This was the first gaming magazine I had a subscription to, and was a publication I would read from cover to cover every month when I was younger. My early addiction to NP was in no doubt formative to my current-day addiction to Bluesnews. The only other gaming magazines I can recall being as excited in receiving as NP were Sierra's magazine, Interaction, and Electronic Gaming Monthly.
The era of gaming mags is officially over at the end of this year, as far as I'm concerned. Every gaming mag I see nowadays seems outright bought and paid for by publishers, which is funny because two of my favorites were directly from large publishers. I was flipping through an old Game Informer at a buddy's place not too long ago and saw the review for RAGE. 9/10. 'nuff said. Shocking, since Game Informer is owned by Gamestop. |

That's like saying "Doom isn't a video game, it's a first person video game."
Secondly, it claims stained glass is thicker on the bottom due to flow. It isn't. Glass doesn't flow. It's due to manufacturing decisions. Ah, yeah, I watched it twice and still missed the part where they said it flows. Yeah, that part is definitely not true.
Another term I love: Glass reinforced polymer. I know what it is, but calling it that makes my head spin. Different Glass reinforced glass might be closer to what it really is. |

When you read books by former special forces operators, they are very vague on specifics when it comes to tactics and equipment. Why? Because they have to be. They are responsible for keeping secrets for life, not just until they retire.

I admit it, I downloaded Curiosity. Because I was, you know, curious. I my defense, it's free to play and free to download, so I spent nothing but a couple of minutes. You know, trying to figure out why this is a thing.
I get Minecraft. I don't like it myself, but I can see the appeal. I watched Jimmie and Freddie Wong play it a bit, seemed like fun, but I can't get into it.
This? This is nothing like Minecraft. All you do is break blocks by touching them, endlessly. The description promises it will be more than that, but I don't see how. |

And here is the major issue in this election: You all are arguing over Obomney. Same guy, different pants.
I voted my conscience (Gary Johnson), and didn't have to pick the lesser of two evils. If everyone would do that, we wouldn't be stuck with two sports teams running the country into the shithole. |

Arg.
So, the main difference seems to be graphics (duh) and that the PC/Console version have more than 2 characters on screen at a time.
BUT, the PC controls are FUCKING AWFUL. Seriously, who defaults to all keyboard control in 2012? You pretty much need a controller to play it, and unfortunately mine was at work. |

I get the feeling the dev team is looking long-term. Hopefully Elona and Cantha. |

Creston, how do you have 2 80s? I thought I was playing the game a lot, but my main isn't even 80 yet (69, I think) and my alts aren't even close. (Only one is 30, the rest are all sub 20) Guess I'm not playing as much as I thought. The funny thing is that I have 2 80s, but a grand total of 3 gold... :\ I also have a 20 something and a 10 something.
I've probably played around 300 hours, but the big thing is to just log in and get the daily achievements every day. I had left my thief at 65 and went to play my Guardian, then decided to get my thief to 80 as well.
I got her from 67 to 75 by mastering cooking, and then the last five levels I just did dailies in Queensdale. You kill everything in basically 1 or 2 shots, are never in danger, there's a billion events going on, and every day with the dailies you get like 120K xp. (plus 4500 karma!!) Nine days later she was 80, and every day took me like 30 mins or so.
Playing an elementalist again, hopefully the class will sit better with me this time around.
Creston Yeah, I spend all my money on crafting supplies. I almost never get the daily achievement, because I get to play sporadically during the day, and then when I get home the daily is reset. I make it most fo the way, and then it gets reset again. Luckily, I did get the monthly for October. (Whole pile of Karma pots, whoo!) |

Maybe your playing too many different toons at once or not doing enough events. There are approximately 3 zones for every 10 levels. After level 25 or so I started doing all 3 zones for a range (30 to 40). I'm still in the 65 to 70 zones at 78.90 level. So I still have about 6 full zones left. Plenty of XP. I was being sarcastic. I work 60 hours a week, I have a 2 year old daughter, and I do a lot of other things besides playing GW2. It's not a big mystery to me why I haven't hit 80 yet. |

I hope the Xmas event is better than the Halloween one. Wasn't at all impressed with it. To each their own Cutter but if you weren't impressed by the Halloween event I'm going to assume you only participated in Act 1. Because in whole, it surpassed every other MMOGs holiday event. I mean WoW has been known for having great holiday events but they usually consist of a few new quests that take you an hour, an achievement and if your lucky, a new boss to farm. Boring and tiny by comparison.
I had an extreme amount of fun doing the clock tower, the soft PvP and the Mad King's dungeon. I gained 10+ levels, got a whole bunch of fun stuff, a bunch of exotics waiting to be equipped, and two of the unique skins. I can only hope future events are even close to as good.
On topic, really looking forward to the Lost Shore later this month. The clues in Lion's Arch have been titillating, I'm sure it'll be great fun and if it includes even half as much content as the Halloween event did, it'll mean GW2 has had more 'free' content updates than WoW has in more than a year. Hell of a bargain if you ask me. I liked WoW's holiday stuff, but it got to the point where it's the same stuff every year. If you've done it once, there was no reason to do it again 6 years in a row. |

The Halloween events were pretty fun. A couple of mini-dungeons, some PvP games, scavenger hunts with cool back items for completing them, and cool holiday themed items.
This new thing seems to be a pirate themed land that is being released. (They teased with puzzles in Twitter and FB)
