alone type it and post it. I hope you get banned for this kind of shit posting.

What a wonderfuly Christian thing to say! He killed himself and he is going to Hell!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHH!

So many people giving other people a bad rap. I believe in a God, but I don't believe in hell. Hell was a purposeful mistranslation designed to give the Church an axe to hold over the "faithful." I can't believe how many people swallow everything they are told with no desire to find out if it is even true.

Suicide? Not much of a fan myself - so many people take the easy way out instead of toughing it out - HOWEVER, I can certainly see choosing to die on your own terms rather than be wasted away by disease. It's hard on you, it's hard on your family. Death is certainly never easy on them, but a quick death might at least let them grieve and move on.

A basic 500ml plastic bottle of coke here (UK) is about $1.70.

Not a big fan of sugary fizzy drinks personally.

Are there pictures of kilted men on the bottle?

Oh and +1 for the throwbacks. Pepsi is my favorite as of now but I'd like to try a Dr. Pepper that isn't made of corn, also.

Yeah, I pretty much stick with Pepsi Throwback or smaller companies like Jones who make drinks with real sugar. I would like Dr. Pepper and a few other big name ones to make a real sugar version, but I don't think they will. HFCS is too profitable for them. (Even though it tastes like liquid shit, in my opinion.) I also try to only drink one or two a day because damn they have a lot of extra calories.

Yeah, even in Binghamton, NY we have Mexican Coke all over the place. Wegman's super market has cases of it for sale, and our local Sam's Club has it as well.

I prefer Pepsi Throwback though. (Pepsi made with real sugar.)

P.S: Please stop talking about the next game you are going to play that isn't released. We keep thinking we will and then get disappointed. I hope GW2 rocks but will wait to hear.

First, most of us are talking from experience in the betas, not "the next game we are going to play but haven't yet".

Second, how many MMO's do you know of have actually had overwhelmingly positive buzz from beta players? Most MMO beta's have people screaming that the game is far from release worthy. So, you don't have to "wait to hear"... the talk is already out there.

Third, in reference to a GOOD free to play game (box purchase only) vs. a subscription game... that will have a lot of appeal for a lot of folks. Granted they have a store for micro-transactions, but after buying the initial game, there is absolutely zero FORCED reason to buy anything in the store.

Anyway... you'll find out sooner or later, as you "wait to hear".

Yeah, a bunch of us already know we are going to love GW2 because we have been playing it.

One. More. Week. Trying so hard to not go nuts waiting.

Oooh ouch. I feel bad for Blizz stockholders. I mean, how many years now has that stock been virtually at a stand still?

On topic: What Blizz 'should' be doing is offering all expansions and the base game with Pandaria if they want to attract new players. Right now the barrier for entry at end game is just to high. Yes, they offer a bundled WoW + BC but there's also WotLK for $20 and Cataclysm is still going for $40, and you have another coming out in a month for $40. If they want to attract a new customer base, asking for $120 just to get all the content is rather steep.

Not that Blizz would 'ever' offer say a $60 bundle for all (sans perhaps Pandaria). They are still making far to much selling it all desperately.

I'm actually selling 2 "Catch-up" packs in my store for $34.99. Base game + all current expansions.

This would be cool if they let anyone play any race on either side. I want a Tauren that defected to the alliance. It's in a bunch of their stories, why can't I do it too?

Ah, who am I kidding. I still wouldn't be playing. I don't have too much free time, and the time that I do have right now is going to go to GW2.
