News Comments > The Elder Scrolls Online Next Week: Early Access Details

I like reading the positive comments on the game and I want to like it but the beta didn't inspire me. I'll watch gameplay vids to see if it's better. The world felt too MMOish to me. Specifically the world felt like generic window dressings designed to run on a low-end machine. Now I understand it's expensive to create a dense and immersive world but I think that's what I want. Also the hordes of other players in the game subtracted from the experience because they were just annoying. I hope I'm wrong about the game and after several patches they've made a kick ass mmo.

It might be good news in disguise. If it were treated as a currency, the Secret Servce might effectively shut it down in this country. I don't know the specifics of their authority to do so but I know they do shut down competing currencies to the Dollar, by showing up with as many gun-toting thugs as possible.

I'm surprised these currencies aren't illegal already considering how desperate the authorities are to maintain the house of cards that are Dollars (through all sort of financial manipulation). There's hope for financial freedom.

Honestly I still don't think that that poll is anything more than a joke. I mean saying that a game company with, at worst, a capitalistic mentality is worse than banks screwing people over out of their homes, large-scale companies foregoing safety and dumping millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf, and then the multitude of other companies out there that are actually causing physical harm on people is rather stupid.

This. It's more a statement of ignorance as to where are the important issues. The socialist central banks are vastly worse.

Nice. Barely pay any taxes at all and bilk the taxpayers for several hundred thousand a year more.

Right this is Microsoft's fault, but not the fault of an ultra-paranoid police state that goes far and beyond Microsoft?

Cutter wrote on Mar 22, 2014, 17:32:
Why doesn't the gubment just say 'Comply or we revoke your corporate charter?' Oh right, for the same reason they let them get away paying virtually no tax. Silly me.

The answer is simple. They want a cooperative corporate partner in their criminal surveillance state. Since the gubment doesn't earn the money they spend, they don't care if they spend that money as long as it helps them toward their ends.

Yeah I was upset about no jumping too. First started with Pac-Man and not being able to jump over fucking Inky and his multi-raced brethren. Wasn't quite so bad with Ms. Pac man since everyone knows women can't jump.

No problem there are other ways to get games that are no longer for sale. It's a fun SP game and the campaign felt like it went on and on...

The game doesn't really start until you are 60 and have all your abilities, in my opinion.(or 70 in the expansion) At that point, currently, the wizard starts to really pull away from the other classes.

Thanks good to know this info. I guess wizard will be my next char.

Except for that time they were found guilty of violating net-neutrality by the FCC.

The FCC has a lot to gain with net neutrality regulations because they are the ones who'd enforce it. They are going to paint the Internet as something that needs their regulatory authority. That's a conflict of interest, so take their words with skepticism.

I agree it's shitty, but the duopoly creates this problem. There's a lack of competition in wired Internet service. Net Neutrality as it is being advocated won't solve the problem. An open competitive market that strives to serve the consumer will. Further legislation and regulation could make the problem worse.

Bring back UT99 with Threewave CTF and Hook and it'd effing rock!

Threewave! It's sad how the grapple was ignored by developers. It was a fantastic game mechanic that rewarded skill and it was fun.

I'd be happy with an improved UT3 as long as they got rid of Titan mode win-button. The mini free expansion (black edition) they did consoleized UT3 far too much.

Devil's advocate but seeing that TOR is successful enough to get an expansion and rustling so many jimmies here is pretty entertaining.

This. It's a fun casual mmo. I like the radio voiceovers in it. Not so much the cutscenes.

If you haven't grabbed Expeditions: Conquistador yet, run, don't walk, to get it. Totally a steal for $5. I don't know how or why this was overlooked by so many people but it's a gem. Ima probably give this another playthrough again very soon. I hope it did well enough to warrant a follow-up.

Thank you. Sold.

That seems pretty steep

You probably know this but, people usually have to only serve half of the sentence for good behavior. But yeah 9 months is still steep, considering his career outlook is probably permanently damaged since employers often do background checks nowadays.

But it's not like the nine months is going to 'correct' him or anyone else, even though they call it a correction facility.

Playing the AH was more fun than playing the game. Not saying I liked the AH, but DAMN D3 is a snoozefest.

I got a guy to level 60 in a day and was able to farm torment immediately with ww, hota or boulder and I was bored to tears in a few hours of keep runs - didn't even bother to look at loot after awhile it's so insignificant unless its a legendary or set piece - just shoveled it off to the salvage man.

And on top of it all, lag was insane. Way worse than anything I'd experienced in PoE. If only Invasion was worth a shit, now I'm just back to other indies...

The game is much, much better now with v2+. Try it again. It's genuinely fun now. But yeah on release back in May 2012 the lag was atrocious and the game wasn't fun then.

Agreed. Nothing about it grabs me. At least the quests seems all story related and not overly trivial or menial. The scenery is pretty but i found it boring to explore. Played maybe six hours. No way I'd pay 60 for that. I'll still read the release reviews but my hopes aren't high for ESO.

So, we've had various flavors of IV since 2007. Maybe time to make V?

That wouldn't be consistent with the SF series if they went to V so soon.
