JESUS CHRIST NO!
The last thing we need is WoW with Robots. No. No. No. Go sit in the corner and think about what you did. First off... Not robots...
Second, "knee-jerk" enough? Just because it's massively multiplayer doesn't mean it's going to be like WoW. |

Yup.
Honestly, this game looks more like WoW with crosshairs. I'll probably play it with my old Planetside buddies, though. |

| At first I thought this would be a mod based on the Neotokyo webcomic. I asked myself, "how would that work? Would players just emo each other to death with their giant anime eyes?" |

Holy shitballs, $25? I JUST finished Prototype, too, so now I need something else to play...
I'm a little hesitant, though, since I never got into Oblivion even though I bought it on release day. |

The single player is fun. The missions and gameplay are both pretty cool. There's a demo that has a lot of what the retail game has in it. Be sure to go check it out if you're interested in the game.
But good god, this has to be some of the worst voice over work I've ever been subjected to. And the intro cinematic just seems like disjointed insanity.
My only other complaint about the game is using the command map, but I'm using it with a controller, so it's hard to issue orders one unit at a time with a thumbstick.
I may have to check out these new map and unit packs, but I'm a little on the broke side right now, and I doubt I can pass up $25 for Fallout 3. |

Huh. Spiffy.
If I could give one a try in a store or something, I might consider it. However, I don't see how it could be more precise than a mouse, considering the joint on the body that rotates to control the respective device (wrist/fingers for mouse, elbow/shoulder for the Falcon). |

I haven't played AA3 since it released publicly, but, in beta, everything ran fine. All of the problems people are complaining about weren't there. I'm guessing it's more of a server volume issue or something.
Honestly though, there were probably only about 100 beta testers. In the "busy" evenings, there were, at most, maybe 50 on. |

What are you basing this on? Most NRA gun-loving conservatives would be blindly patriotic and would love this exact product.
What do you think your government funded this video game for? To give people something to do while the economy went down the toilet? What's so wrong with guns? Just because whatever puss country or state that you're from doesn't allow them doesn't mean they're a bad thing. The purpose of the Second Amendment (the ORIGINAL purpose, not the bullcrap the Democrats spew today) is personal protection, and, more importantly, protection from government tyranny - something that you've probably had a little too much of but are too blind to realize it. Is it wrong to want to protect yourself from those who would do you harm? Apparently, it is, because many other countries in the world have crushing anti-gun laws.
Conspiracy? What does being critical of the actions of the American military and government have to do with Conspiracies? This game is for recruitment purposes. This game is aimed at younger boys who are impressionable. You'd be surprised at what you would learn if you shut up, opened your mind, your eyes, and your ears, and actually played this game. Many people who play it are older and have no interest in serving our country. Many are in college and broke, so a free game is a good thing.
Besides, I'm sure that most people are smart enough to not be swayed into military service purely by a video game.
Isn't it ironic that this a game that is supposed to be about honor and fighting for freedoms (including freedom of speech).
Some people don't like being challenged to think about issues. It is much easier to blindly follow.
Ring the patriotic bell and the American dogs all salivate. You should do more research on America before you try to bash it and make yourself look retarded. The First Amendment protects you from GOVERNMENT censorship, not private.
Guess you're just too blinded by your own liberal genius, like most are...
Really? Are we not discussing this game and the real purpose of the American government for making this game? Ya, that is completely off topic.
Sure it is just a silly video game but its real purpose is disgusting. Americans are so brainwashed that they don't even question the constant onslaught of military propaganda aimed at them. Constant onslaught of military propaganda? What, in a free game? Wow. The only military "propaganda" I see is web sites, TV advertisements, America's Army, and occasionally a segment on FOX News. Most of the other news organizations would rather bash our military than say anything good about it.
If things were as exaggerated as you try to make them out to be, we'd have already won in Iraq and Afghanistan, because there would be a never ending sea of mindless American youth lined up outside recruitment offices, thirsting for blood. But there isn't, so you mostly just look like you have no idea what you're talking about.
Bang the peacenik drum and watch all the little bleeding-heart hippies salivate... Or sob like little girls. |

Nope, but it is the first to turn it into a video game. Keep waving your patriotic flag little doggy. I'm pretty sure that video game companies made games about war before the United States did... |

Your free propaganda is available to practice your killing! Wave flag and then download. Ring bell and salivate little doggy. Aww, cry more, emo kid.
First off, how's killing in America's Army 3 any different than killing in another game? I know this might burst your touchy-feely bubble, but America isn't the first country to have a military that has killed people before.
Second, there's a new spiffy-but-pain-in-the-ass honor system in the game tailored off of the U.S. Army's core values (LDRSHIP - Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage). If you incapacitate an enemy, he lays on the ground in the fetal position until he either gets help from one of his friends, or you zip-tie him. If you shoot him, you get a Rules of Engagement penalty and you lose Integrity. You also lose Integrity if you throw a grenade into a room and kill an enemy without first calling out the target.
And third - America's Army has been pretty whitewashed in this version. Along with the ROE penalties I described, the opposing forces in the game are pale Russians, as opposed to the Arabs from the first two. There's a tiny bit of back story to the game involving the Army being deployed in some old Warsaw Pact country... Whatever. It was too hokey not to tune out.
In short - sure, it's a game about the Army, and you kill people. But does that honestly make it any different from all the other games you play? |

Also, we need a new and real MMOFPS.. something with depth, not like Planetside. Planetside has a lot of depth. You just need a few people working together to realize it. You can't get anything done by solo footzerging anymore, but lots of people still do it.

This is such bullshit.
People today are such pussies.
I guess the First Amendment only matters when you're expressing a certain viewpoint. God forbid, something comes out that is realistic, and MIGHT show the military and/or the United States in a POSITIVE way, rather than another smear piece. But it's ok to say whatever you want, as long as it has a liberal slant on it.
Anyway, it's not like we need any more pro-US propaganda. Really? Name something other than FOX News that is consistently pro-US. Most of what I see or hear on TV or the internet is certainly not pro-US.
It would be refreshing for someone on television, for once, to say something NICE about America, or talk about how they're PROUD to be American, rather than talk about how horrible our country is and how guilty we should feel for being a part of it. |
