That's the $64,000 question.

Big Green has been hesitant to adopt the 2.0b(?) standard i think the one that allows for free-sync. So this will possibly kill their whole g-sync line.

Either way, this news should be the #1 post on BN IMO. This is big news.

Now we wait for CES 2018 to see the new screens that will adopt this, if they make it out in time (crosses fingers)

Yes. CES will be very interesting. I'm typing this while tired but I'll try to make sense. IIRC in the past nVidia has always been good with staying on the cutting edge of the HDMI spec.

Hopefully they'll realize that gsync was merely a temporary solution while the market caught up. They should realize gsync could not last forever.

Alternatively, maybe they'll update gsync with the next greatest feature set. That way they could still implement full hdmi 2.1 and offer the option of an updated gsync (or a replacement 'must have' feature like VR specific stuffs).

The worst option of course is that they fail to adopt hdmi 2.1 in order to keep their pie. That pie will shrink and leave them irrelevant in the longer term.

There's no way to avoid it. gsync's days, as we know it, are coming to an end. Good news. The question is, how mature or immature is nVidia going to behave in their adoption of hdmi 2.1+?

60 Hz for 8K and 120 Hz for 4K. The standard also supports Dynamic HDR and resolutions up to 10K for commercial and specialty use.

This new version of the HDMI specification also introduces an enhanced refresh rate that gamers will appreciate. VRR, or Variable Refresh Rate, reduces, or in some cases eliminates, lag for smoother gameplay, while Quick Frame Transport (QFT) reduces latency. Quick Media Switching, or QMS, reduces the amount of blank-screen wait time while switching media. HDMI 2.1 also includes Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which automatically sets the ideal latency for the smoothest viewing experience.

Awesome. These are important for gaming! I wonder if nVidia will implement full 2.1 which would seemingly compete with gsync.

NN is corporate propaganda. You are useful idiots. Regulations often inflate prices and protect markets to exploit you the consumer. Look at what the FDA has done with drug prices for example. They want to do the same thing to you with Title II. I'm not saying an ISP like Comcast is good but I don't think Title II or strong handed socialist regulation was the answer.

An open market and competition is the much more powerful answer to be sure the Internet is free and open. You the consumer need to have the power, not the feds and not the incompetent FCC.

Now direct your anger at your local government to open up more competition to give you more choices. That would be constructive.

This is a good watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1CrbHUeAV4 Six minutes of your time.

IMO Seth Rich was the leak. Not Russia. It just as likely wasn't a remote hack. The time stamps on the files indicated it was a local leak and the leaker was murdered for exactly that reason.

NamecaF's comment was pertinent considering what's happening today. Seemed like NamecaF delivered poetic justice to me. As we all know, all white people are racist and it's perfectly fine to attack and slander white people based on the color of their skin. Oh wait that's racist.

NBC news called all gamers racist recently in their propaganda hit piece. The wound is sore and soft and Rigs hit it. Not Rigs' fault but really, don't go there. No I don't expect Blue to post the link since it so clearly exposed the alt-left lies so here it is anyway.

His argument is the parallel shadows in photos could not be done in back then. Except a commenter pointed out that lighthouse lights are parallel (or close enough) and their lenses can be attached any light source. So this video is debunked as I see it. I think it's possible we went to the moon but Flat Earthers have arguments that are just as good or better than this video presented, and FE'rs have some really really flawed points too.

Source: https://van.physics.illinois.edu/qa/listing.php?id=1957

In a lighthouse, a converging lens is used to make a very concentrated beam of light able to reach many miles to ships at sea. Converging lenses are often used to focus parallel rays of light down to a point. In a lighthouse, however, this is done in reverse (yes, lenses work backwards, too!) -- because the light source is a point and emits its light in all directions, a converging lens is used to bend the light so that as many of the rays from the original source are parallel. That way, they all go in the same direction, and someone far out at sea is more likely to see it because more of the light is sent his way.

Now in the movies and games we see the beam from the lighthouse get larger over distance but in reality I think it's much less of a spread.

I've personally seen the Earth's shadow in the sky just before sunrise. The shadow is not curved of course but it does show the earth is in between the sun and the sky at that moment. Also I've seen satellites move from behind the Earth's shadow and into sunlight which also alludes to a globe Earth.

So for me I'm not convinced of FE. But a lot of the FE video material is worth watching. Their evidence for nasa faking lots of more recent footage is compelling but could just be them scamming for funding or secret military purpose for mission launches or whatever else I don't know.

I never understood gamers who play games to cheat.

Many do it to dominate and out do others at any cost. It's the 'comparative mind' state of ego consciousness. Me and the other as opposed to the empathy of understanding one's self in another. It's the declaration of 'me', the false self. This is why scores and player levels or clothing work in games as a way to compare me vs every one else. Doesn't have to be ego, but often is.

Then there is the sadistic reason. To ruin other people's games as a form of evil vampiric pleasure.

Or as convenience or many other possible reasons.

It may mean I'm a jerk, or it may mean what they believe is utterly ridiculous and supported not by a single fact but their desperate belief that there's a shadow conspiracy trying to alter everything they're told.

By a single fact? Really? Watch this please. Now of your two options that you presented, which is more true?

There are many more videos that talk about the topic. Learn about the dark phase of plasma and plasma cosmology or learn more about the E.U. theory or any other topic before you attack and ridicule other people. Or at the very least, be considerate of other people's feelings and be respectful.

The sun is powered by ELECTRIC CURRENTS!
And countless political conspiracies.

This is why having a disk notcher is important. You can format and use the other side of the disk and get twice as much on it. Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77VlOLpWPbk

In a pinch, a regular hole puncher works just be sure to align the hole in the right spot.

So it's melting water on a comet way out in the deep freeze of the outer solar system eh?

Most comets' comas come from evaporating water and ice, but K2 is too far from the sun for that process to have begun.

That speculation which became consensus before we sent probes out and is not confirmed by modern direct observation. Comets are dry rocks with very little ice. It's not water coming off, but hydroxyls.

Here is a better explanation as to how a comet can be active so far out in the solar system.
