Evidence of one of the unintended consequences of regulating the sale of video games to minors. Control freaks think they can control reality without unintended consequences. Then when the consequences become painfully apparent, they create even more rules instead of removing the failed rules.

FWIW I don't agree with NoBS' implied point that we have some sort of birthright to online privacy. I don't believe government regulations on corporations about consumer online privacy is a solution for many reasons. That's where I think he/she/it/honey badger was going.

Fine of you to have complaints about the game but I can see that this particular issue is probably intentional. People could scum stores and then resell the rarer/nicer items at auction. That could ruin the designers' intention to keep control on the items people are buying and using in-game - to keep the game more balanced.

| I don't expect or insist that they release mod tools. However I do want them to facilitate the modding community as much as possible. Give us time, we can do a lot. Especially what I think is important is to mod the game rules so we can hope to get something akin to Project Reality. But maybe they'll release that as an expansion or DLC. One can hope. |

Wow. 5X? Sheesh! Nice to hear. So it seems like the consoles are unable and/or failing to utilize this business model..?
There might be some drain from other PC games but as I see it, many of these players would likely otherwise be playing console games. The freedom that the PC platform offers allows previously unforeseen business models like this. |

Much like BC2 I think going for the same rush objective every round will get old fast. I could play a map maybe 20-30 times and then I've had enough. Really, why not randomize the objectives each round, at least some? I mean, what's the point in playing the same round with only minor variations? Mix it up each time. Design maps with this in mind, also.
This is why I love insurgency in Project Reality. Each round plays differently because there are at hundreds if not thousand or more possible cache locations. The huge map size helps a lot too. So far I've not seen a big BF3 map, as in 4k by 4k, or even 2k by 2k. I'm interested in BF3 but I'm still not expecting it to best PR mod.
