I guess Mark Rein should have taken a nice helping of shut the fuck up and actually done some fucking work for once so his uninspired shitball game could have made its release date. Oops!

Maybe a weekend tf2 preview release or a 'get tf2 early if you pre-order orange box'. We'll see soon. If they did that, then I'd preorder right now, no hesitation.

As for conc grenades/jumping, this is something I don't see why they left out. In TFC conc jumping was more of a skill than spamming. It took a little while to get use to it but once you got the hang of it, it was awesome. As for defending against the conc it's all about strategy, and believe it or not in my past clan experiences the spy was much more of a threat than the conc. In clan games, yes, it's different, but in casual games, I could end things pretty quick by conc jumping around alone, taking the teamplay out of the game almost completely.
Grenades in TFC is like skiing in Tribes : it made things very skill-based and competitive among the veteran players, but for new players, it gave them a massive learning curve that most couldn't get over. I think it's one reason why we aren't all gushing about the next Tribes sequel right now.
But I digress. I think the removal of grenades in TF2 is a positive change, since it will (hopefully) give the game plenty of long-term accessibility for newer players.

Removing grenades/conc jumping is the best thing they could have done. I've done the whole conc jumping thing in the past. There's not much you can do against it.

Even though the fact that more than half of that video was EA's usual obnoxious ad/credits spam, I'm excited about this game. I'll know from the demo whether I'll purchase it or not.
Quite a long list of goodies coming out for my favorite platforms this fall.

It is probably one of the main reasons why this game will ultimately fail, players will endlessly compare and contrast the way ETQW works and plays to Battlefield and most often will come to the conclusion that Battlefield, despite its many flaws, implemented most of these apparent similarities better. Agreed. The ETQW beta was fun, but it only succeeded in making my play BF2142 again, because, to me, it's so much better.

With one hand, Yee says that the ESRB isn't enough to protect our children from godlessness and evil...
With the other, he says that the Big Three console manufacturers should allow games that are adults only to be played on their systems...
Gotta love this political doubletalk. What a fucking asshole.
And I would so *do* Patricia Vance. She's yummy.

Preloads for the Bioshock demo have started for Fileplanet members. Demo is apparently going to be released Monday evening.

Why did you not wait and just see how Bioshock runs on the X800? I think you were just looking for an excuse to upgrade . . . immediately I think Bioshock requires a card that supports Pixel Shader 3.0. I think the oldest ATI card that supports it is the X1300, which is why it's in Bioshock's system requirements.
