Yeah the 4th and 5th amendments are so antiquated! Get with the times! Human rights are so inconvenient.

3. Shockingly, Our Timid National Broadband Plan Isn't Working. May 8, 2013, 19:42 LittleMe

The USSR used 'national plans' and those failed too. Control freaks and people who want free shit (broadband in this case) like the feel good national plans. Also big monopolistic corporations like the free government money, but it has all mostly failed in my view.

Isn't it obvious the problem is too much government and not enough free market? Well that's how it looks to me. The Internet should not be a political issue. It is a product that we should be able to buy or use as that the market provides.

Basically what the article tells me is play NWN for free (which I've been doing), and if you're into PVP be ready to spend. It's completely F2P and a very expensive pay-to-win. Seems more expensive than most, but that Chris Roberts space game appears like it may be in the same ballpark.

I'm really not sure how gamers get a sense of satisfaction buying their way to an uber character.

Yeah it might be that most gamers aren't willing to pay much (or sub) for this type of game but a small percentage are willing to pay well above and beyond and that apparently makes up the difference. At least it's f2p.

I remember there were certain arcade games in the 80's and 90's that I payed a lot of money to play, by today's standards. Most arcade games I didn't play much at all but the few I did like, I payed a lot. If that analogy works...

Simply put a law in place that states it's illegal for a software manufacturer to end support for old software in Japan. Problem solved.

No, that's wrong. All the essential nutrients are in the skin, the rest is mostly just sugar and water. I have a friends who's a real health nut and when he eats apples he just takes shallow bites to get off all the skin and enough apple to keep it moist than composts the rest.

Good info thank you!

Was anyone even fired for this fiasco? Will anyone be prosecuted for this? The value of your dollars even worth even less now, since its value is propped up by military might. LOL now the Chinese have drones just as good as ours with huge R&D costs payed for by us.

Fukkin AT&T. Yeah right they offer "at least 100 dollars" for a phone trade in. I put in my iphone 4's stats, and they offer gladly to "recycle" it for me.

Pricks. I can get 200 bucks for it on ebay.

I'll give you $50 for it.

It's supposed to have a beautifully crafted and immersive world.. I know that doesn't make a game but, I hear people saying it's worth a single run-through. I'll try it.

That demo is likely to be found in this FTP:

ftp.amigascne.org

In fact pretty much every demo ever made on the Amiga can be found there. I recommend using WinUAE as the emulator.

Thank you but I couldn't find it. But I did find this demo that I used to load just for the music. Haven't heard that tune in a loooong time, as in about 21 years when I sold my A500.

Good links here thanks! Loved the Amiga demos, too.

Anyone remember the one short Amiga demo, I think by Silents or by Crystal (?) where it just had a bunch of balls with piano music going? You could set all sorts of parameters for the balls as they animated and make lots of very cool patterns. Been trying to find it for years and haven't yet. I loved the music, oddly, and it was fun and rewarding to see all the different animations by changing the values..

Yeah the ruling class will just take a more gradual approach, timed with regular catalyzing 'events.' They're slowly turning up the heat, not trying to throw us in hot water all at once.

Somehow the words 'democratic' and 'censor' don't seem to go together, perhaps things aren't as democratic as they should be.

Democracy is the road to socialism. Socialists are authoritarian and authoritarians by their nature, censor. I was going to quote a page on this here but since Blue is upset with thread derailing, I'm not sure how on-topic it would be. In my opinion it would be on topic since it addresses the first word 'democratic.' But google with 'democracy road to socialism'.

I want a PS4.. Didn't care for the 3 hardware much. The 4 looks promising.

So will it allow keyboards & mice? They should do that so people can use the wireless ones and surf properly on it. That would be a huge boon, imo. Then it could replace a big part of the low-end PC market while still having better graphics. I know, I know... It's not a pc, but damn it could very easily replace one for basic web functions. I'm sure it will have web surfing capabilities. Even blu-ray players have that...

Well if Actiblizz is trying to compete with CoD there's a chance they've been working on this for years and in that case, the recycled assets might not be as prevalent as we fear. Will the maps suck?

BF2143 in 2014 that builds on top of the BF4 engine? Summer?

@ Axis and Thundr

1. The effective tax rate in the USA is lower now than it has been in 100 years. So quit your bitching.

Are you factoring in monetary inflation into that? The fed is pumping about $75 billion a month into the system to stop our socialist system from catastrophic collapse. Inflation is a tax. Also it looks like the monetary fed bubble will burst before too long and inflation will skyrocket. So right now much of what we have is hidden inflation. For years we have exported our inflation to other countries. S&P rating slightly dropped now, we still export a lot of it.

jdreyer wrote on Apr 23, 2013, 14:51:
There's a capitalist paradise where taxes are practically non-existent and companies operate in regulation-free environment. So practice what you preach and move there: Somalia. Let us know how that works out for you.

Somalia is not anarchist or libertarian. Since the UN invaded tribal and other government types have sprung up to respond to the military action against their freedom from former socialist tyranny.

All that said, I support a consumption tax more than an income tax. I'd support getting rid of the latter, replacing it with consumption tax.

Yes, the market supports prices being through the roof and athletes being paid extreme salaries.
Much like the market supports the goods you buy being manufactured in China and the US-based CEOs being paid extreme salaries.

Well a big contributor to our manufacturing base moving to China is, imo, due to Fed (reserve) policy and our Federal debt. The Chinese and many other countries own a huge amount of our debt. Yes, it's a market force, but it's centrally planned and managed. So this isn't free-market economics at work in this case. It's anti free-market economics at work.
